Unsurprisingly had issues with shutdowns with my old 650W after adding an RTX 4080 Super (despite an efficient 7800X3D with it). An 850W probably would’ve been enough but ordered this for some extra headroom and it’s been great, zero issues, nice and quiet and was easy to install. Best part is it came with a 12VHPWR cable making it even simpler and resulting in a much cleaner set up. Would recommend.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersSo the RM650 itself is near silent, and installation was made much easier and cleaner thanks to being able to plug in whichever end made more sense first. Generally it’s all the good quality I’ve come to expect from corsair. I do, however, have to take exception to their choice of cabling to include with the PSU. Granted they didn’t have to include any cable but, gift horse dentistry aside, the cables are simply horrible. they’re flat ribbon types which are pretty stiff and inflexible, and I have no idea why they thought to include two identical CPU cables, but not include a single headed 6+2 pin PCIE cable for the GPU. If you want to do a good job on your install, buy yourself some nicer cables alongside the PSU, otherwise it’s a perfectly cromulent bit of kit that I’m sure will last for years to come.

I already have a Be Quiet 1200w on my main computer so when I bought this i was amazed how quiet this was, so I was extremely happy with it, because it was better than expected i give this a 5 stars but i should mention I wasn’t so pleased with the cables, I find them thick and bulky for my midi atx tower and the GPU cable has a split cable so looks a bit ugly, but the cables are of high quality. this is for my second computer which is a intel 2600 but after having a burning smell with my previous 650watts I wasnt taking any risks so went with this 850w.

I’ve been building computers for over 10 years at this point and I’ve only used Corsair PSUs.

Back in the day it used to be the CX550m for the low cost and great components but 550w just wasn’t cutting it for me anymore.

So for my personal system (R7 5700x and RX7900GRE) I decided to go for something with a bit more headroom.

The power supply fits great in my Fractal Design North and cable management wasn’t an issue thanks to the modularity of the unit.

I haven’t had any issues with noise or heat and the extra headroom for wattage allows for my system to reach its full performance and allows for some nice OC.

I’ve read some things about coil whine from this unit but I can’t attest to this myself and I’ve been running it for over a month now.

Was helping a friend out with a bad PSU and needed an urgent replacement – This was delivered extremely quick and had arrived VERY well packed, quick and safely. Installed very quickly, easily and the cables are labelled where they need to go. However – The box itself was not packaged discreetly or inside an Amazon Box and had me worried it could be stolen, however due to the price Amazon gives a code for the recipient which was very relieving. This is probably the best Power Supply to get for a relatively good price, I recommend it entirely and plan to promote it to others in need of new Power Supplies.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWorks fine for my system. 7800x3d and Rx 7700xt.
Plenty of power without any worry really.
Modular so less mess in case.
Does have coil whine but this was expected I can hear it if I go near my computer but if I have speakers on I can’t.
    Pretty good.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersThe Corsair RM850ePower Supply is a powerhouse of performance and efficiency, perfectly suited for demanding PC builds. Its fully modular design simplifies cable management, allowing for a clean and organized setup while ensuring maximum airflow within the case.

One of the standout features of this PSU is its low-noise operation. Even under heavy loads, the fan remains remarkably quiet, maintaining a peaceful computing environment without sacrificing performance. This is particularly appreciated during intense gaming sessions or when working on CPU-intensive tasks for extended periods.

With an 850-watt capacity, this PSU delivers ample power to support high-end components, making it suitable for enthusiasts and gamers alike. Its 80 PLUS Gold certification ensures high efficiency, translating to lower energy consumption and reduced operating costs over time.

Installation is straightforward, thanks to the included user manual and modular cables, which allow for easy customization based on the specific needs of your build. The build quality is excellent, as expected from Corsair, with sturdy construction and reliable components.

While the performance and features of the RM850e are top-notch, the price may be a deterrent for budget-conscious builders. However, considering its efficiency, reliability, and low-noise operation, the investment is justified for those seeking a premium power supply for their high-performance PC builds.

In summary, the Corsair RM850e is a compelling choice for enthusiasts who prioritize performance, efficiency, and quiet operation in their PC setups. Highly recommended.

    Not much to say here.

Good quality PSU, fully modular as described so you can choose the cables you require for your setup.

Noise level is pretty low, my case fans make more noise, lol.

1000w should be enough for most systems unless you’re using a power hungry CPU, GPU and lots of drives.

2023 I was upgrading my gaming computer and just needed to upgrade the powersupply as my other one kept cutting off and wasn’t very good. Knowing that this brand is known in the computer industry and it was on sale I wanted to give it a try and I am glad I did, my upgrade as increased the speeds and made it much more stable for gaming.

It will all last for another several years

These 2021 versions are much better than the later 2023 version IMO. If your doing a white build this is the perfect power supply to use. The only niggle was that the 24 pin cable was very tangled so I replaced it with a white extension cable & a white EZ DIY right angled connector (see photo) a much better look. I don’t think they’ll be around for much longer so if your looking for a white PSU get one now before there all gone…

5.0 out of 5 stars Exellent Power Supply

Plenty power for my rtx4080/78000x3d system. Good selection of cables. Good finish and build quality with only one niggle. The fan is noisy, it has a buzzing, rattling iritating noise when it starts up. If you have a high power draw system I think you will notice this more. It should have had a quiet fan switchable option like others in this price range as the constant stopping and starting makes the noise more noticeable.
Only four stars as at this price, the fan should be silent.

Grand unit bit stiff inserting plugs, prefer rounded cables, note didn’t realise the sata power cables are not compatible with different units, couldn’t work out why it wouldn’t start, with any data drivers plugged in only luck made me try the ones that came with the unit.

Good power Supply BUT! and a Big BUT at that! The cooling Fan in this Corsair 1000w PSU is by Far the loudest Fan in my system!(Of which there is 10)!Boy is it annoying! If you can stump up a bit more Cash buy yourself a Seasonic unless you like the Sound of Locusts! Not a Quality I would of expected from Corsair!

The unit came with all the proper cables was easy to install, runs pretty silently and I have had no issues with it so far. The system it is powering has a R9 5900x and RX7800XT and everything runs smoothly.

My first one lasted 10 months and then my GPU started blacking out. Changed all the cables etc and then bench tested everything. PSU had to be at fault. It was supplying power but maybe not enough. Amazon agreed return and refund so I sent old back and bought a new one. Ordering the White 750 I got a Black 750e. Not really sure whether the e is an upgrade or downgrade but I can live with the colour. GPU bounced back to life immediately.
I like the PSU, modular is good as I can keep cables to a minimum and it feels nice and solid. I cant really fault it other than the fact that the first one went bad, however return was hassle free. I liked it that much I bought the same again.

This was bought to replace a similar PSU that had recently failed.

It is so silent that I have to check the switch on my PC to see if it’s running!
Comes with enough leads to connect just about anything but I just used the leads already fitted to my motherboard from my old PSU.

Know what you’re buying here – this is essentially a budget version of Corsair’s X series of PSUs. It has a smaller fan, so they use that to claim that it’s quiet. I knew this when buying though, so do your research as I did, and the X series is only slightly louder. I usually wear headphones and it only spins up when it’s at load, but it is the loudest component in my computer, and I’ve got an RTX 4080 with 3 fans of about the same size!

This power supply runs so quietly that I’m now able to sleep with my pc switched on! No loud coil whine, no loud fan spinning constantly, it just works as intended. Highly recommend. Can’t go wrong with Corsair (much).

It’s well known in the tech world to always, always, ALWAYS buy a reputable brand! A bad power supply can destroy every single component in your computer, and at worst burst into flames!

With that being said, even when buying a reputable brand you don’t have to buy the most expensive, which is how I ended up buying this power supply from Corsair, it combined a great price with a well known reputation!

Both my wife and I have Corsair power supplies and we have had absolutely no problems with them, they just work!

This was also my first modular power supply, so I expected a few teething problems, but no, it was as simple as plugging in the things I needed, and had a ton of spare cables left over.

    Highly recommend!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersApart from looking the business in my son’s recently upgraded gaming system that uses a black and white colour scheme, it’s also a beast of a supply and way overkill for what he needs even with a RX 6750 XT GPU in there.
But with PC’s, more power than needed is never a bad thing.

Modular design means you can use only the cables that you need making cable management much easier. The individually white sleeved cables look good too and you get a great selection of connectors to choose from, importantly for those with bigger GPUs they supply 3 PCIe cables as well as 2 ATX (1 x 8 pin and 1 x 4 pin).

Overall an excellent PSU (I use the black version in my system). But, PSU prices are still ridiculous even though most other components are returning to more “normal” prices.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI’ve been using this power supply for a few weeks now and I have to say, “i got the power”.
My computer used to be louder than a room full of toddlers with vuvuzelas. Id have to wear headphones to muffle the sound of a clapped out PSU. But now, thanks to the Corsair RM750, my computer is so quite that i can hear the electrons playing harpsichord music in the circuits of my CPU.
If you’re looking for a power supply that will make your life simpler, happier and fill it with harpsichord music then get yourself a Corsair RM750!
