Love the design, love the weight of it, very sturdy no rocking when placed on concrete slab. Cat has knocked it over twice so be wary where you put it wouldn’t want to break a green house window
Made of cast iron so wont break but doesnt really look like a squirrel.
Also darker than mahogany not the lovely brown in the pic.
I gave it 4 s because it suitable for my needs
Heavy cast iron ornament, good quality, doesn’t rub off on your hands, not too big or too small.
The door to my garden is in my front room so I use it as a feeder for garden birds, and at the same time a door stop, but it would also make a nice indoor ornament, maybe pot pourri.
Needs drain holes:
I simply drilled two drain holes (it’s cast iron, so just go easy, so as not to break it) and it’s been fine.
The sight of the squirrels sitting next to eat while feeding is fun and the birds like it too (when they get a look in)
Every morning I’ve been waking up to a chorus of birds singing and thought what great idea it would be to buy some bird feeders to attract the birds. I did my research and searched the reams of listings for something that would not only be practical but would also be an attractive addition to my courtyard. So… to cut a long story short, I decided on this cute little cast iron squirrel after reading the reviews. Boy did I make the right decision… this is my best purchase of 2021. My hopes of attracting the birds have been exceeded… they absolutely love this squirrel. I now have robins, black birds, finches, sparrows and blue tits in my courtyard all day long. I can’t recommend this product enough… it’s been wonderful watching the birds feed and I thought I would share just one of the many videos I’ve taken. Highly recommended!
Great little bird feeder, the birds came to it straight away! I have put it on the rail around my decking and it is very heavy so won’t be knocked off or tipped over. It’s very cute and I recommend it. Some reviewers complained that it isn’t waterproof which is a factor but It can soon be emptied, washed and dried, easier than a bird table to maintain.
This is a great well made feeder for our wildlife, heavy as its of cast iron, which I like. However, the most disappointing thing is that is so small, it looked bigger on the pictures, also is dark brown. In a nutshell, it does its job…
Great product, I wasn’t sure if the squirrels would feed from it, but they are there most days and its lovely to watch them, the feeder is pretty heavy and stays upright in all weather, plus it looks good. I absolutely love this feeder, was a great buy.
Very solid and the design really eye catching, one of the best Christmas gifts according to our daughter, both her and her husband love it and are very impressed by it, they love squirrels and state they have more visitors since putting this squirrel feeder out, I would certainly recommend others interested in purchasing to go for i
I love it! It’s a bit smaller than I was expecting from the picture but it looks so cute in my garden! I bought it for the squirrels and larger birds who I don’t want raiding my main feeder, I haven’t seen the squirrel for a while but the birds seem to enjoy it. They were a bit wary at first, but it didn’t take them long to work out that it’s not a real squirrel, and it’s a pleasure to watch them sitting on the edge of it pecking at the bowl, or leaning over it from the ground if they’re bigger. It’s quite heavy for its size, and on a flat surface it doesn’t even wobble when a larger bird perches on it. A very cute, classy addition to the garden.
