Safety First

What should I do if my smoke alarm sounds?

In the event of a smoke alarm sounding:

  1. STAY CALM: Don’t panic, take immediate action to ensure your own safety and that of others.
  2. CHECK FOR SMOKE OR FIRE: Look for visible smoke or flames. If you see either, evacuate immediately.
  3. EVACUATE: Leave the premises as quickly as possible using the nearest exit. Do not use lifts. Take the stairs. Ensure everyone is accounted for and exits safely.
  4. CLOSE THE DOORS: Close doors behind you as you leave to slow the spread of smoke.
  5. CALL 999: Once outside, call the emergency services, providing the operator with your location and any details about the fire.
  6. DO NOT RE-ENTER: Do not go back into the building until it has been declared safe by the fire service.

Bought these to install into my new home, the old ones were waaayyy past the shelf life! I like the fact they have a 10year battery so no need to replace them and they look rather modern!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersFound these to be very well made and easy to set up. Had one slight problem (probably me) but the screw heads are small and can easily slip through the bracket going into the ceiling. I used my older screws from the original smoke alarms instead. Like I said it is most likely me. I used a manual screw driver.

Lots of chat about base plates for these bad boys.

These are marked as MP7. My previous plates, from a previous FireAngel model, are labeled as MP6.

They slot straight in, no need to replace.

Also, no need to drill, we used double sided stickers. Think that’s a poor effort? That’s the method the fire brigade used to install ours many years ago, so I’m happy. No drills, up in seconds.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersThese long life fire alarms are an excellent investment for home safety. The installation process is quick and straightforward, and the alarms come with clear instructions. With a lifespan of ten years, they offer peace of mind without the hassle of frequent battery changes.

The alarms are highly sensitive and responsive, providing reliable detection of smoke and fire. The loud alarm sound ensures that everyone in the house can hear it clearly, even from a distance.

Overall, these long life fire alarms combine durability, ease of use, and dependable performance, making them a top choice for keeping your home safe. Highly recommended!

I’ve had fire Angel before & had a couple that have fallen very short of the 10 year battery guarantee, hoping these latest 2 updated models have more staying power, after saying that they are very good & do what they’re supposed to do.

I had fitted since Decemeber, the one downstairs went off last week for no reason in the day, no one was cooking and no other smoke source? then the upstairs one went off at 6am today for no reason, not reliable and will not buy them again, waste of monies

These are great value & are much cheaper than the connected versions which are vastly overpriced, I work with electronic design engineers & the cost of the electronics to enables wireless connectivity is so cheap in comparison to what manufacturers are charging, it’s literally robbery!

These work perfectly well, my one gripe is with the design engineers who decided it would be a good idea NOT to keep the same hole spacing / pattern as the old fire angel models, which means you either have to drill a third hole in your ceiling or make another hole in the plastic, to fit the existing holes in your ceiling. Minor, but it’s pretty poor design continuity & tells me they’ve never thought about the customer or installer.

We replaced our old smoke alarms with two of these Fireangel smoke alarms. They are good quality and battery is longer lasting than our old ones. They were easy to fit with no issues, would recommend.

These are great built in battery, gives you an expiry date of when they should be replaced. Test alarm is much quieter than the actual alarm.
I had a small fire in the house and both of my alarms sounded in good time before the fire had chance to develop and before I could smell the smoke. Slowing me to react and prevent any real damage. Literally life savers.

Neat smoke alarm. Very quick to install by screwing onto the baseplate of my old FireAngel. Easy to test with the big central button. However I wish they would print the modal number on the alarm for future reference.

The Fireangel smoke alarms 10 year battery life gives you peace of mind. It also has a clean shape which fits in with most styles of decoration. It was also easy to install, just two screws. I had 2 fitted in 20 minutes.

Product works well, maybe a bit too well. I have one situated on the other side of my kitchen to my hob, boiling pasta or rice will set it off. As much of a downside this is, I guess it shows its efficiency!

Quick delivery speed. Good quality and value for money very easy to install and use. Not 2 big to look at so it’s not an eyesore. Very happy with my purchase

I would never trust a safety device from an unknown manufacturer.
This model from Fire Angel was a reasonable price and looks compact and neat.
Hopefully I’ll never find out how effective it can be.
However wouldn’t hesitate to buy again.

One gripe however is the amount of packaging and leaflets. I’m sure the paper used weighs more than the item.
10 large paper leaflets included, is that really necessary?

4.0 out of 5 stars Good price

A perfect replacement for two existing smoke alarms that were past their effectiveness date. Very easy to find x and set up, and the long life battery is an exceptionally good idea.

A very smart ‘boring’ item; that has managed to update the ‘necessities of safety’ in the Home! They look quite unobtrusive, yet serves the purpose well…..much better than my ancient & ugly ones!! ThankYou!
    They’re fab!!

We had some old fire angel alarms that stopped working, soon as these got delivered opened up and they went straight onto the old baseplates.
Saved bit of hassle hoping they last as long as the old ones

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis alarm is very good, no more false alarms from burnt toast! Although it is sometimes slightly concerning smelling food burning but the alarm not going off haha!
Have yet to find out if it actually does go off if ther is real danger.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThe smoke alarms in this twin pack are optical smoke alarms, which detects light being scattered by the presence of smoke particles. They are better at detecting smouldering fires than the old ‘ionising’ type alarms (which also contained radioactive material!) and are less likely to be set off by burnt toast – although you still shouldn’t use these alarms in the kitchen. Use a ‘heat’ alarm instead.

The alarm is more compact than my old ones and a lot more stylish. Some people have commented that the alarm is too quiet. This is because it has a ‘quiet test mode’ and this is the standard test mode if you press the test button. If you press the test button TWICE you will hear the alarm at full volume – but you’d better stand back as it is very loud!
