I recently gifted my daughter the “Kids Makeup Sets for Girls” and I’m thrilled to share our experience with this fantastic product. She received it just yesterday and she’s already head over heels in love with it.

Got this for my little cousin she is 6 and loves playing dress up.

She loves the case which it all comes in and the case is full of every kind of makeup a kid could want – it’s easy to apply and it washes off easily from skin and clothing.

The nail varnishes peel off both nails and skin easily although they dont come out of clothes well.

It’s a great little kit and most kids will love it just make sure to supervise with the nail varnish

First thing I note upon receiving this make-up box is the fact that I can’t work out how to open it up! I hadn’t realised you need to press the red jewel on the front of the box for the lid to pop open. Silly me, I bet a child could work that one out! The drawers on either side slide out as are the two middle drawers. All the drawers are quite stiff and a little tricky to work with, which is why I am giving it 4* rather than 5*.

There are certainly a lot of components to this set, and it will take ages for it all to be discovered. A great gift for a sleepover party where everyone can join in using it, especially as its washable and easy to clean up. Once the make-up is finished with, I wonder if this could be transformed into a trinket box with a little work.

This little box contains a host of wonders for any young person looking to explore how to use makeup – everything from powder to eye-shadow, lipstick and nail polish and more, complete with brushes, nail files and more.

And it comes in a gloriously over the top “girly” case; it looks like it’s come straight from some Japanese Shojo anime filled with magical girls!

And that’s all fantastic, even if I’m likely to end up being a test subject.

However, the case itself is something of a nightmare: the drawers are very difficult to pull open, thanks to a combination of poor finishing/tolerances, and the little “love heart” handles, which are too small to get a good grip on.

And then there’s the top compartment; it took me a while to figure out that the red heart in the middle of the bow acts as the catch for the lid, and once opened, the tray for the nail varnish proved to be very difficult to both pull out and then to replace back in the box.

And I’m also fairly unimpressed by what comes with this, since it’s basically nothing: you just get the box and the case. Admittedly, there’s plenty of information on the Amazon listing, but that’s not something you’re likely to return to, especially if buying this as a present for someone else’s children, so I’d have preferred to have even a single piece of paper included, both to explain about the heart-latch, give a bit more detail on the ingredients of the various cosmetics and maybe even offer some tutorials on how to get started with your make-up adventures.

Overall, I think this is definitely a good “trainer” set for children, and decent enough value for money. But I do think that the case could be improved!
