The product looks very nice and is easy to use. It was recognised by the laptop and although the speed was slow, it burned my CDs okay. It is compatible with Windows 11 which is key as so many other external drives are not.
We got this hoping to use it with a Chromebook, but it was not detected. The listing gave no indication that it would be, but we were hopeful! However, on trying it with a Windows 10 PC it was instantly recognised. The drive’s sleek design and compatibility with both USB and USB-C ports are noteworthy features. It’s well-built and feels sturdy. The only minor drawback is the somewhat short USB cable, which may necessitate the use of an extender in some setups. Overall, it’s a good-value product that serves its purpose well, making it an essential tool for anyone needing access to CDs or DVDs in a modern computing environment which often lacks built-in drives.
I am writing this review after using it for 2 months of my use. This is a nice designed for a better looking and working perfectly fine product. One can buy it as per my suggestion.
As most laptops don’t come with a disk drive any more, this is an essential bit of kit. I know everything is digital these days, games, music, programs, etc, but I’ve still got CDs, and some of them don’t actually play in cd players, that’s when you need to back them up, or make a mix cd for your car for long journeys.
Anyway this is brilliant, just plug and play on Linux and windows. Works so well and can either be powered by standard usb, or by usb c.
Don’t hesitate, get this in your life, looks stylish too. I haven’t tried burning to it yet as I can’t find my blank discs!
