I use prescription glasses and was actually going to see if I could get some that would darken in the sun. Then I remembered clip ons, which would be a fraction of the price. These are really easy to use and a great variety. My mum immediately ran off with her favourite shade! Once abroad and in the sun, they worked great. I personally think these are better than buying prescription sunglasses because with these you get different shades. Very happy with purchase.
These are a decent set of clip-ons, the four daytime pairs are polarized, although not as strongly as the original brand. I like the blue tinting of the “mirrorshade” pair. The yellow “night driving” pair aren’t polarized, but that’s how it should be, and I’ve used them for late evening sessions on my computer to reduce blue wavelengths without having to reset my monitor or computer. The clip mechanisms are reasonably strong and adjust to deal with even the thick lens I need on my right eye.
The only reason I’ve knocked a star off my rating is because, the way the lenses are set up, you lose about 4mm at the top, which leaves them slightly undersized for my glasses, with a strip across the bottom unprotected. If you have glasses with fairly narrow lenses, then these are very good, indeed excellent for the price.
This multicoloured 5 pack cost me 7.99 which works out at approx. 1.60 per pair, that’s ridiculously cheap and usually if you buy cheap, you get cheap. Not in this case though, the yellow pair are great for night time driving as they significantly reduce glare from all forms of lighting, making it much safer to drive. The other are all amazing in the sun, with previous clip ons I’ve nearly always still had to squint when the sun is out and burning bright but with these clip ons, this doesn’t happen, I can walk around with eyes wide open, they’re dark enough to take all the glare away and clear enough that I can see everything while driving or walking. These are the best clip ons I’ve ever had and I’m very pleased that I bought them. Highly recommended!
You get 5 pairs of different coloured lenses including, grey, black, dark green, brown and yellow.
The best part is that the lenses are polarised and have UV protection, which is actually amazing considering the price point that these are being sold. In addition, they have the added bonus of being scratch resistant.
They are super easy to clip onto your glasses. There is a spring loaded catch near the centre nose section, which you push in to open and then simply apply to your glasses. The clip mechanism has a rubberised finish, so they won’t scratch your everyday glasses.
I purchased these purely for use when I am driving, as I actually have a pair of reactor lenses. However, anyone that has these will confess that whilst they work well outdoors, they don’t react when you are in the car, as the windscreen acts as a barrier preventing them from tinting. Therefore, I thought I’d give these a try, so that I can keep the sun out when driving. I am really glad that I decided to give them a go, as they are really easy to use and work very well in the car, so I no longer have to squint to see anything, which is fantastic.
These lenses can be used for a multitude of applications, other than the reason why I use them.
I would highly recommend these, they are fantastic value for money, you have options of colours and still can’t believe you get polarised lenses. An awesome set of clip-on glasses.
Given I’ve lost/misplaced my prescription sunglasses these clip on ones are a great temporary replacement. Don’t want to go and pay out for new sunnies when they could still turn up. However I need something as I’m light sensitive. Fve different shades, polarised and simple to fit. Can’t go wrong…
