I watched this when it first came out and loved it since.
The fights between Jackie and Brad are some of the best in any film I’ve seen and worth watching just for these alone.

A voir donc.

    Romantique Jackie !

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersCute, feel-good film with Jackie Chan starring. I’ve searched high and low for this as my partner was an extra in it. It’s a family-friendly over the top caper with the usual amazing fight scenes that only Jackie can do.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersSo I have always loved Jackie chan and enjoyed his movies, I don’t own a collection of them but this definitely has to be one of the favourite movies from my childhood. It’s a light romance movie which includes some action scenes.

The movie title is called Goregous (very obviously) because Bu, the girl he falls in love with, is gorgeous. The movies suitable for any ages, and will generally just make you laugh.

I don’t want to give anything away but if you enjoy Jackie Chan, a bit of romance, and laughter then you should buy it.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersRomantic comedy with a bit of martial arts, featuring the delighful Shui Qi as the female lead, who finds a message in a bottle in her Taiwanese fishing village and sets to to Hong Kong to find out who sent it.

Enjoyable film, with a lovely duet which features heavily in the soundtrack.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis is one of my favourite Jackie Chan movies, plus one of my favourite Shu Qi movies, as besides being a sweet love story spiced with non-belligerent action, it’s very well composed from every aspect, and the creative dialogue adds a special sparkle. Tony Leung, who’s an extremely versatile actor, is wonderfully cast as the gay Albert; and Australian Brad Allen as Alan – ‘cryptic’ character naming there – the honourable boxing opponent, makes a refreshing change to the shallow and stereotypical bad guy. Skill-wise he puts the ‘art’ in to martial art. Jackie Chan pretty much as usual plays Jackie Chan – always perfect casting for a good for a Jackie Chan movie! – while Shu Qi once again shows that she’s far more adaptable as a character actor than many critics give her credit for. I predict that as she gets older she’ll shine all the more. 5 Stars awarded as it’s joyful and flawlessly constructed easy viewing. It achieves the end it was designed to.

a love story for Jackie, but still an enjoyable watch, Jackie has been in a lot of better movies but this one is so different from what you normally expect, you cant knock him for trying to be the lover as he’s not the best looking guy in the world.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI love Jackie Chan and Shu Qi and to bring them together on one film was a must for me to buy. The story line was “cute” and amusing. Shu Qi played her chameleon role very well as the little village girl and then suddenly transformed into the most beautiful woman anyone would be proud to take to dinner!! I was not impressed with the fight scenes but enjoyed the wit Jackie always puts into these. In general, the film was funny, and well put together. Typical man meets girl and ends happy ever after. Some may find the story line a little “tame” but if you understand Asian culture then you can accept the simplicity of the story. If you liked Pretty Woman, there seems to be a similar trait here but in a very nice way. If you love Jackie and Shu Qi then it is a must to buy.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersThis movie is a recent addition to my collection of jackie’s movies, the movie is more of a drama then martial arts film which is an unusual role for Jackie to take. This new side to Jackie is refreshing and thoroughly enjoyable, his role adds to the depth of his movies and reputation.
There are only a few martial arts scenes in the movie, which is the only disappointment, but the scenes are well worth the wait. The final fight in the movie i would rate as one of his best fights, it is fast and action packed and definately top class. The story line has a feel good side to it, and has a heart warming ending.
I would strongly recommend this for any Jackie Chan fan, and also for any martial arts/action/drama fan also!

his is the worst film i own in my chan collection but even still it’s a jolly good yarn. The film is not Jackies usual affair but it’s refreshing to see him try a new role, the story is top class and the acting is very good, there’s nothing wrong with it as such but i can see why chan fans feel a bit cheated due to the lack of lots of fights but the fights are really major ones up to ten minutes a piece. This is more of a story based movi if your an actionjunkie then its a bit slow but for fans of Jackie it’s nice to see him deviate from the norm, it’s just a good film to watch when you feel like slobbing and eating micropizzas. Also the commentary by Jackie is excellent and worth buying just for his wise words.

Not as much action as Chan of old but easily enough to appreciate he is still the king of action. The love story between him and Bu is ok but he is old enough to be her father and that is a slight turn off. The Jacket and Motorbike scenes are typical brilliant Chan, And his two fights with Bruce (small white guy) are well filmed and show the awesome potential Bruce has to offer action cinema. All in all, well worth a watch but not as nutty as his earlier stuff
