Great toy, well made just as you would expect from Nerf, these things will last for ages.
You do however get through the bullets very quickly and they are not reusable. Your going to need a lot of these.
Honestly, we had so much fun playing with this! It’s one of the best if not THE best nerf gun out there. It comes with 2 bags of 800 gel fire rounds which don’t hurt when they hit but do take you back a little bit. It’s easy to fill and refill as it comes with a detachable barrel. It’s rechargeable and you get a decent amount of play time once it’s fully charged. One of the best things about this nerf gun is the speed in which the pellets fire out of the gun! It really is one of the best nerf guns I’ve ever had the pleasure of playing with! It’s so worth the 51.99!
Love it, so easy to use, accurate enough and such a good rate of fire. Really frightened of the horrid gray poo demons terrifying my garden!
As a bonus, it’s also great fun for winning a water fight, as the pellets sting a little.
Easy to maintain and has kept on blasting for several months now, the pellets are easy to sort out too. Absolutely happy with that Nerf gun.
I thought this would have been battery operated but it is spring primed, either way, it’s the usual Nerf quality, feels plasticky but works as intended, good fun for the kids, but the balls don’t last long.
Unleashing hydrated rounds onto a make-shift battlefield is thrilling! The speed at which this blaster spews out rounds is electrifying. The choice between full-auto and semi-auto modes made each battle unique. Plus, the easy slide-in, slide-out rechargeable battery feature ensures the fun never has to stop for long. The protective eyewear is an excellent addition, focusing on safety alongside fun. A word of caution – those rounds cangeteverywhere!
Something a little different from nerf; gelfire rounds instead of your usual foam dart bullets. The set comes well presented in a cardboard box, you can see exactly what you’re getting. You get the new style blaster gun, hopper for the rounds, 300 gelgire rounds and a set of plastic glasses. Fairly easy and straightforward to use. You load the gel rounds into the hopper, this can hold up to 130, pull back the back lever and press the trigger to fire. Theres a trigger lock so they don’t go off by accident. No batteries needed, the loading of the blaster is spring action. It fires well, we haven’t had it jam at all. The gel rounds blast upon impact, so you do go across them pretty quickly. With them not being reusable, you do need to purchase more unlike with standard darts. Still alot of fun to be had and has been enjoyed by adults aswell as children. Just the downside of the upkeep of the gel rounds needed.
This gel gun is really fun to play with. My son has had lots of fun blasting his dad with it. It comes with some gel balls but not many. The gun itself is manual pump, so you can only shoot one shot at a time. It is really easy to operate and fill the hopper. My son said it was great fun and would definitely recommend it. It is good value for money and made well.
I love Nerf guns, they are so well made and are great fun to play, if a little manic and dangerous. The brand has always adapted with change, bringing out faster, bigger guns that fire automatically and can be charged up. This is the first time that I have seen a gelfire gun, like a soft shot you can get at a range. This is a toy version, but not for young children. The 14+ sounds about right and you even get the safety glasses included. The setup would be best with friends who also have similar weaponry.
The difference with this ‘Nerf Pro Gelfire Mythic Blaster’ and the foam style bullet versions that you may be aware of is the Gelfire elements. You get two packs of 800 small rounds that need hydrating and then placing in the hopper. You charge the battery via USB, and you can run the gun on single fire or auto. I suggest not using auto as the 800 rounds would go quickly.
On a good note, it is a very well-made toy. It feels great in the hand with a nice weight to it. The firing feels good. It is your typical Nerf quality. The gelfire rounds are ace, they have a nice trajectory, and they are not painful on impact, but you know you are hit. The problem is that the rounds are destroyed on impact so you will need to buy 800 more per play session and that will add up. This Nerf would work well for an older child interested in going to softround or paintball sessions but is not ready yet. You can have a local session that is less impact.
Engaging in friendly competition with this blaster offers a rush of adrenaline and excitement. The swift release of rounds in a continuous stream magnifies the thrill, while the safety features ensure peace of mind during intense games. The sheer joy of anticipating each round’s release delivers an energetic and invigorating playtime experience.
As a fan of Nerf products, I was excited to try the Nerf Pro Gelfire Legion Blaster. This spring-action blaster truly gives an immersive play experience with high-performance blasting. The best part? No batteries are required. Its ability to fire rounds continuously using slam fire action makes it a formidable addition to any Nerf battle setup.
The inclusion of 300 hydrated rounds was a nice touch – these soft, super absorbent polymer projectiles deliver a unique twist to the game, bursting upon impact. Furthermore, the 130-round capacity hopper is impressive, allowing for sustained fire without frequent reloading. It’s worth mentioning the thoughtful addition of protective eyewear and trigger lock, contributing to a safe and exciting play environment.
However, my enthusiasm was slightly dampened by a few practical considerations. The gel rounds, though fun, can’t be reused, which contrasts with the traditional reusable Nerf darts. Also, the cost of replacement rounds seems a bit high – with 1600 refills for 8, the costs can add up quickly if you’re an avid player. That being said, the unique and exhilarating experience offered by the Nerf Pro Gelfire Legion Blaster is undeniable, and those willing to invest in the rounds will find it an excellent addition to their arsenal.
Thank you for reading my honest review, I hope you found it helpful! 🙂
This is another great product from Nerf and as soon as you open it you can see it’s the usual quality that can stand up to the abuse kids (and adults) throw at it during battles. It has a nice weight and the size is good for older kids as well as grownups and the overall look is very appealing. It uses the Gelfire rounds which are little beads of liquid that burst on impact so the only real problem with this blaster is that you’ll soon run out of rounds (300 are included in the box) and have to keep purchasing more to continue using it so this is where the foam dart blasters are probably better. There is a pair of protective eyewear included in the box and anyone else playing whilst one of these is being used should also have protective eyewear, you also know if you’ve been hit by these rounds but they’re not painful.
Overall I really like this blaster as it’s a novel idea, looks good, has a good range and is a huge amount of fun, I just don’t like the fact you’ll soon run out of rounds and need to keep buying them so for that reason I’d probably stick with the foam dart blasters, but that aside did I say it was lots of fun 🙂
This is a very impressive, and remarkable, gel fire gun from Nerf. Included in the pack as well as the ‘Mythic Blaster’ there’s a rechargeable battery and a cable to charge it (you need to provide your own USB socket adapter), protective glasses and 1,600 hydrated rounds.
This isn’t a toy for young children. It’s really for 14+ children and adults. And to get enjoyment out of it you really need at least two. At a price of around 65 at time of review this is actually a mid-range gun from Nerf but I think it’s worth the money.
In use the blaster is accurate and fires rounds very quickly indeed – up to 10 a second. This means that ideally you’ll need an additional second hopper – each holds 800 rounds – and additional ammunition. This is available for 7.99 for a further 1,600 rounds. They get progressively cheaper for larger quantities.
The blaster is largely a plastic construction but seems well made. The barrel can be removed and the rear of the blaster can be extended for easier use. There’s also, very sensibly, a trigger lock.
The only real downside is the need for lots of ammunition and two blasters plus most need to be hydrated before use.
Overall thing it’s a lot of fun. Four stars.
Unlike other Nerf guns, this one doesn’t fire foam darts, but rather little hydrated polymer spheres. This has its plus points, but also one or two drawbacks.
First off, the polymer is pretty safe and non-toxic, however I’m unsure of the environmental impacts, though they claim that the gel breaks down harmlessly. It comes with two packets of spheres, one of which will fill the hopper that fits on top of the blaster, so you get two good sessions before needing to purchase more. You’re fairly limited as to purchasing options, at the moment; there are non-Nerf brand ones available, but I don’t know how compatible they are. If you haven’t used up a whole hopper, you can seal it with a lid until next time. What they have over the traditional foam darts is that they are ‘fire and forget’ – you don’t have to go around picking them up after and they are most likely not going to cause the same waste issues. Cleaning is an issue as the point where the hopper connects and inside the barrel should be cleaned after each use and no tool is provided. They do hurt a little, but only a little, nothing that would worry a teenager.
The blaster is battery powered and it comes with its own battery pack, which can be charged directly with a USB-C cable provided as long as you have a suitable charger. It has a detachable barrel and an extendable stock. A switch allows you to go from off to single shots to automatic. It isn’t hugely accurate and the hopper effectively blocks any attempts at line-of-sight aiming, but in general the firing cone is fairly narrow.
I’d say this is definitely better for older kids and adults – the packaging says 14+ – though it is unlikely to seriously hurt a younger child, it does require a little more responsibility. It’s a lot of fun, but would be more so with two.
I ordered this for my 38 year old husband.
He is very pleased with it, although a significant gripe is that the hopper is positioned right where the sights would be, so can block your view for aiming.
The battery is supplied (hurrah) rechargeable (yay -[comes with a USB cable for this but you do need your own wall charger]) and it has some charge straight out of the box so you don’t have to wait to play.
This isn’t a toy for younger children (Hasbro rate it 14+). While protective goggles are supplied, it does fire up to 10 rounds per second on a full battery. The rounds are like orbees and need to be hydrated, and there are 1600 hydrated rounds supplied. The hopper has an 800 round capacity, but given how fast it can empty when used in automatic mode, you’ll find you get through the gelfire rounds fast, so a younger (or impatient) user may struggle with waiting for rounds to hydrate. There’s also the issue of storing hydrated rounds.
They do burst on impact and cleanup is minimal, and there were no issues with jams etc that can be an issue with some of the cheaper / unbranded gel blasters. I am not convinced this justifies the price point, and I do think you need to factor in the cost of nerf branded replacement rounds – they aren’t cheap either.
It’s also the sort of toy that’s more fun with a friend (i.e. you need a couple of them really) – if you buy this for one child and they have a sibling or best friend, you can expect the other one to be requesting one too. They will definitely want one. Lots of fun to be had, but at a very pricey price point. Having had a play with cheaper gel blasters, hubby isn’t convinced this is *that* much better (although he very much likes it).
Great toy, and good fun for shooting small Gel pellets at targets in the backyard.
The plastic is detailed and durable and feels like it will last a long time. The gun feels nice in the hand and is well balanced. This product does not require batteries and can be easily reloaded by pouring more Gelfire rounds into the revisor, it seems to hold about 100 rounds (I have not counted them specifically). The reload mechanism is easy and fast to use, although it does ‘jam’ occasionally.
The gun has a trigger lock which is a feature that I really liked. The biggest issue I found with this Gun is that it has no sights like some of the other Nerf Gun products do. Although, it does seem quite accurate as you can get a ‘feel’ for where the shot will go. It does appear that you can purchase aftermarket ‘laser’ sights that clip on the Gun.
The shots can travel a good distance they travel a good 4m before they tend to drop and then carry on a couple of meters more.
When fired the Gel Pellets pop and the smalls parts go everywhere, these type of Gel balls shrink once shot but I do wonder if the residue dissolves over time.
I have given this 4 out of 5 stars as I am very happy with this product but you will need to keep purchasing more replacement Gel shots, the residue that they leave behind and the lack of sights.
