Workes great, sadly not in use currently as our Cat had to be out down a couple of weeks after we got it 🙁
Installed neatly on a wood effect paneled composite back door.
Bought this to replace a broken very old cat flap so can’t really comment on the installation as all I had to do was remove the old one and install the new one! Everything lined up nicely (once I’d got the rusty old bolts off) but the shorter bolts weren’t long enough for our wooden door. Ended up using the longer ones but cutting them down to size.
Overall, this wouldn’t be my first choice of cat flap as the guillotine-like locking panel is a bit annoying compared to more modern 4-way locking designs. But it’s very fairly priced and I guess you get what you pay for. Sturdy plastic, decent bolts, and good installation instructions.
Cat flaps are great! it gives the cat freedom to come and go. All 3 of my cats can fit through this cat flap. I replaced a smaller one with this and I am so glad I did. The cats no longer struggle to get through..my cats are not fat, they are quite tall. I am happy that they are all back to using the cat flap.
Good, Once I fitted it! but really bad to fit. Had lots of 2pac filling between door to put some strength back in the door. It’s covers, front and back, so lots of work to make it look right between the inside of the door, and the screws that go through are too close to the inside, leaves little/no room for adjustment. But overall, once finished it’s good value for the money.
Bought this for large cats and two small dogs
The flap is great but very noisy
Metal bar on the door keeps falling off which keeps the door fixed to the magne
It was a little tricky to fit compared to an internal door of the same brand. My cats can exit easily but they struggle to get back in. The always try to lift the outside flap instead of simply pushing through. The magnet seems to need a really good push.
It’s good, but my bold cat struggles to get through it as the magnet is so strong. So we have had to prop it open for him. Doesn’t have a locking system other than the magnet part, I was hoping for a proper lock so it couldn’t open if something tried to push on the flap. It’s easy to get through it from the outside but going through it from the inside is harder for the cat. It has a design case flap around the main window flap, both of these have to be raised up for the cat to get through. So it’s quite a heavy push.
I’m pretty happy with my first ever cat flap. It was low cost at 7.99. I didn’t give it 5 stars because it was the biggest pain in the neck to install due to the need to cut the screws to size and continually readjust the frame due to the flap stiffening and getting stuck when opened in one direction, although freely swinging when opened in the other direction.
This is not enough to put me off purchasing another because it was just simply a very fiddly project, is all.
I’ve used mine in a uPVC wall panel with no need to purchase the tunnel. However, if I were to install it through a thicker material like a door, I think I would use a tunnel for aesthetic reasons.
I bought it last night and installed it tonight.
All in all, I’m happy with it and look forward to seeing my two kitties use it in the morning. I’m sick of continually get meowed at to open and close the back door for her highnesses.
