This product offers a unique and specialized functionality, converting two PC fans into versatile cooling tools for various applications beyond PCs. While marketing them primarily as PC fans may limit their appeal to some users, they excel in different scenarios. They can effectively cool consoles, routers, aid ventilation during soldering to remove fumes, and assist in drying small projects like paints and glues. Additionally, they work well for devices that heat up while charging, such as mobile phones.
The fans are well-designed and relatively quiet when running at their full speed of 2000 rpm, providing a decent trade-off between noise and performance. With nine fan blades, they efficiently circulate air, making them suitable for their intended purposes.
Though not without flaws, including the absence of feet, fixing options like tie holes, and anti-vibration pads, they are generally quite impressive considering their affordability. They offer three-speed settings (Low, Medium, High), with independent control for each fan, depending on the variant chosen.
Personally, I use these fans to keep my media centre cabinet cool during hot summer months, and they have proven efficient in maintaining lower temperatures for my PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, and networking gear. However, their cooling power may not suffice if you’re looking for a strong desk fan. On the positive side, both fans are conveniently powered by a single USB connector, which saves USB ports.
In conclusion, these fans are a solid option with multiple practical use cases, limited only by your imagination. With the possibility of powering them through a power bank, they can even be made portable. Despite a few drawbacks, they are reasonably priced and highly recommended for their performance and versatility.
My review is based around the current selling price of 25.99
Pros:
Well made
Good quality
Fairly quiet at lower speeds
Non CPU control (independent)
Fair price
Cons:
No feet or base if using standalone
No fixing options
No adhesive pads or anything to secure to console etc
These fans are powerful but quiet and can also can be easily installed. I simply cut a hole and attached it with screws, and it was good to go. In terms of performance the airflow is pretty impressive. Seems to be a reliable solution for cooling computers or servers preventing overheating.
I’m using this as a twin set of fans to cool a media unit that has a habit of getting quite hot. And these twin fans have been doing an admirable job keeping the hot air flowing out.
Each 120mm fan is individually switched (with three fan speeds and an “off”) and connect to a single USB-A port.
Distance between screwholes is 105mm around the square. Depth (grille to grille) is 33mm.
Stated power draw is 5v, 0.57a, max wattage (presumably for each fan) is 2.85w.
So far so good, and does what it says on the box.
Great value item handy for anywhere u need a bit of remote cooling Very smooth level control easy to use mine are currently cable tied above my bench for some airflow
I got these expecting them to be additional fans for my desktop computer, but in reality they are simply 2 stand along pc grade fans in housings with a single usb powersource.
The blurb shows that they can be used as a flexible cooling solution for devices that tend to run hot so I’m sure most folks will buy them with an application in mind.
I have found a use for my set in that they help to circulate the air in my greenhouse during the midday heat, hooked upto a powerbank they work great for this.
Honestly marketing this primarily as a PC fan isn’t gonna garner too much interest as I don’t know about most people but I wouldn’t want to have to mess around with this that is controlled separately to my other fans throughout my case. Just seems a lot of effort for something that could be done far easier with normal PWM fans.
However, for different applications these would be perfect, for example;
-Console Cooling
-Router Cooling
-Ventilation I.E Paint fumes
-Drying small projects, Paints, glues etc.
The fact you have to allows you to create an air flow loop. They’re pretty quiet but do get louder when on higher speeds.
Overall depending what you buy them for they could be great, just think labelling them as PC fans is a bad marketing personally. 4/5
This is a simple set of manually controllable 120mm fans, which have a variety of potential uses. An obvious use would be to augment the cooling of a gaming PC during the summer months when temps can go up by 10c above normal. I have an easy-access case so I can just open it an inch and manually change the fanspeed before and after a long gaming session. No need to plug things into the motherboard and mess up my standard cable routing.
As for performance, well at max speed they make a big difference to case airflow. Temps drop by 4-5 degrees within a minute or so during gaming. Of course at this speed they aren’t exactly quiet, as they are a pretty basic design. We aren’t talking Noctua levels of sound performance here, obviously.
Other uses include cooling down peripherals, such as routers, consoles, security cameras, or anything else that might get a bit too hot. You could also use them to dry paint on small models, miniatures etc. Just make sure they don’t fall onto them and chop them to pieces.
Overall I would say these are decent enough IF you have a specific use for them. If you need them just for PC case cooling I would say go for higher-spec traditional motherboard fans, they will be more efficient and powerful.
Firstly, I have used this both on my PC and ps4 and it has done a good job at cooling them both. They feel of good build quality and are both quite quiet and produce little noise. They create a good amount of air flow and were very easy to install. The USB cable has plenty of length and 3 different speed setting ranging for slowest to fastest speed. All in all these are a good set of fans which I found quite useful and they produce a good amount of air flow for cooling down electronics.
At 26 the price is very good for 2 decent 120mm fans with individual 3 stage (plus off) setting. The build quality is good even if I would be a bit careful in not twisting too many times the cable connecting to the fans and single appropriately powerful USB socket can feed these fans even when at full speed.
Noise level is also pretty good but air pressure is only average since the use of generic fans instead of (far more expensive) purposed made high pressure types
Great fans, quiet and decent airflow. The fans themself require one usb port with each fan being able to be individually controlled. Each fan is adorned with two fan grills, one on each side which helps protect you and the fan from any accidents that could cause damage. build quality is good and the cable length is decent.
They are super useful in range of instances and super versatile by using a usb port for power so they could be powered by a power bank.
What a great idea to make these fans USB connectable, so that they can be used cooling purposes outside the PC, like a router. Both fans use the same USB-A plug which saves use of available sockets on a single PC or other device, but it means that the two fans cannot be used separately in different locations. Using the pair of separate controllers, each fan can run at Off or 3 separate speeds. The cable length to the splitter is 60cm and the length from the splitter to each fan is 70m including the switch. Each fan has a guard front and back for safetly.
The fan speed is controlled by the in-line switch and the sound level at each speed is pleasantly quiet, certainly a lot quieter than the built-in fan in most power-supplies or gadgets like projectors, for example.
Good value for highly effective fans.
2 x 2000 RPM 120mm fans with two separate three-speed positive switch controllers with a fourth position being off; powered by a single shared USB socket.
If you’ve seen inside an average desktop case, you’ve probably seen this kind of fan before.
So this is essentially repackaging the 120mm case fan as a stand-alone fan x 2 sandwiched between protective wire mesh that can cool tech during the hotter month, or function as industrial look desk fan.
Price point is really hard to judge, it’s a niche product, and while comparable to a PC case fan set, it isn’t quite that, but could be with a little work.
Other things are odd too. There are no feet as such, it’s just the plastic fan body and cages screwed in place.
They have individual controllers, but one plug? It would have been more flexible if they had single plugs and a two-into-one adaptor.
If you are looking for a temporary fix in hot weather, that won’t be needed most of the time, these fans are an answer.
I got these for a little project
I have a man cave and have my xbox series x and ps5 in a unit, i wanted to extend airflow in the back of the unit these will help with that, These are 2000 RPM, which is more than enough to keep what i want a little cooler and help with the airflow, they are well made and durable i love the metal frame at the front as this helps protect the blades well. When in use the sound was barely noticeable and thats a bonus for me while gaming.
These can be powered via a usb port or external power supply without issues. Over all happy and they do what i need.
Over all super happy
KEYNICE 120mm Fan USB Computer Fans USB Case Fan, Dual PC Fan, 2000RPM USB Powered Cooling Fan with Metal Grill Guard, Compatible with Computer / PS4 / TV Box/AV Cabinet/Router
A very good size set of cooling fans .
Good build quality.
3 speed fan control slow/ medium and fast
USB power lead with two separate controls boxes.
The power lead is apox 4ft in length which is plenty long enough.
The fans are silent when switched on and give plenty of air flow .
In all a very good quality pair of desktop or PC casings .
Well made pair of fans, each has its own inline control with selection of 3 speeds and off. Both fans are powered from a single usb. Use these in a TV/computer desk to supply and extract air, (1 placed each side) of a PS4 pro in a recess as it needs the extra air movement for cooling.
Works great and can be adjusted for temperature control.
Video shows the 3 speeds and noise. Fairly quiet even at full speed. Gives a good movement of air.
Well priced for a pair.
Have to say these are quite a niche product converting two PC fans to cool products that are not a PC.
The purchase of these depends on what you are actually using it for so for a PC for example they can be useful as they are not PWM ( not CPU controlled ) so they act completely separate from what the CPU or even the GPU temperature. As they don’t mount to anything you may have to leave a side case off for it to work or modify your case so you can mount them and to access the switches and then power them off a motherboard USB port. Removing the screws on these fans is up to you as well but I tried these as they arrived.
At full speed they can run at 2000rpm which is quite high but the noise is a bit obtrusive at that level but it will be worth it when the hot days arrive.
They have 9 fan blades so quite efficient with the airflow and with the speed they run at they work quite good but with a PC they are not straight forward as they don’t mount in the case and they act more like a small desk fan.
For my casual use they do work perfectly fine but it depends if these are what you need or even a more conventional fan (s) are a better choice.
This really quite a simple setup, 2 120mm fans each has a protective grid on either side, so no accidental finger chops.
Each fan is controlled by a controller with 4 options, 1 being off and the other 3 are scaled speed options.
The Two separate cables come together to connect via a single USB plug.
The speed is decent, while not to fast it is fast enough to be pushing air around.
Each fan is 9 bladed, which means it should run a little quieter.
I tested mine in both USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports and the speeds, for me, seemed the same.
I am happy with these, they push a noticable amount of air and are easy to control individually.
Given the low rpm and voltage limitations you’re going to be restricted in the amount of air you can push with these things. That’s not to say they’re bad or poorly made, they’re not, just take note of the limitations.
Aside from the air current limitations they’re actually not bad. Quiet in operation and fan guards on each aspect of the fan. The controls are a simple resistor for speed regulation, that’s fine. Independently controlled too. All of this suggests these fans are meant for exterior cooling outside of the a PC case. I’ll be using them for keeping batteries cool during charging in the summer months or for transferring files from a DJI drone via QuickTransfer which leads to the drone overheating sometimes (being as the drone relies on ambient air cooling when in flight). For those types of cooling applications these fans are ideal, they provide a cooling column of airflow around any given object. They’re not really powerful enough to use as a cooling fan from your desk though, unless all you want is a very gentle, dispersed breeze.
I have used similar when soldering to keep fumes downwind. Leaded or unleaded solder isn’t kind to your lungs.
They’re not bad in fact and with the removal of the fan guards could be mounted inside a PC system for additional cooling, with the added benefit of an external control for summer months.
These KEYNICE 120mm Computer Fans seem a decent option for those looking for a quiet and efficient way to cool their computer. The fans are made of good quality materials and feel like they could last. They are also very easy to install, making them a great choice for even the most novice computer users.
The Fans come with a variety of features that make them a good value. They are 2000 RPM, which is more than enough to keep your computer cool and they also have a metal grill guard that protects the fans from dust and debris. The fans are also USB powered, so you can easily connect them to your computer or other devices.
I’ll be using these to make a powerful laptop cooling stand for my gaming laptop.
