Good bye moths, good bye wasps, good bye spiders.. no more cat trying to throw herself out of my window. This netting is great! The size I bought was only big enough for window, but all I needed. Managed to have a great night sleep and it doesn’t prevent the breeze as much as you’d expect.
These work well. I got the wrong size but that was my fault but was still able to cut it to size . Ive been using it all summer and no flies or insects have been able to get it. I would buy again.
The Insect Stop Hook & Loop does its job as promised. I’ve purchased several, and while certain portions of the rolls adhered well, others required a bit of reinforcement. I resorted to using superglue for a permanent fix, which worked perfectly since I never intended to remove them. The product effectively keeps out larger pests, but smaller insects like midges can still sneak through. All in all, I’m quite satisfied with my purchase.
We live next to a farm and the flies are dreadful. (Copious birds which are lovely). This screen works really well. I used alcohol to clean The second time and the Velcro stuck well. It hasn’t with the first window which I didn’t clean. I wish there was more of the Velcro as there isn’t enough for the material but other than that I will buy again next year.
I’m very pleased with this window shield as it’s made of soft flexible material, very much like a net curtain. This means it’s easy to cut and the holes are extremely small so it doesn’t allow for any of the smallest flying insects to get in. Fortunately my window frame in the kitchen is made of metal so by using strong magnets – bought previously from Amazon- I can just push the magnets on top of the shield material and it holds up really well even when it’s very windy outside. When I get time I’ll spray the magnet bases white so that they blend in a bit more. I’m going to get another larger one later to use with my air conditioner hose
Living in the country on a farm, we get lots of insects lots of flies, now with a fly screen on my door and windows especially the kitchen windows I can open them for the fresh air I need, I first used them when I lived in Spain kept the mosquitoes ou
This is a great product, perfect size and easy to fit. Great for the office!
It has saved my sanity whilst on video calls and I love keeping the window open with no unwanted fly shaped interruptions
Gave 5 stars so review gets read but perhaps case buy cheap buy twice, I liked idea of the magnetic ones that when you finished with them you folded them away for next year but 25 + so went for these, first up if you think you can get two windows out of one kit yes you will get enough net,,,,, but not enough tape to cover both perimeters so you will have to chop bits,,,,you will need the dexterity of a surgeon to fit the net and a scalple sharp blade to cut it (forget scissors). So it’s up will stop bugs for sure but surely will only last a season and there must be a better way, already thinking making frames fitting net to them and using valcro pads to stick frames in place, oh dropped tape onto my window cill it stuck so well it pulled paint off on removal so adhesive is good.
This item arrived quickly. In the box you get the mesh and a roll of velcro. 4 step instructions on the box.
You’ll need a wipe or cloth to clean the velcro surface, scissors to cut the velcro and mesh to size (don’t cut mesh too early).
Velcro sticks well, mesh sticks to the velcro. Easy to set up, good wind/breeze passing through the mesh, fine enough to keep small bugs out. Not yet tested against dust and very tiny creepy crawlies, but so far so good. I’ll recommend it.
Good product, but it looses the stick if you continually open & close the window like we do. We cut a section for the handle because it just became annoying. Does the job other than tha
his was a great help all summer, the only down side is that the mesh frays quite a bit from being stuck and unstuck so often, but it still does the job
Installing:
– So previously I have tried glue adhesion ones before and the Velcro did not stick on for very long, this one has a good adhesion HOWEVER! Do not overlap the Velcro adhesions on top of each other or you will find that it does not stick at all on one end, so you have to cut the overlap and actually size up the Velcro perfectly. It is also worth noting that the Velcro is so good that upon trying to apply the netting for the first time you may end up fighting with the whole thing, it won’t be you that wins. The net always wins. Despite this, it’s fairly easy to install, providing you are good with your hands and don’t have cats or kids yanking or stealing. The only thing I would say is hard is actually cutting the mesh after installing. If like me you live in a new build house where space is of luxury, you gotta be very good with your hands and a good pair of textile scissors to get a clean cut. Mine ended up looking rather botched, though I don’t really care about this as long as it keeps the birds (newest evolution of British spiders) out of my room.
Quality:
– as it is a cheap product high expectations aren’t always on the agenda. However this product is an amazing little find. While I do have to comment that the netting feels rather cheap, it does the job so no complaints! Velcro and adhesion works amazingly too.
Fit for description?
– I bought this for the purpose of keeping spiders out of my room. As someone with a gross and deadly fear of spiders and given their recent evolution in the U.K. to massive birds almost (Australia you can take them back), I suppose this product will work amazingly! Though I have not yet tried it in real world application, the adhesion of the Velcro allows no gaps between the Velcro and mesh so I doubt the spider hybrids will be able to breach these walls. Although now I do fear they will just eat the mesh for lunch, then me following. If you have pets, please be mindful that this probably won’t support the weight of a cat, dog or child and will ultimately send them flying over a rainbow.
Comments:
– I have an outward opening window, therefore I have an annoying handle sticking out like a sore thumb. As long as you allow a generous amount to cover the handle as well as being able to reach the Velcro on all sides still, you will be totally fine.
– good luck to everyone facing these spiders this September, I don’t know if I will get through it either, though this does install just a little more hope!
So i’ll start by saying these do the job they are intended for. Flying insects in the house drives me potty, but in Summer, you need the windows open. I live near water so there is an abundance of flying creatures which seem to love an open window. Once installed, ive had my windows open constantly with no unwanted visitors. So from that perspective alone, great buy, that did exactly what i wanted.
Its a very basic concept though, which is probably over priced and looks a little cheap. Its a simple piece of mesh fabric, with a small roll of velcro tape. You cut the tape to size and stick to the frame surrounding the window. Once the velcro surrounds the window, you cut the mesh to size and simply stick it to the velcro to cover the window. Mesh allows airflow, whilst blocking most other items from entering. To close the window, just peel the mesh from the bottom strip of velcro to allow to reach the handle. Then when re-opening, just re-seal the mesh to velcro. As above, looks a bit meh and is very basic, but its done exactly what i wanted, so i cant really complain.
