Purchased this for vlogging and streaming, needed a wider shot for video without breaking the bank. this product is perfect for a good quality on a lower budget. it serves its purpose without sacrificing and arm or a leg for us out there that don’t make money off our video content lol. works greats, doesn’t distort the picture, creates a decently wider shot and build quality is great for the price.
My partner says its a Great product. Does what is says. Fits his zv-e10. He would love one with an even big field of view if this company makes one.

Deshalb habe ich das Teil zurckgeschickt , den hat man nur bei dem Set von Neewer fr 80 Euro dabei , oder mu ihn extra kaufen.
Obviously, there will be concessions when buying a $50 adapter that does wide/macro over a $500 dedicated wide angle lens or macro lens.
When it comes to wide-angle shooting, it doesn’t have the same quality as a dedicated lens, but if you want an affordable, fast, portable wide-angle that doesn’t distort or affect color and that does what it says, go ahead and get the set.
For macro shots, it does a credible job, but it’s limited to a very narrow range and you have to remove it if you want to take photos that are further away than that distance.
The construction is typical NEEWER solid all-metal. The kit comes with covers for both sides and a velvet sleeve.
i own quite a few Newer prducts, its a brand I trust for quality and cost.
In this kit you get the lens, a nice carry pouch.
This lens is designed to be used with an existing lens. Although stated to work for certain cameras, this will work with any lens of any brand. The purpose if this is to modify an existing lens for wide angle images.
The lens is very well made with quite some weight. The products is made from metal and glass and comes with a rear and front lens cover.
Natively this has a 40.5mm thread
I used this wth my A7C and it did a very reasonable job; is say there was a 10-20 percent wide angle effect as can be seen from my photos.
It is defined at 18mm so quite wide angle…ideal for close-ups.
So whats this for? I think it would be great for content creators who need to take close-up videos
At 40 quid this is quite expensive for what is does but cheaper than buying a dedicated lens for content vids.
Overall this is a pretty good high quality produc
A great and easy to use wide angle lens, it fits my Sony camera without issue, doesn’t compromise image quality and provides lovely wide-angle views/photos. Over all a great item and well worth it.
Si no quieres desembolsar 500 por un gran angular, es una compra recomendadisima.
Obviamente no tiene la misma calidad que un objetivo gran angular, si te dedicas o quieres dedicarte al video profesionalmente, no compres esto.
Pero si quieres un gran angular econmico, rpido, porttil, que no distorsione ni afecte al color y que haga lo que dice, cmpralo. En mi caso necesitaba “alejarme” de la cmara y no dispongo del espacio, con este accesorio es como si te distanciaras unos 50cm.
La construccin es sorprendentemente solida, todo metlico, lleva tapas para ambos lados y una funda de terciopelo, habra agradecido una funda rgida pero para la ridiculez que pagas, es ms que suficiente.
The build quality is good. The mounting mechanism works well. Easy to install. Both the wide-angle lens and the macro lens gave reasonably good results. Doesn’t distort like some cheaper lenses. Overall, It gives me great versatility in macro images and great landscape with a wide-angle lens.
To be honest I was a little apprehensive about this because I’ve bought a similar wide angle adapter before and found it introduced a lot of purple fringing and distortion at the edges of the image. Thankfully this is much better.
I tested it on the 16-50mm Sony lens and it screws nicely into the threads on the front of that lens with none of the scratchy grainy feeling you sometimes get.
If I look for it I can see some distortion and softness to the images taken with it, but as an overall image I think it’s perfectly acceptable, especially comparing to the cost of buying a dedicated wide angle lens.
I don’t have as much need for the macro lens, or very much experience using them but it’s fun to play with and you can certainly take some very striking shots. You do get a very small depth of field, but I think that comes with the territory rather than being any specifically to do with this adapter.
If you’re not ready to shell out for a dedicated wide angle and/or macro lens, I think this is an excellent starting point that while it’s not without its drawbacks in terms of absolute pixel-peeping image quality is definitely good enough to get some impressive results.
I can imagine the wide angle adapter in particular being useful for estate agents and similar where 100% image quality is less important than speed, portability and convenience.

The NEEWER 40.5mm HD Wide Angle Lens features an 18mm wide-angle lens with an 84-degree field of view. It gives you larger creative flexibility by allowing you to move the camera further away from the subject to capture wider views. The lens is also made of HD optical corrective glasses with multi-layers of nanocoatings, giving it a durable and reliable construction.
Furthermore, the lens has a bayonet mount adapter, making it compatible with Sony APS-C cameras that use lenses that can be exchanged, like the EPZ16-50mm F3.5-5.6OSS. However, the image quality generated by this lens is not particularly crisp or clear, lacking in colour and depth.
Overall, this lens is well-made, yet it does not produce quite the image quality I normally expect from this brand.

The close-up has a 40.5mm rear thread and is used by itself for close up work, focussing down to a few millimetres from the subject, and giving good edge to edge sharpness with no apparent edge distortion or fringing.
For wideangle applications the wideangle lens is screwed onto the front of the close-up to provide an approximate focal length of 16mm (35mm format equivalent) from a 24mm APS lens. As with the close-up lens I found this combination also gave good quality images. The results may not match up to the quality of a Sony 16mm APS prime or short zoom lens but the cost of this Neewer option may outweigh the better quality achieved from a far more expensive Sony lens.
It’s worth noting that the 40.5mm thread is compatible with the full frame 28-60mm kit lens for the Sony A7C and the close-up attachment gives great results. The wideangle combination however gives vignetting and edge blur, obviously because it’s not designed for a full frame sensor, so isn’t an option.
For APS-C cameras it’s great value for a dual function ultra compact lens kit.
This is a neat little gadget that gets you a wide-angle shot without having to buy a dedicated wide-angle lens, I think it’s also probably worth trying this before buying a dedicated lens to see if a wide-angle lens is for you, this basically screws onto the threads of a lens with a 40.5mm filter thread so made sure your lens is one of the compatible lenses, results look great to my eye, really crisp and sharp still, overall very happy with it, well worth a try.
The thread action is very smooth with no snagging as it threaded into the lens.
There was a definite increase to the wide angle already achievable from the lens and the image quality was good with only a small amount of barrel distortion – and no problems with auto focus.
Removing the front wide angle and leaves just the macro lens, and having the 16-50mm zoom helped with focal distance – as with most macro lens, the focal plane is quite narrow at any given focal distance.
At the largest zoom of 50mm, the focal distance was very close – a few mm, and the image was very good across the frame – but the focal plain was extremely tight… would ideally need to use a tripod and fine adjustable rail to get the best results.
At the wider range, 16mm, the image in the centre is ok and in focus but as the image moves out the focus starts dropping and the top and bottom become distorted (concave – bend in) and the sides started to become convex (bend-out).
Overall as a macro lens, at the 50mm zoom it worked well (albeit a very narrow focal plane), but at the wider zoom, only the centre was in focus and not distorted… although this could provide a nice effect on certain subjects.
So as a macro – yes it worked, and for the price tag it could provide some nice images… using a dedicated
macro lens is always going to be the best option (imho), or even using extension tubes.
So overall, at 66.99 (May 2023), it worked well as a wide angle extender lens, but I found it only OK as a macro lens – I found it did work but limited use… think I will stick with a dedicated macro lens.
Would I say 66.99 is worth it – personally I would say from a build quality perspective it is worth the money – from a functionality perspective… to be honest, it does work and if you consider how expensive lens can be, then I have to say yes – it’s a fair price.
