Not a terrible way to make it work but not a good option if you are used to premium gear.
Correct, manual only. camera hiccups with shooting since there is no communication from lens to body.
Not really worth it for me
Best to pay the premium or get new glass, sorry
Never knew such a product existed. An adapter to use my old dis-used Canon DSLR lenses with the love of my life Fujifilm X-T200 mirrorless camera and all for twenty quid! Upon arrival and first use I could not get the shutter to work. Copious Menu scrolling got me nowhere. I had a break.
A thought occurred during my break: I recalled there is a no lens photo option. Since the Canon lens would go in with no electrical contacts this means its invisible to the Fujifilm superstar. Finding the Manual for my camera I got into Button Dial Setting and Shutter No Lens. Click-on shutter found.
I have four lenses lined up. Only the 10-18mm would not focus, looking front-on I saw STM which this adapter won’t take, although strange its manual focus that is redundant not shutter. Even my 55-200mm Tamron lens works a treat.
Whether any old lens will be used is open to question. But at least the question exists, the options are open. The EFS 18-55mm may be better macro than my Fujifilm 16mm.
I switched from Canon to Fuji but I never gave up my best canon equipment, including my best prime lenses. Now I get to have some of the best of both worlds with this adapter. Fuji makes great lenses but my change to Fuji was really about form factor and color/imaging. I really love my Canon lenses and now I can use them. I do wish the autofocus worked on this adapter but for what I’m getting, I’m happy with this adapter.
This Canon to Fujifilm lens adapter works fine if you’re looking for a manual-focus only solution. If you want autofocus functionality, you’ll have to spend a bit more for something like a Fringer Pro adapter which provides that feature.
Recommended only for manual focus use.
This is what you’d come to expect from NEEWER.
The adapter is fully made of aluminium, and the lens fit snuggly on both sides of the mount.
Perfect for the purpose of adapting vintage glass!
Recommended.
This adapter works well but be aware that you will NOT have any electronic functionality. What this means is that you will have to not only manually focus but also set the aperture as well. If you’re planning on using a lens doesn’t have an aperture ring because its electronically controlled then get a different adapter. I’m using this adapter for vintage Canon EF compatible lenses on my X-T30 and works grea
I must say the build quality of this Neewer adapter is exceptional. It is an affordable option for those who wish to use Canon EF and EFS lenses with Fujifilm X system cameras. As of now, I am utilizing it with my Fujifilm XH2S camera, and I have paired it with a variety of Canon EF lenses, including the 24-105mm f4, 70-200mm f2.8, 50mm f1.4, and 85mm f1.4 models. I am pleased to report that all of these lenses work seamlessly with this adapter, without any issues or glitches (Manual Focus). Overall, I am extremely satisfied with this purchase and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and cost-effective way to expand their camera lens options.
Nikon has some outstanding deals on older glass . I love having the option to use adapters.
Please keep making these .
I’d actually love a fuji lens to Nikon body
Maybe ther mounts could be engineered to be reversible that would be neato!
I created a fairly long video explaining some of the quirks and benefits of the Neewer EF/EF-S to X Mount lens adapter.
Essentially your Canon EF and EF-S lenses will work fine, however the adapter does not seem to lock onto the camera, there is no “click” when putting the adapter onto the camera. And in my short time trialing this for review I realized how easy it would be to lose the lens off camera. However the adapter to the lens works fine, to the point where I had a look up on how to release it (please see video for detail). And that note I am a little annoyed that newer did not include any instruction.
I am not new to lens adaptation, I have adapted my EF and my Mamiya lenses to my GFX mount cameras with regularity. However I’ve never come across this sort of mechanism to release the lens from the adapter. It would have been nice of Neewer to include a quick instruction on how to at least release the lens. So I deducted half a star for lack of instruction. And a full star because I cannot figure out how to lock the adapter onto my camera. My EF lenses cost even more than my X mount bodies. I mean imagine if that set up falls off (cries in L glass).
I ordered this to mount my manual EF lenses onto my Fuji X-Pro1.
Over the years, I have purchased larger and heavier cameras. I started in digital photography with a Canon 300D, then a 7d, and then a 5dii. I made the switch to Fuji when they came out with the GFX50r, and within a year I moved up to the GFX100s. I’m getting older and older, but my cameras are getting heavier and heavier. After a recent trip that required a lot of walking, I decided to pick up something smaller to use as a walkaround camera. I got a used Fuji X-Pro1. I got this adaptor so that I could use my EF lenses on the Fuji.
There are no electrical contacts in this adaptor. That means that there is no communication between the camera and the lens. If you have an EF lens that depends on the camera for focusing and aperture control (pretty much all of the Canon EF lenses and most third-party lenses) this adaptor will not do much for you, because you will not be able to control the aperture and, if the lens is focus by wire, you won’t even be able to focus the lens. But if you have any manual focus lenses with aperture rings., you can attach them to your Fuji-X. I have a Samyang fisheye and a Rokinon 85mm that are fully manual lenses.
The Rokinon attached easily to the adaptor and locked on. The Samyang, though, never completely locked onto the adaptor. I would be leery of hanging the camera at my side with the Samyang attached. The Rokinon locked onto the adaptor as expected.
Adaptors are a great way to use vintage lenses with mirrorless cameras, but they all represent something of a compromise, So long as you understand that there may be situations in which a lens should fit but, for one reason or another, it does not fit perfectly, adaptors are a smart purchase.
