Great compilation. I have Greatest Hits I from over 30 years ago and this one is great addition to my record collection. Even I’m not Queen fan in way to have their dicography, they have great songs that deserves to be listened and remebered. This compilation is “must have” for all who apreciate great music!
Very nice product, sounds great, however it lacks of antistatic inner sleeve and that’s the reason for 4 stars only! That’s simply not acceptable because it cost 20 cents or less!
As with the first greatest hits album this one again sounds exquisite. A must for anyone’s vinyl collection. The highest quality pressing, will serve you well for a long time and give you so much pleasure for the outlay. Its Queen, it sounds beautiful and has lovely quality sleeves aswell. I couldn’t be happier with my purchase. A band that loved their fans and always delivered, even on the quality of the vinyl. As one person said to me once when asked what music I liked and I replied ‘Queen’ they’re response was, ‘everyone likes Queen’, I don’t think they were wrong.
It’s, Qheen, and people know what they’re buying with this album. I already have the original greatest hits on vinyl and decided to complete the job. A case of “I want it all”. Not many bands have two such albums and the art-work is special. Securely packaged, it plays well and it was delivered on schedule.
Queen greatest hits 2 is a hell of a banger album queens later hits I love tracks like under pressure and The show must go on I personally love the exotic innuendo great head banging riffs from Brian may and just epic , epic singing from Freddie R.I.P you were something different Queen were the misfits but were the biggest band of the 80s if you like this album I would recommend Queen greatest hits 1 if you don’t already own it. 10/10
Got back into Vinyl last year during lockdown so bought this album and I have to say, if one has a good record player (not the crappy ones from HMV) then you’re in for a sonic treat. I’ve had the original CD version since new and that sounds excellent but the vinyl just sounds smoother to my lugholes so all good..
Back in the ’80’s we were told that the CD would sound so good you’d think the band was performing in the room, and that the death knell for LP’s had been sounded by little silver discs. Fast forward to now and guess what…the LP has had the last laugh, thanks to an almost Lazarus like comeback. I bought this CD back in the early ’90’s when it was first released, but this double 180g, half speed mastered reissue is sublime. I think if I could pick one track that made this purchase worth it, then it would have to be Who Wants To Live Forever. The song just seems to come alive and breathe, every nuance of the great Mercury’s delivery just seems to wash over me every time I hear it. The heavier tracks like I Want It All pounds into the brain without all the harshness that the CD has. Innuendo, with it’s Spanish guitar middle, played by Steve Howe is amazingly accurate in it’s reproduction. If one LP justifies my spending out on a Rega Planar 2, this is it. Not a duff track among this collection. Messrs. Mercury, May, Taylor & Deacon showing that “Talent will out, my dear” JUST BUY IT!!!!
Queen’s 2nd Greatest Hits package is a solid collection of material gleaned mostly from the 1980s with the brilliant ‘Under Pressure’ (featuring David Bowie), ‘It’s A Hard Life’, ‘Who Wants To Live Forever’ and the gorgeous ‘Innuendo’ standing out as my favourite tracks. Throw into the mix superb anthems such as ‘I Want It All’, ‘I Want To Break Free’, ‘Radio Ga Ga’, ‘A Kind Of Magic’ and ‘One Vision’ and you have a very potent brew albeit one that lacks the sheer brilliance of ‘Greatest Hits I’. My main gripe is the fact that the lovely ‘Las Palabras De Amor’ has been sidelined here and could easily have replaced one of several rather dull songs which actually charted much lower. Anyway, this album is well worth buying just to remind you how good the band were in the period leading up to the untimely demise of Freddie Mercury.
Not much new that one can add about Queen and their enduring music. I probably prefer the Volume 1 to this one, simply because their music became a bit too poppy and commercial during this stage of their career. That being said, most of these are classics in their own right. The sound from the latest 2011 remaster is what sets this collection (and Vol.1) apart from any previous editions, including the DTS96/24 & LPCM DVD version of the early 2,000’s. The sound has depth, warmth and clarity and covers a wide frequency range which is so different to both the original transfers and the terribly sounding high flat frequency CD’s & DVD’s issued at the turn of the millennia. This is as close to the ol’ vinyl sound that you will get (for now). Play it on a proper hi-fi with proper speakers though. A MP3 player just won’t do it justice…
