We already have one of these expandable hoses for garden use, so got this one for cleaning the car. It’s a bright, cheerful blue, easy to see, and comes packed in a bag with a range of attachments. My son fixed it to the exterior tap for me and commented that it does leak a little, but it’s not a serious problem so far.
The beauty of these hoses is that they don;t take up much room when not in use, but expand to approximately three times their length when filled with water. This one claims to be 30m fully extended – I had a go at measuring it and thought it was a metre or so short of that, but it could have been due to low water pressure, or bad measurement, so no big deal.
The spray gun has 7 different settings from jet to mist, and all seem to work well, although the overall feel of the spray head is a little cheap and cheerful – I may replace it with another spare I have in the shed.
One note of warning – you need to treat these hoses relatively gently if you want them to last. Shut off the spray to allow the hose to fill before you start yanking it around as if you pull it too hard when it’s not extended, or only partially, the inner tube may snap.
