I purchased the Gopro version to replace a cheap version and what a difference! The quality is fantastic and so is the design eg easy to fit and doesn’t twist, very sturdy for a lightweight harness. Overall great product albeit expensive.

I’ve been using my newish GoPro 8 as a handheld and with a mini tripod. For a recent trip to the Swiss mountains I decided I wanted to be handsfree. I was close to buying a cheaper chest mount and am pleased I didn’t. It’s easy to put on and fasten. The camera fixes end detaches easily. As the photo shows, it fits well under a coat. And most importantly I didn’t look like a muppet wearing it. Highly recommended (just a shame my GoPro got an SD card error half way through the trip, that’s a different story).

5.0 out of 5 stars No regrets in paying a bit more for the branded produc

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersFor hiking it is great as the time lapse results from a Hero 11 are rock solid. Unfortunately I didn’t find the video from a local run watchable due to the dynamics of my running style with a slight sway from side to side – a great shame as it’s more comfortable than the headband. It’s certainly comfortable to wear and gives handsfree use of phone, drink etc, and you can change the battery without having to remove the camera from the strap. For running I’ll stick to the headband which works as well as the chest strap when used for walking, but is a sweat trap over longer distances.

The V2 chesty DOES come with a verticle buckle/mount and thrumb screw in the box ( the new style vertical buckle – L shaped, not J shaped like older ones, but not quite as ‘tall’ from the base as J mounts).
Either way, even with a J mount or inlcuded L mount you still have to mount the camera upside down for mountainbiking as you lean forward.
Seems ok/comofortable. Goes on waistcoat style, still a bit awkward with the straps done tight, but easier than the old style v1/cheapo ones.
Clips together nicely at the front, seems good quality. The padded part at the back is comfortable and spreads the load. Hope this means its more stable.
Did notice that the buckle can knock on the base plate if not careful – this would be picked up loudly by the camera.
Expensive for what it is – should be about 30 max really (2022). But you do get a buckle, and they are 10+ on their own.

Great quality and feel to the chest mount. Definitely recommend.

Don’t buy cheap if it’s for your GoPro, just spend the money as it will last over and over!

One tip, make sure you have a J mount as then you can then angle the camera upwards a little more if you’re leaning forward for mountain biking or something as such.

Like the title pay more you get more had the cheaper non branded ones never again you understand why they are the price that they are … but this one wow comfortable can’t hardly feel that it’s on very secure sizing is very good aswell

This chest mount is really easy to use and handy when doing sports, if you want to have some great shots! Sadly the GoPro 10 didn’t cooperate as it keeps freezing but that is not the fault of the harness. As an extra tool for your GoPro – great!

It mounts my GoPro and my Akaso, which is great. It is expensive but I would go with this over any of the other cheaper alternatives out there. I recommend.

Really comfortable to wear, big improvement on gopro’s first chestie. Easy to use and adjust to size, just make sure it’s really tight to stop any movement (am using it for mountain biking)

Quality is amazing. Worth paying out for. Better then the cheap alternatives out there by far: even has clip that allows you to put your arms in and clip to chest instead of trying fiddle it over your head first.

Go Pro can easiley pop out of bracket and drop to the floor as this has happend to be once resulting in Go Pro dropping on to the concrete ground

Makes my footage more stable the straps could do with some padding for better comfort only front chest part as small padding maybe i had too tight but gives it more stability footage happy better than handlebar mount.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersIn terms of quality, fit and comfort the chesty is almost perfect. However keep in mind that if you’re using it to capture mountain bike footage it is a little limited on the angle it can be held at. It can only be angled further downwards, not upwards. So unless you only want footage of your bike and 4/5 metres in front of you. You will have to either mount it upside down (and rotate the videos) or buy some form of extension mount.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersMuch better than the cheaper one I bought first, having bought on of these when I first bought the camera I bought an unbranded one. When I tried it tried it I found it to be annoying to get on and off and eventually the plastic being brittle it snapped so I thought bite the bullet and go for the gopro genuine one. Well, its so much better and worth the extra, the camera quick release locks, the whole thing comes apart from the front not the back, the straps are larger and hold the camera tight to you all of which the cheap one doesn’t do!! My videos are now better as the camera doesn’t move, the camera can’t easily unclip when you don’t want it to say for example it some knocks it accidentally and I can get out of the thing without a second person or being a magician.

I’ll keep this short, it’s far worth spending the extra cash for this than any of the knock off or third party.
Yes it’s expensive, but it’s leagues better than both the older GoPro version, which in itself was better than the cheap knock offs.

It’s comfort, sturdy, highly adjustable and super secure… get it, you won’t regret it!

Very good nice shots and good POV perspective but the actual mount is made of a cheep feeling plastic but very good for the GoPro hero 8 good in the water too

The Chesty is well made and easy to wear. The difficulty is that when the GoPro Hero 8 is attached and I am running it stabilises to an extent but there is a lot of bobbing up and down in the footage. Not really the Chesty’s problem, but as you use both in tandem it’s not that useful for ruining. It might be better for cycling

We used this when skiing in France. Am glad I didn’t buy a ‘copy’. Worked well, really pleased. Was able to adjust for my 11 year old, and for me (90Kg 1.85m), with skiing jackets etc. Allowed us to capture some brilliant images and film.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersSo far I’ve used both a helmet mount and the chesty for GoPro footage whilst skiing, and found the chesty to be a lot more convenient in terms of both placement and actual footage. If the camera is mounted to your head, you tend to capture all the movements of you looking around to check the slope is clear (which looks even weirder when it’s being stabilised), but with the chesty you don’t have to worry about that. Also a helmet mount + stabilisation makes the footage look as if you’re ‘gliding’, which I personally don’t like.

One of the reasons I’ve never really bothered with chest mounts much is because it’s like a battle getting them on. Like which way is what. No such issue with this GoPro chest mount! It’s comfortable, sturdy and convenient. Well worth it.

Does what it’s meant too….was told the quality justified the cost. Certainly easy to use and holds the camera just right over a leather jacket when being used on the motorbike.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI’ve purchased this for MTB’ing and a Snowboarding trip coming up this season, it far surpasses any of the cheap unbranded items on Amazon so trust me, don’t waste your time buying them because you get 1000 accessories with them.

The fit is snug, it barely moves and it’s quite high on the chest. I can’t see this being a problem with my Hero7 with Stabilisation but you may get some bumps etc (as expected) with the lower models. The backplate isn’t solid, its cushioned and just the right amount of sturdy! The clasp to quickly release is pretty awesome too, making it easy to take it off if you’ve got layers and layers on!

Spend the money, and spend it once on V2 of the Chesty. It comes with the vertical mount too which was a plus for me as I was looking at buying those separate.
