Exceptionally easy to install. Once installed and mounted,it was recognised by my laptop immediately. Purchased at a great price.
Have had no issues with this ssd, proving to be fast for data transfer.
My laptop also only has PCIe v3, so I am not getting the most from it but in the future I plan on getting a machine with PCIe v4 and this stick will be making the move into it when that time comes. The speeds I am getting now are consistent with PCIe v3 so not complaining!
Been giving this thing a proper workout since I got it a few months back, so far it has performed really well… In Windows 10 Pro. In Linux Mint, the speeds are “almost” SATA SSD – 550MB/s and 370MB/s read and write. I tried everything to get Mint to bump up the speeds but gave up after wasting a night of sleep on it. Nothing I tried worked and not wanting to bork my installation, I gave up. No fault of the drive, just good ol’ quirky Linux. It might perform better when I get my hands on a more recent kernel.
Was moving a 550GB file to it when I first got it, from an external drive via the USB-C socket. It took just over 2 hours as the external couldn’t keep up…. and the P3’s junction temperature peaked and stayed at around 91 degrees Celsius for most of that time. That is what we call SUPER hot for a drive and I have probably mullered a year off its life with that blast haha. Fast forward a few months and the drive is still running as well as it did the first day I installed it. Hopefully I won’t have melted it before I get to plug it into a faster M.2 socket 🙂
The Crucial P3 Plus 4TB M.2 NVMe PCIe Gen4 SSD is an affordable, high-capacity storage option that delivers solid performance for a range of users, from gamers to content creators. With its large 4TB capacity and Gen4 speed, it’s designed to handle intensive workloads and massive data storage without breaking the bank. Not as fast as premium Gen4 SSDs
Overall, the Crucial P3 Plus offers a great mix of storage capacity, performance, and affordability, making it an excellent choice for those needing a high-capacity SSD for gaming, creative work, or general use.
Have been progressively upgrading an old Intel i5 based laptop. The data is now on a SSD rather than the previous HDD, but the M.2 SSD used as a system disk was getting full (I have multiple dual-boot operating systems), so with the prices of SSD M.2 drives dropping, upgrading (big – 128GB to 1 TB) seemed the way to go.
Crucial’s website allows you to specify your system and it then lists all its compatible products (drives & RAM). Amazon is quite a bit cheaper, so assuming that Amazon’s source is Crucial, transferring product codes from Crucial’s website to Amazon, allowed me to buy with confidence. With a 7-year-old i5 processor, there seemed little point in getting Crucial’s higher transfer rate M.2 drive (except I might be able to transfer it to a new system).
Compatibility seemed true to its word, swapped the drive, plugged in a Linux USB boot system, and it installed on the new drive without any issues. Old drive now in a USB caddy.
The result seems to be a system that is coping with a fairly heavy load (a massive swap file on this drive certainly helps)
I had this one for many years and it works so well and is so fast. With this good deal, I couldn’t help myself and got a second one of 4TB. 4800 MB/s is more than enough for anything you can throw at it. No need for the latest PCIe 5.0 NVME non-sense that will just burn in heat. This one stays cool. If you are looking to get a M.2. NVME PCIe 4.0 drive, get this one. I recommend.
My PC had a additional slot for another NVMe, and this product works very well and your notice that software and games will load fast. Great price for a NVMe.
The Crucial P3 Plus 1TB M.2 NVMe PCIe Gen4 SSD offers impressive value for those looking to upgrade their storage. It delivers solid performance with read speeds up to 5,000 MB/s, making it a great option for gaming, content creation, and general computing tasks. While it’s not the fastest Gen4 SSD available, it strikes a good balance between speed and affordability. The P3 Plus is also easy to install and reliable, making it an excellent choice for anyone needing a performance boost without breaking the bank.
Having used the gen3 2TB of this very drive for 9 months prior to purchasing this I can say the quality and simplicity of installation and use continues from third to fourth generation.
Installation of windows 11 was seamless with no problems being detected and formatted successfully by windows setup.
Speed is brilliantly fast, with the installation of Win 11 Pro taking a little under 6 minutes from turning on to first boot into desktop.
Temperature seems to run in the same region as its gen3 predecessor and remains relatively stable even when under heavy reads/writes.
Only time will tell how reliable it is, but based on a few issues I had with my gen3 model, I only hope they have been resolved with this gen4 – I will update this review if I encounter any issues but so far it works flawlessly.
Ideal as a boot drive or even just for running those AAA+ games, highly recommend Crucial/Micron for storage whenever possible.
Decent read and write speed. Easy to install and came with a screw, as dell xps 15 does not provide screw for second (empty) ssd space. To top it up price in my opinion was decent.
Swift delivery, package arrived in perfect condition and very quick for UK to Ireland.
Works as intended, all of my heavy loading screen games and games with large file sizes load like a dream. Helped me make the most of my gigabit internet by having a drive that can sustain high drive utilisation.
I bought this as a gift.
I didn’t actually choose it, it had been picked out already and had the specifications that were required. It came really quickly and took minutes to fit. I’m told it’s doing exactly what he wanted it to do and he’s very happy with it. So a great review all round.
1Tb drive, big step up from the stock 265Gb. Used clonezilla and an external hdd to create an image of the running system, and to restore to the new drive. Fitting was straightforward. Licence for basic acronis is included, goog for backups.

Final Thoughts: The Crucial P3 Plus 1TB SSD is a robust and speedy storage solution that won’t disappoint. Whether you’re building a new PC or upgrading an existing one, this SSD is a smart choice that combines performance with affordability.
Upgraded my Asus UX582 from 1TB to 4TB. Disk clone worked fine on second attempt – first attempt asked me to restart and didn’t continue cloning after restart. Once cloned the new drive would not boot, I had to change the SSD controller from Intel RAID to AHCI in the BIOS and boot into safe mode so windows would install the new drivers before it would boot normally. But now works a treat!
Apologies for the novel, but hopefully my experience with save considerable time and frustration to anyone else buying these SSD’s.
I purchased the 1TB version to replace an almost full 128GB SSD being used as the C Drive in my Lenovo ThinkCentre Tiny. I also purchased a USB caddy to install the new drive whilst I cloned the original C Drive.
Having downloaded the supplied Acronis software, I found it would not work, as an error message appeared saying I needed at least one Crucial SSD installed on my system — in other words, it did not recognise the new Crucial SSD I had just installed in the USB caddy. It was the same even if I initiated or formatted the new drive.
Now for my mistake! I searched online and found other free cloning software and proceeded to successfully clone my drive — only it wasn’t successful as I ended up with an additional partition basically equal in size to the difference between my old 128GB SSD and the new 2TB SSD. And in between them, was one of two recovery partitions and I did not know how to add these two “data” partitions together.
I spoke at length (over 3 hours) to Crucial by both their webchat and in person on the telephone. They tried to get me to use various 3rd party partition managers, but none of the free versions would do the trick. They also sent me a file called “AcronisTrueImageMicron_workaround.exe”. I clicked on that, and nothing happened. I gave up to have another think and decided to totally wipe the new drive using the DiskPart command and start from scratch.
I then worked it out and this is my advice if you find you cannot clone a drive using the supplied Crucial Acronis cloning software.
It transpires that the workaround file they sent me is not a programme in itself — it seems to act to alter their original software to recognise the new Crucial SSD in my USB caddy. For, having another go at running the cloning software, it then worked perfectly! I cloned my C Drive in a matter of minutes, turned off my PC, replaced the SSD and it booted up with no issue whatsoever — in about 2/3 the time it was doing before. I should add that to avoid any boot up conflicts, I temporarily disconnected my second internal 2.5″ SSD and then reinstalled it after the PC booted up for the first time.
So, if like me, The Acronis software does not recognise your new disk, speak with Crucial to get a copy of the workaround file. Do not use any other cloning software. Trust me, you will save yourself hours and hours!!!
I have been putting off buying an ssd since last year but for my projects I had no choice quick and easy to install computer runs more quitely and quicker good price aswell
I use this as a secondary SSD and it does pretty much everything I could ask of it for that purpose; it runs reasonably cool despite being in a tight part of a small form factor case, doesn’t suffer from unexpected pauses or stalls, and even though it’s not a record-setting performer is still fast enough I’ve never had to move a game to a different drive because it’s had asset streaming issues.
it is does very fast reading and write speed,
I use it for my MacBook air windows 11 and games mostly, save space for parallel windows 11 and games
intsallation easy- plug in format and go.
very affordable
I required to create virtual machines to install Oracle database on linux in a cluster environment. SSD with ample amount of storage alongwith fast speed was the basic requirement. My requirement was M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD and I found Crucial P3 Plus with speed of 5000MB/s. It also comes with a little screw to fixed it on motherboard, which is really a good point beacause if you dont have the screw on the board have to buy extra and wait for it to start work.
After the quick and easy installtion, I had created the disk volumes and tested the speed and it was really good. I am using it from more than a month and its doing its job perfectly. Really a good device with value for money.
This arrived in neat little plastic container, I wanted to use it in my HP laptop, it was easy to install, just plug and play, and now I have mega storage on my laptop for all the pics and videos of the family, super fast speeds loading videos and programmes.
Purchased one of these whilst on sale, was so impressed with the speed compared to a normal hard drive that I purchased another so now enough memory and fast gameplay I’ll ever really need.
Comes with a long limited warranty as well which is definitely a bonus.
Can’t fault them whatsoever and delivery was fast as always to.
I recently upgraded to the Crucial P3 1TB NVMe SSD, and I couldn’t be happier. The performance is blazing fast, and the 1TB capacity provides ample space for all my needs. What’s truly impressive is the price — it’s incredibly affordable for the quality and speed you get. This SSD is a game-changer without breaking the bank. Highly recommend!
I bought a terabyte drive to replace the stock 256g drive on my HP laptop. It was simplicity itself to swap over. I simply cloned my old drive to the new one using a HD enclosure, took the original out the machine and in with the new. All booted back up and running in minutes. Once I was happy, I cleaned out the original 250 gig drive, put it into the now empty HD enclosure and now have a useful sized memory stick. The new SSD is fast and responsive. 5 outta 5 from me
Installed it in my laptop so I don’t need to use USB drives for music for Rekordbox and combined with the CPU and Ram in the laptop this helped Rekordbox to analyze over 10k tracks in less than an hour, something the PC that I was using previously took nearly 4 hours to do.
If you want a fast drive that just works buy this, you won’t regret it and unlike the Lexar one I also bought you shouldn’t have any worries about this drive working in your pc/laptop.
Bought one of these to go with my Samsung Boot drive. I bought the 4tb one as a games storage and it has been working great. I moved all my games in rapid time and have not noticed any slow down compared to the Samsung which is rated much faster.
Highly recommended as either a main drive or an additional storage drive!
My only wish was that the motherboard post was also included and not just the single mounting screw.
I’ve been using Crucial drives in my PC’s, Laptops, MacBooks for years. Never had an issue. I highly recommend using their drive cloning software if your replacing a SSD/M.2, it’s easy to use and clones in no time
Fitted to my alienware m15 r6 with no problems, very easily & is running very smoothly. Only wish I was brave enough to clone the main 1Tb NVME 3 drive over with this being NVME 4 but happy with the speed of this & now having near enough 2Tb without losing too much on formatting. Cheaper than dells prices too
I bought this SSD and used it to upgrade my AsusVivoBook’s storage. The SSD comes with a free cloning software (which can be downloaded from Crucial’s website). The software is really useful so I don’t need to reinstall Windows, recreate partitions, and manage all files.
At least it is easy to fit when you realise the WiFi card uses the same M2 connector as the HDD. A little speed boost over the 256GB SSD that was in the device. Very happy with the price and capacity. It’s a pity it didn’t come with the Acronis drive cloning software they used to but for the price that is forgivable.
Very easy to install and the bootabliity is so easy just install and done. The performance is as any nvme I have bought two ans works the same as any othe
I’m not good at build so the small screws did challenge me a lot and I lost one of it (but thanks god there is a backup one). The SSD got a good price and good performance which solved my issue very well.
Good drive, works as described, as you would expect from Crucial!
Using with external USB caddy to clone my PC NVME system drive for instant recovery in the event of internal drive failure or virus
I bought this Crucial and a Samsung 970 Evo plus at the same time (both 1Tb). I ran some speed tests on them in order to decide which would be the drive I use for my laptop and which would be my spare. This Crucial drive was fast but a little inconsistent with it’s speeds. Therefore the Samsung won. The crucial overall was fractionally slower than the Samsung in my tests. It was also a lot more inconsistent speed wise than the Samsung. Good value for money though.
When I contemplate the problems that a failed disk can bring, I worry. It’s the broken applications, lost files, photographs, projects and work. And NVMe M2 disks are bought for speed. So whether it’s gaming, music making or photo editing, they tend to be at the core of what I’m doing. Storage and backup can be effected on slower disks that are a little cheaper, but still need to be reliable.
There are a few brands – like Samsung and Crucial, that seem to be ahead in the management and value stakes. So I confine my purchases to them.
Ease of installation will depend on what you’re doing. If you’re replacing a drive within a laptop, it can sometimes be fiddly, with a need to disassemble several parts of the machine to get at the drive housing. How clear and how easy that is, will depend on the information the laptop manufacturer makes available, not the drive manufacturer. It’s also worth finding out the maximum drive size (TB) that can be installed. Some CPUs and motherboards have their limits — exceeding this can be possible — but can involve diving into the BIOS and work-arounds. So it’s best to do some research.
These Crucial disks have the same form factor and installation options as other disks of their standard – by Crucial and other manufacturers – I’ve yet to see a difference between brands. Installing in an external housing is usually very straightforward.
For gaming, speed can be critical. I’ve not used this for gaming, it’s on a disk array on a powered external USB hub and the USB speed is the limiting factor. The manufacturer provides full details of the maximum read and write speeds that can be obtained.
I’ve found the value for money per GB of storage that Crucial offers is excellent.
The SSD arrived on time and was well packaged. Over the last few months I have bought several Crucial SSD from P3 to P5’s both SATA and NVMe. These drives are so easy to setup and this one was no different. It took only a few minutes from getting it out of the box to a working drive in my PC. This is also a nippy SSD. I am happy with my purchase would would recommend it especially at the price it is.
Wow.JUST WOW!This thing is blazing quick.i did not expect these read and write speeds from a 40 SSD from such a known company. When i recieved it my initial thoughts were on how fast windows downloaded and how quick it could boot up.Even with my pentium 6th Gen it still loaded up into the full windows menu in under 10 seconds.I were amazed as the old Toshiba NVME Gen3 SSD took about 2 minutes. It has relieved so much stress on my processor leaving it about 1% utilization most of the time i can even play GTA now at 60FPS which is unreal! The crucial executive storage manager provides many options to improve the SSD which is a big plus.If your looking for an SSD go no further with this SSD going up to 4TB and 5000,4800Mb/s Read and write speeds i personally think it is a steal
My ASUS Z390-A motherboard has two M.2 slots so I was able to add this 1TB NVMe SSD card then clone my 250GB C: boot disk to it using the Crucial data transfer software. I then swapped the M.2 cards over so the PC booted off the new 1TB card (couldn’t see how to change boot sequence in BIOS which would achieve the same thing). I was a bit apprehensive but it all worked well and I’m getting 3500 MB/s sequential read speeds. I download Crucial Storage Executive too which will be useful. I had an issue screwing down the loose end of the SDD to secure it as there was no support post in my PC, i found a workaround so not an insurmountable issue
Good Value for a 2TB M.2 and it also has good speeds.

Yes WOW!
My new PC build warranted some SSD drive storage space, after all, if I’m building a better PC its only going to be better if I upgrade the drives.
Along with the new motherboard, processor & RAM my newly built PC makes my 5 year old system look like a snail, when transferring data to/from this drive over my LAN the bottleneck is now the speed of my NICs, not the speed of the old mechanical drives.
Value for money, yes it was, I’m sure the price will drop shortly as with most PC components.
Long story short – if you need a new SSD and your motherboard is compatible, then go for it!
Easy to install. Crucial includes free access to a basic version of Acronis so you can clone your C: drive. My only trip-up was the fact that my motherboard Sata sockets weren’t all available at the same time as the M.2 sockets. Easily solved by checking the mobo manual for the right socket(s). I unplugged all the other drives and just left the original Sata C: drive and the new M.2 drive plugged in and changed the boot order in the BIOS. Once done, booted up, downloaded the Acronis software from the link provided by Crucial, followed the instructions, and it cloned the drive in approx 25 mins, resizing partitions appropriately. Switched off, unplugged the old C: drive, plugged in the storage drives and back into the BIOS. Changed the boot order to the new M.2 drive. Fired it up, and everything was just there. But faster!
Exceptionally easy to install. Once installed and mounted,it was recognised by my laptop immediately. Purchased at a great price.

This is a new company for me, this memory drive is on my personal computer as drive C and gives these speed parameters which you can see in the photo
5 outta 5 from me
It’s a Crucial NVME, it just works and it’s fast!

But faster!
