This works well but after only two, two hour long sessions the tip is bending out of true. Continual straightening will weaken the metal and I wouldn’t be surprised if it breaks off.

Well it splits the logs the one’s that are to big for the house burner. I taped in at first, to get it started, then used the 7 pound sledgehammer one or two hits no problem, some of the oak which had knots it took a phew more hits. And they don’t all come out perfectly, but it’s still good I’m glad I bought one because its better than trying to cut it with a hand or electric saw.( the 7 pound keeps you fit and warm)

Bigger and heavier than my previous one which lost it’s point after a lot of heavy use. I have a log splitter so only use it for knotty wood and logs that are too big for the splitter. These it copes with well. I manage some myself but struggle with using the sledgehammer for any length of time. However, I am nearly 80 so perhaps I’m excused for leaving it mainly to my sons! A good tool to have and easier than an axe.

We looked for wood splitters and they were quite expensive. I wasn’t sure about this due to the price. It arrived and was much larger and heavier than I thought it would be.
Al I can say is brilliant. We have a lump hammer and a couple of hits and every log has split.
Definitely recommended and saved us a fortune buying expensive ones

So impressed overall. Very quick to arrive, neatly packaged. Don’t bother buying any other splitter, this is the best! Split all this wood in 20 mins and I am a not very beefy middle aged woman. Does exactly what it says with minimum effort.

I was not sure this would be up to the job of splitting applewood logs up to 60cm in diameter. It dealt with them no problem. A good heavy sledgehammer helps.
Excellent value, a really good tool.

We found it to be a very useful tool to have in the log shed, really does what it says, don’t know why there are -ve feedback, probably a case of the user’s not using the tool properly . And no I haven’t been paid for this review

Bought this to split some logs that were difficult to split using a maul. Easy to find and order and was quickly received. Tried it straight away and hammered in using back of maul. Did the job and split the log after several hits. Have got several more to do so will get a good work out but it does what it says it will. Very pleased.

I’m really pleased with this item as, along with my 8lb sledge hammer, it split all the Ash logs I had. Many were knotted and couldn’t be split with my axe.

I ordered this not really thinking it would achieve a lot, but because it was a reasonable cost I risked it. A couple of days later I ordered a 5 tonne electric splitter. Today I decided to set up and use the electric splitter. Electric splitter ok but couldn’t split a couple of year old birch logs as they were too hard. I decided to try the Blostm out of interest- it split the logs the electric splitter couldn’t! BRILLIANT!!
I’m a small 56 year old female- used it with ease- definitely worth getting, Im really pleased.

All is ok, the accuracy only receives 4 * as the splitter cannot control all wood pieces. So branched off elements may split unexpected and not in a way the splitter would cut normal chunks.

Overall good tool and is in frequent use. So far assisted with 5m3 and no sign of tiredness.

Good quality product. Split some large rounds effectively, but don’t underestimate the amount of effort – it need a few really good hits with a sledgehammer or back of a splitting maul. Also, don’t forget the safety gear and keep onlookers at a safe distance.

Great piece of kit – use it for splitting logs.What can I say does exactly what I need it to do, has not let me down and I’ve given it some ‘welly’. Would definitely recommend.

If you know anything about chopping logs, you will know that a peice full of knots is never going to break up with an axe! I had a log I just could not chop up with the axe as it was just bouncing off no matter how many times I hit it or where I hit it! Hence I brought this product and with some elbow grease and a mallet it was cracked open in no time.
Some bits do require some strength and if you can use the axe then happy days but some bits you NEED this tool!!! It really is a game changer tbh! A must have tool for chopping logs! Needless to say I’m very happy with it!

For those who don’t like swinging an axe, this is the alternative, instead you’ll be swinging a sledge hammer.
This allows the user to split wood more accurately. Worth buying and keeping as a backup

Cheaper than a big axe, but works just as well at dividing up wood into smaller sections. We have pieces of cherry that are pre cut with a chainsaw, but too wide to fit in our burner. This tool is perfect for us, splits the pieces quickly and easily, without needing to buy a big axe.
