Both cards I bought had the correct capacity confirmed by a filling the card and then re-reading the contents. Speed during a full write of the disk was a consistent 29 MB/s. No problem so far.
It seems to work at the speeds advertised, and I had no issues with it yet, I chose this over the others as it was the cheapest option, and it works with no problem so I’m happy.
I bought this to use in my phone, an Oppo A53. I had over the years saved the vast majority of my CD collection onto my old laptop and tapped into it every now and then to add tracks to a 32gb card for the phone, but the size of the collection is 96gb. Then I spotted this at 7.99, didn’t have to format it, I just dragged and dropped all 96gb onto it and now I’ve got over 11000 tracks on my phone at my disposal. This is great value from a reliable brand in my humble opinion.
I bought this card for my GoPro. Massive storage and great speeds, ideal for when my camera is on for long periods. Amazing price too, highly recommend and would buy a second!
The Lexar 256GB card arrived within 24 hours and was safely packaged. It was fairly easy to open, always worry when they come in a thin carboard backed plastic pouch. Cutting the card carefully let the .SD card come out safely. It was easy to insert it into an Android phone, and after formatting it, the phone recognised the card and was OK. Good pricepoint, so recommended.
Excellent value for storage and as it’s definitely up to scratch with the specs. It makes it capable for my DJI drone to capture 2.7k video. I would say it is capable for 4k but have not tested. Easy to transfer data across and arrived well packaged.
I’m used to using Lexar cards in my SLR camera and I choose them above all else, so when buying MicroSD cards for some wireless headphones, I naturally chose Lexar. I’m sure they will be excellent as always. But be warned – the cards arrived not only unformatted (not a total surprise) but set as read only. Initially I couldn’t copy anything to them and my first attempts to remove the read only attribute via both Diskpart and Regedit failed. I eventually managed to clear the attribute using Diskpart but I had to set a partition and format the card before it would play ball. It wasn’t a huge problem, an annoyance, but for anyone who puts a card in and just expects it to ‘do what it says on the tin’ it might be more than an annoyance. I notice that another reviewer sent a card back ‘because it didn’t work’. I wonder if it arrived like mine and the reviewer didn’t realise? A warning on the packaging that the card needs to be set to read and be formatted would be a good idea, or it would be much better if the readonly attribute was removed before packaging these cards up.
This arrived less than 24 hours after I placed the order which was fantastic.
I wanted to use this in my Huawei Mate 20 Pro phone to double the storage from 128gb to 256gb as the videos from my wildlife camera are filling the storage up.
Installation is simple. I found a YouTube video on how to remove the SIM, as the tray in this phone is twin sided, the SIM going one side and the NM card the other. It will take a 2nd SIM, depending on the model, mine isn’t recent enough unfortunately.
Having pushed the SIM tray back into the phone and powered on, I downloaded an App to test the card. The True SD Capacity/Speed Test App is free and it confirmed that the card is working ok. Downside is that the tests take about 20 mins to write to the card and another 30 mins to read/check the data. Bit it proves the card works ok and isn’t faulty.
The next thing is to move folders from the main phone storage to the card, and it’s here that I ran into a snag, since having moved the folder for my videos, the wildlife camera App still wanted to save them to the main phone storage. After a couple of hours of trying I gave up, so it’s maybe best to check before you buy that you can still do what you need using storage on the card.
I believe you can install Apps on the card, in which case they might work ok using data on the card as well. I haven’t tried that yet.
However, if you want this to just download your own music, videos and movies to the phone, I can’t see that you would have any problems.
Hope this helps, but essentially it’s a relatively cheap way to increase the storage capacity of your phone if it takes an NM card instead of an SD card.
