For the price you pay this item is absolutely fine. I bought it more as a deterrent than an actual devise that’ll stop my low value trailer being stolen.
However if I am being picky then there are two issues that I should bring to your attention:
1) it can be difficult to get it seated fully in the tow hitch of the trailer. It takes a bit of brute force, but once it’s in it seems secure.
2) the lock is a ratchet type and I am a little unconvinced that it’ll stand up to any force. I suspect a crow bar would have it open quite quickly.
My advice, great for cheap trailers to act as a deterrent But do not buy it if you have a high value item your hoping to protect e.g. a caravan.
Used on a 5ft x 3ft trailer. Will stop theft by the opportunist but a determined prepared thief will just pick up the trailer and load it on a truck and even a wheel lock will not prevent that. A good value product that is easy to fit and will do a he job it is intended to do.
Ordered this for a trailer with a conventional hitch, with a little effort I was able to slide the locking bar through the hitch and drop it into the lock. High visibility colour.
Sturdy and strong material.
The first lock I’ve got that I have no worries in being cut.
It is a dood lock for the money. I used it to secure a trailer. It is a bit fiddly to fit putting the U bolt through the trailer handle then lifting it up to fit the yellow ball into the trailer and getting the u bolt into the lock.
