Fantastic item and brilliantly priced.
I have lawn ocd and I like to keep it green as possible.
Being able to have the grass watered early in the morning and later in evening without me having to be there is ideal for me.
It has kept my lawn healthy all throughout the summer.
The rain sensor built in is great, brilliant functionality and easy to use 🙂
It works fine for watering plants in my polytunnel. Its a little limited in functions but if you want to water a set time or twice a day etc its good. Its been splashed a bit by rain coming in the door and its still going.
Bought this for watering the garden during dry periods. Best time to water it is apparently very early in the morning (about 5 am) so it’s too early for me to get up. It works well and is easy to set up for various programmes as well as a simple manual override. You’ll need to read the manual to work out the best programme for your circumstances but am pretty sure you’ll be able to set it up for your needs. Display is clear. I’ve set it so each programme has one day and just activate the programme I need as required. Haven’t had it long enough to check out battery usage. If you want to use the inbuilt rain sensor then it really needs to be mounted vertically not at an angle like most garden taps, you can see in the picture the tap I now use which has two outlets, one vertical for the timer and one for general use. Ironically since I got the timer the weather in Scotland means I’ve not used it much just tested it out. Overall a good timer and for me a good buy.
The timer arrived on time, it is good value for the price and easy to set and use. I use it for pop up garden sprinklers, but with only two outlets I bought two timers for thr four pop up sprinklers and each outlet can be set individually. With grandchildren I found the feature of being able to lock the control buttons very useful. All in all a great water timer with lods of useful features. I can recommend this timer, it will not disapoint.
I really like this. Bought it to keep my lawn and plants going whilst I was on holiday and wasn’t really sure what to expect. But this is great – and a really good price when compared to others that are available. It has 3 timed settings, so you can have it come on at multiple times throughout the day, or have each timed setting come on at different intervals. You can set it by the minute on a 24hr clock and I particularly got this one as it has a rain sensor. I’ve tested this, and it works well. It has a sensor on the top and if that has a drop of water on it, then it doesn’t activate – which is pretty neat! I also like the fact that you can still use the water whilst it is attached if you want to use your hose for example, as it has a ‘use now’ function which bypasses the timed setting. All in, it has all the functionality that you could need and does everything very well. Would definitely recommend!
When you are away while having the sprinkler setup, it didn’t notify or show in the records if/whether the sprinkler worked as per the schedule and I had no idea until I returned home after a week. However, it seems to have worked and just didn’t update the records in the history. May be there is room for improvement there.
Only had for a few weeks so hard to say how it will stand the test of time. Would say it’s easy to set up and operate , seems relatively sturdy and is a reasonable price. Fingers crossed it lives up to it’s positive reviews.
Bought this to allow the garden to be watered after sun down for a couple of hours after I’ve gone to bed! Everything you need is in the box, including easy-to-follow instructions. Programming the waterer was very easy and once connected to your tap and hose it was just a waiting game. Waterer started and finished exactly when programmed – I have a rotary sprinkler so I can hear it, which is one of my favourite sounds! I’ve programmed it to run for 2 hours for 5 days, so will see how that goes, but so far I’m impressed and would recommend.
Is easy to use but I hadn’t noticed that the max watering time is 99 minutes which isn’t long enough for drip watering overnight for a new hedge. I have swapped it around with others that will do this so it isn’t wasted, but irritating that the max time is not that conspicuous in the info on website.
I’ve had 3 different water digital timers previously and none has lasted more than 3 seasons, even though disconnected and stored inside for the cold weather; and all quite expensive. So I decided this time to get the best reviewed / least expensive one I could find that did what we required.
It was very easy to set up and connect, stayed watertight at required pressure even though only tightened by hand. We use it fitted to an outside tap to control a remote watering system in a small greenhouse about 25 yards away on an upper terrace in a small garden. Once supplied with batteries and set up following the simple instructions in the supplied manual it worked straight from the box. The supplied male hose connector for the timer was not a watertight connection to my hose, but that was easily and quickly cured by substituting a Hozelock or Gardena connector.
*** Just one point to bear in mind. There is a more expensive version of this timer that has a rain sensor to turn off the timer if it rains. Of course, that would not be at all helpful if, like us, you are watering a relatively watertight greenhouse! And it doesn’t say in the write up that there is a means of turning off the rain sensor. ***
