Small, compact and feels strong. Easy to use, loaded it with a 128gb sd card. Plug the earphone socket into my Aux in my campervan – unlimited tunes whilst I drive.
Easy and intuitive to use.
Would definitely recommend
I use this product in my car for music as I don’t have a DAB radio and the FM radio has a poor signal.
It feels incredibly lightweight and is smaller than expecting but the quality seems good. Easy to navigate the menu with the buttons. Only drawback is when searching through the artist list it can take a while because you have to keep pressing the button to scroll down instead of searching with letters. I kind of knew it would be like that so it’s fine. Otherwise, it works very well…
You can create playlists on it and I’ve already put a micro sd card in the slot just incase as I’ve used up the internal memory space already.
To transfer music onto it you can either connect with a computer or like I did connected it to my phone (which has all my music) via a usb-c to usb-c cable. I then went on my phone and selected my music folder and copied to the MP3 players folder. Very easy but did take a long time as I used up all the internal storage. But going forward, transferring a new album onto it shouldn’t take long.
The Bluetooth doesn’t connect to the car so I have it plugged in which is fine and the sound quality is great. Not tried the Bluetooth with a wireless speaker yet.
The earphones that comes with it feel and sound to me just like some Sony ones I have… almost exactly the same other than the Majority ones are angled slightly which actually seems better than my Sony ones. Comfort when wearing and sound quality are indistinguishable between the two… I was very pleased.
Price point is about right.
Majority customer services were very quick to respond when I contacted them and were very helpful. This was with regards to activating the warranty. They were excellent in their response.
Overall very happy with the product. A good little MP3 player that can be used for a variety of occasions whether it be put in your pocket and using the earphones, connected to a speaker or to your car speakers. Quality feel and sound seems good all round.
I really should have read the description first, and for that I can’t blame Majority.
I really wanted a compact MP3 player to take on my travels and to use in bed at night to lull me off to sleep with a bit of Mozart or Shostakovich. I also wanted to be able to tune into the news early in the morning to find out whether Putin had been assassinated or Suella Braverman had resigned…
And there lies my problem: This little beauty is JUST an MP3 player, with no FM radio. As I said, I really should have read the description more carefully, but having a number of other players, all of which are indeed capable of playing music and tuning into the radio, I just assumed… Oddly enough, Majoritiy’s Oakcastle player, which is even smaller than this, does boast an FM radio. Ah well….
As an MP3 player it is extremely good: beautifully designed, with a good colourful screen. It’s easy to use – even has acceptable earphones (though substituting a set of Sound Magic phones is worth considering). However, it should be noted than in the on-screen lists, in order to move up or down, you actually have to use the left or right keys – a bit counterintuitive!
My only other gripe is the handbook. The tiny print is almost impossible to cope with. For me that’s not much of a problem, as I’m very familiar with the general use of MP3 players, having got through around 20 of them. But for anyone coming new to them, this could be a major issue.
In conclusion, a direct message to Majority Audio: If you ever decide to produce a version of this player with FM capability, I’ll be first in the queue.
his is a small light weight MP3 player, all features work very well, loading music is just a case of drag and drop, would highly recommend for people who just want to load and listen to their music without all the gadgets to worry about, and you register it online with the company for a 3 year warranty, brilliant , would def recommend, and am actually going to order another one for a friend right after i have done this review
This product as described. Easy to use and good for Bluetooth with my speaker. Easy to load music grab and drop. Great to increase the storage and easy to access the sd card. Would recommend if a cheap and cheerful unit is what you want.
I thought it wasnt working properly and the user manual is in tiny tiny print so couldnt use it. I was going to return it as i couldnt work out how to use bluetooth on it, but now i know how to work it, it works well and the sound through the speaker is very good for such a little device. It has lost one star for the rubbish guide book !
I bought this as a basic travelling mp3 player especially for bluetooth with mini speakers.
First I used plugged – in earphones and was very impressed by the amazing sound. Bass is not overpowering which is a bonus, the sound is very good stereo clarity.
Bluetooth and the sound quality is not so good, bass is much lowered…..but it is an adequate overall sound.
Glad I bought it!
On first connecting the MP3 player to my laptop the cable supplied with it didn’t go fully into the player, however when plugged into the laptop it started charging so I assumed that was normal. When it wasn’t found by the laptop I started looking at reasons why and swapped the cable with my own phone charger cable and the laptop found it straight away. The player itself is a nice piece of kit which performs well, I think I was just unlucky with a dodgy cable
Only picked up this morning. Simple to use. Put in sd card from my broken mp3 player. It’s really small, very plasticky. Sounds goods. Found wireless Ear buds right away and connected. Been using it for 2 hours now, and still connected to bluetooth. Sound quite low, have to turn it up to max to hear music outside. A bit pricey but if the Bluetooth connects Every time , which is why I bought it for, then it is worth it.
It was on the strength of my previous experience with Majority products that I purchased this MP3 player. When I’m running, I simply don’t want to be carrying around a phone around my arm, in my pocket, etc. This is the perfect solution as the player comes with a strong sports clip, a HOLD function, and weighs almost nothing. Plus, I must admit a bit of the nostalgia factor that comes into play, being transported back to ‘simpler’ times when portable MP3 players were all the rage. When I first unboxed the player, I was struck by how small and elegant it looked and its vibrant colour display, which is not dissimilar to some of the bigger name brands that used to manufacture such devices. The Bluetooth function works well — I had no issue connecting the player to my over-the-ear headphones. As with all Majority products, the sound quality is excellent for the price range. The ear buds included are absolutely fine. I hooked the MP3 player up to some basic speakers, and the sound is overall well-balanced, crisp and clear. The player comes with 16 GB internal storage, but I opted to insert a pre-loaded 64 GB mini-SD card of my own music. The functionality is great — everything is very intuitive, easy to find, and works as it should. Overall, another fantastic and affordable product by Majority. Having now purchased three products from the company (all of which, by the way, come with a generous extended 3-year warranty), I’m finding the brand reliable, the products robust, and the range versatile with price points to meet varied audio/tech needs.
I am really enjoying my Majority MP3 Player as it is such a lightweight and compact MP3 player with built-in Bluetooth connectivity. The build quality is excellent for that price point and YES! It comes with actual buttons that you can press for easy operation rather than the capacitive buttons which can become a bit of a challenge to use sometimes.
This little device weighs a mere 33 GRAMS and comes with a claimed 34 HOURS of battery life on a single charge which I managed to achieve exceptionally. Obviously when the Bluetooth is turned on, this would reduce the battery life by a little margin but I haven’t fully tested that yet. It comes with built-in 16GB of internal storage which can be boosted by the addition of a Micro SD card slot to bring the total storage capacity to 128GB.
I really enjoy the display as it can be tiny and hard to read at times but it is crisp and clear.
When it comes to audio quality, specially coming from Majority, I can confirm that this MP3 does not disappoint. The sound quality is crisp and clear, and it comes with loseless audio to enhance the music experience. It also comes with an audio jack so it offers the flexibility of either listening to your favourite music wirelessly or through a wired headset.
This MP3 Player is also excellent to carry everywhere as it comes with a built-in sport clip which makes it convenient for the gym or other sports activities.
For added piece of mind, it comes with a 3-year extended warranty and a hassle-free return policy. This package contains 1x Majority MP3 player, 1x pair of earphones, 1x USB charging cable and a user manual.
Overall, I am extremely happy with my purchase as this little MP3 Player from Majority exceeded my expectations since it delivers on sound and comes with extra added features that I can’t live without now.
The saying, good things come in small packages is very true here;
You have everything you need to get going, just add music! So you get the mp3 player with 16gb of storage (equivalent to 4000 songs), a colour screen display, with a practical spring loaded sports clip built in, the wired earbuds which are quite good, an instruction booklet which you may need a magnifying glass to read 😉 and the usb-c transfer/charge cable. There is also a micro sd card slot in case you run out of storage space.
The display is small due to the device size but is straightforward to navigate using the easy control system consisting of a 4 plus 1 circular navigation button. Did I mention it has a colour display
Fast forward and rewind/skip is achieved by holding the button in respective direction, pressing once skips to next or previous track.
The feature I found most exciting with this unit is the Bluetooth, you practically have a mobile sound system if you pair this with any Bluetooth speaker. I tested it on the Majority Atlas Bluetooth soundbar and it worked a treat, very easy to link and setup.
Other features available are a Stopwatch, voice recording which can be set to activate only on sound, Calendar, Bluetooth as mentioned before and you can choose from some preset wallpapers.
The unit is very light but solid at the same time, it doesn’t have any delicate parts or anything to worry about. There is a manual hold button/switch to lock out and avoid unnecessary button presses too.
When you plug the device into a PC, you get a choice to charge only or transfer and charge. The device shows up as a usb removeable drive and you simply drop mp3 files in. It couldn’t be more simple. I was also able to drop in a .flac file which it played perfectly.
If like me you are worried about draining battery on your smartphone while listening to music, this unit has a low enough footprint to serve a useful purpose, which was my primary reason for purchase. You can even use it to temporarily store files on, as it doubles as a usb storage device (as long as you haven’t filled it to the brim with music!) Well done with this one Majority.
I recently purchased this MP3 player so I can listen to music without getting interrupted by phone notifications and calls.
There were a couple of reasons for choosing this particular model, in particular the fact that it’s from a UK company. Add in the larger screen size than a lot of similar priced players and has Bluetooth and micro SD support as well as USB C charging instead of a proprietary or micro USB port and it’s a really good value proposition.
The player comes well presented with a USB C cable and headphones. The headphones are much better than you’d expect from a pair included with a player, normally you get a real basic type but these are proper in-ear style earbuds and have different sized tips included.
The display is big and bright, well lit and after using some other players with a smaller one line black and blue display this large colour screen is a big improvement.
The Bluetooth connection works easily and connects well with no static or cutting in and out.
The player comes with a non removable sports clip which is strong enough for clipping to a waistband or t shirt neck and hold during exercise.
You get 16gb of storage plus it can take micro SD cards. The 16GB internal storage can hold around 4000 songs.
Operating the unit is simple, the controls are large and self explanatory, and the large display makes seeing menus and song selection easy.
The battery life is excellent, ive used it for a full 8 hour shift and it still has battery left – that’s over Bluetooth so if you use wired headphones it’ll be longer. This was on shuffle with the unit locked so you might get less if you turn the screen on a lot to choose albums or songs
Although the date and time were present, they were not correct when received, so i feel that this should be a much more user friendly action to be done on first switch-on, but i did dig down through the options and found the date/time settings to correct the mp3 player. However when using the calendar function, i expected more than just the day/month/year displayed, and it was too easy to be viewing other than the current date. I found this function a complete waste, especially the display of date/time/year colours, which could be unreadable in daylight.
Bluetooth pairing was a little more tortuous than usual, taking several attempts and resulting in a “drive error” message. The pairing was also a little more confusing due to the mp3 players designation ( that did not identify clearly enough) that was already installed on the player. I was expecting something along the lines of seeing a new device to pair the was called “Majority Mp3” instead of “***Tarns”
I found the option to create a voice recording and successfully made a recording and reviewed it later.
I successfully transferred 2396 songs from my pc, which had an mp3 capacity of 10Gb and took approx 1 hour (transferring at a quite a slow 1mb/s to 4 mb/s). Accessing tracks subsequently was adequately quick.
I found the Bluetooth to work OK, although it was a little more complicated than i have been used to on other devices, taking several attempts to connect.
I found this Majority Mp3 player to be acceptable as an Mp3 player, but expensive when compared to competitors who had either more memory or more facilities, such as fm radio or external speaker or E-Book reader or Pedometer. As such I would suggest it should be priced around 22.99 incl vat. Unless it gets a Unique Selling Point (or USP), such as “waterproof” or “Solar Powered” etc; as it is there are too many competitive products.
Out of the box.
Nice very lightweight (and I mean lightweight!) player – easy to navigate when you learn the patterns –
Bluetooth performs well – – and seems to connect to my BT Headphones seemlessly – once paired first time all you have to do is go to the Bluetooth menu and then magic they are connected again – no faffing about!
So I was listening on my majority N/C headphones in the garden and found myself just enjoying my music again.
its SO small and easy – I had it clipped to the collar of my tShirt – and barely knew it was there.
The equaliser set to ROCK and its ROCKS – good depth and resolution.
Popped in an SD card loaded with other music – told it to use that folder and away you go.
Navigation via folder is simple – the interface reminds me of the Oakcastle and my ill fated older unit that got a nice 40deg Hot wash and 1600 spin and quick death!
I literally wore out the Oakcastle one (battery life about 10 mins and scratched/bashed and abused! and the swofy one I replaced it with drives me mad! – guess its a standard firmware wth some tweaks.
Not used the recordings option not sure I ever will.
Battery life – I havent got near flat yet. I added a magnetic USB connection on it and its then super easy charge and play/transfer depending what option.
All in all – this is just a great little bit of kit – – I spend far too much money on gadgets and then they are retired (countless rubbish BT headphones) but this little device is just SO easy to pop in a bag and then use. Its not going add more than an ounce to a flight bag or your commute or that gardening T shirt!
Just to alert you there is one gotcha that did suprise me.
I was suprised it doesnt play FLAC files – so had to pull those off the SD card.. Be nice if there was a codec update in the firmware to come. Majority?
CORRECTION – IT DOES SUPPORT FLAC files… – just had a duff encoding! – 11/10 now!
I am a Majority supporter as I like their products – I have 3 sound bars (inc the AWESOME Dolby Atmos bar with Subwoofer!) – 2 radios -1 CD/DAB/Internet radio, 1 set of headphones and now one of these. I have found their support to 2nd to None…and a 3 year warranty!
Heck whats not to like?
I reckon that a simple purchase of one of these will have you taking your music with you much more and off your phone!
Great price size of a match box and super fun…
🙂
My review for this MP3 player is all positive and to make it fair I am using the supplied wired headphones that came with the MP3 player and I must say that I am not disappointed with the quality of the sound, the headphones have a really nice shape, are light and fit nicely into your ear without coming loose at all. Bluetooth headphones will give you more flexibility if you are on the move or doing lots of work. Connection by Bluetooth to headphones is really easy to set up through the search and connect menu.
The controls are easy to navigate and the lock button is a useful feature too. The colour screen is nice and sharp and considering it is a small unit the screen is easy to read with a vibrant display. It only took a couple of minutes from un-boxing to full set up with date and time. The transfer of music was really simple with drag and drop.
I have put loads of music onto the in-built memory and there is still a lot of space left, I don’t think I will need to expand the memory for ages by using a micro SD card.
The belt clip is nice and strong without being obtrusive; in fact it is quite discreet. It will fit a standard belt but may not fit a very wide belt in which case you would just clip it to a pocket or shirt and can be confident it will stay in place.
Having a 3 year warranty after registration is a nice touch.
I genuinely cannot find anything negative to say about this MP3 player.
I have several Majority products and like all my other products I am very pleased with my purchase, the looks, feel, design and performance are very good.
