Easy to use and ideal for having a change of lighting. Loads of colours to choose and the app is simple to use. All round a well priced easily used produc
I’ve now purchased four of these bulbs and can say that they work brilliantly. I can’t comment on their longevity as they’ve only been in a couple of weeks.
What I can say is that they are super easy to set up and integrate with Alexa and have a decent range as one of them is in my summer house which is located at the opposite end of the property to my router in the garden (obviously 🙂 ).
When I can find a reason to buy more, I certainly will.
I think these lights are very clever and adaptable to a large range of colours and brightness. I was a bit flumoxed when I could not get them to work at first but when I e mailed Meross they gave me instructions that were easy to follow and they were soon working perfectly. I suggested to them that troubleshooting tips should be included with the lights.
So clear instructions, so easy to set up n connect up to Alexa. Really pleased how simple n smooth, let me change name as part of set up rather than faff creating group in Alexa just to change name. Highly recommend. (Unlike Blink camera set up which is rubbish n still not connected to Alexa)
Been trying so many different smart bulbs, but unfortunately most of them rely on 2.4ghz wifi…and my wifi is both 2.4ghz & 5ghz but i still didnt have any luck until , this bulb, it is perfect as it runs on my WiFi no problem.
I’m happy to provide positive feedback for the Meross smart light bulb. Here are some reasons why I think it’s a great product:
Easy to use: The Meross smart light bulb is very easy to install and set up. It can be controlled using the Meross app or through voice commands with Alexa or Google Assistant.
Versatile: The Meross smart light bulb offers a wide range of color options, so you can create the perfect atmosphere for any occasion. It also has a dimming feature, allowing you to adjust the brightness of the light.
Energy-efficient: The Meross smart light bulb uses LED technology, which is energy-efficient and helps save on electricity bills.
Convenient: With the Meross app, you can control your smart light bulb from anywhere, anytime. This is especially useful when you’re away from home and want to turn your lights on or off.
Reliable: The Meross smart light bulb has a long lifespan and is built to last. You can trust that it will provide consistent performance and quality lighting for years to come.
Overall, I highly recommend the Meross smart light bulb to anyone looking for a reliable, easy-to-use, and versatile lighting solution.
We have bought 2 packs of these now and they are good!
They do disconnect a lot and it can take a while to reconnect them, however for the price we don’t mind this.
It could be a lot worse!
Phillips sell ones like this for 25 per bulb which is so expensive but these are a good option if you want smart bulbs without the high end price!
Expensive for a bulb but its good. Can set times you want the light to turn on and off and can select a brightness which is great when you need more light or when you want to watch a movie. You can also have a vast array of colours for some reason or if you want your room to look like a brothel
The price advertised is 4.25/count but you only get two lamps for 16.99 which makes the unit price 8.50 not 4.25!
Customer service resolved this efficiently with a refund, but the price advertised should be corrected!
The actual bulbs work seemlessly with Alexa and the set-up using the smart phone app was a breeze.
Creating “routines” in the Alexa phone app is easy, and now my lights switch on/off at command, when my security cameras detect movement, or on a schedule as I require.
I was given these bulbs FOC for exchange of honest review.
I do have other smart bulbs from various manufactures however these were by far the easiest to setup and use.
Tip if using a wifi router with both 2.4GHz and 5GHz switch off the 5GHz whilst setting up these devices also use Meross app (available to iOS and Android).
It took approx 2 mins to have the bulb setup and working in the Meross app. Very straight forward and then 1 min in Alexa as the app discovered that it had a new device straight away.
The bulb whiteness goes from a cool 6500k to a warm 2700k, and every colour under the sun! These are dimmable (without dimmer switch) from 0% off to 100% the brightest.
I use these bulbs to set the colour of my office entrance so that my family know when I can be disturbed. So I set “entrance” to red when busy and “entrance” to green when available. I also set “entrance” to blue when the window is open so that I remember to close the window when leaving. It’s so easy to setup Alexa routines to do this automatically or I can just ask Alexa to “Change” or “Set” “Entrance” colour. The colour is chosen from the ones listed in the Alexa app. (See photo). Brightness is changed either directly in app or just ask Alexa to “Set “bulb name” to n% where n can be anything from 0 (dark) to 100 Brightess setting.
All in all I prefer using the Alexa app for controlling the bulbs as the Meross app can be a little difficult to select the right colour/brightness. However all in all really great bulbs that are very easy to use in everyday situations.
I will no doubt be purchasing more of these bulbs as they are so easy to use.
I wanted to be able to voice control my lights at home, without paying the exorbitant price for Philips Hue. After looking around on Amazon, I originally purchased Gosund bulbs, only to find out they wouldn’t link to Google Home, no matter what I did. After researching, I figured out it had something to do with IFTTT support being discontinued by the app maker (Smart Life). I returned the Gosund bulbs and left a 1-star review, and ordered these.
Took me five minutes to set two up. These use the Meross app, and when I first tried to link them I had the same issue I was having with the Gosund ones. My phone opened a screen asking me to login to Meross to authorise Google Home to manage the devices (through my Google Mini). I did this, but when I hit ‘Authorise’ it looked like it was loading, then closed and my Google Home was not connected. I tried it a second time and it linked immediately, then asked me to select a room. When I did that it instantly added the bulbs to my Google Home, and I can now voice control the lights in both bedrooms in my house. I’ve ordered another set just now – for the landing and living room.
It’s worth mentioning that these don’t seem to be able to flash or have a disco light effect which some people might want for parties, but you can change them to whatever colour and brightness you want. Most importantly, they work seamlessly with Google Home, without the price tag of Philips Hue. Hopefully I won’t run into any issues down the line, but if I do, I’ll update this review right away. If this review is 6 months old when you read it and I haven’t updated it, then you can take this as confirmation the bulbs still work with voice control through Google Home.
Another great product from Meross. I have a number of Meross products now, this is the latest to join my collection.
I have to say, they are really easy to set-up, the instructions in the Meross phone app are perfect to guide you through the installation.
They work as expected for brightness, on a par with the Phillips Hue bulbs which I also have. They are not quite as bright as the LifX Wi-Fi bulbs, but then they cost about one third of the price and you get two bulbs for that!
Another great attribute is the shape. They are very close to the size and shape bulbs we have all been used to, unlike some other brands.
I do like the way these Meross bulbs go through a colour change after finishing connecting; it’s cute.
You will notice I have given 4 stars, not 5. The only thing that lets them down for me is the controllability in the app. Don’t get me wrong, you can do everything you need to, it’s just not as refined as something like Philips Hue. To be honest, it’s not going to matter much as you will likely just control them with you home AI device, which works brilliantly.
In short. For the price they are, it’s an absolute bargain. If you are looking to start getting some funky colour lights that you can play with and don’t have a lot to spend, then do consider these. They are high quality and very inexpensive for what you get.
Have fun!
