All the money I used to spend on Ink – this is going to be cost effective. So easy to set up (takes less than 5mins) I can print via my iPhone or Laptop.
I was looking for a printer that I could put in my back pack for the odd form that I had to print from time to time. I have to say that this is great. I had my doubts but the connectivity is great and the image quality is excellent. As it is heat printed, time will tell how long the quality of the printed page will last. Also, the paper is very thin but of good quality. Look, you are not going to get the features of a large printer in an object that’s a little bigger than a large pencil case but what it does do is give you good hard copy on the spot with no wires or ink needed. BTW, the paper is relatively cheap and easy to get as well.
It is as advertised, it is at first complicated but once you play around with it it is good.
It is easy to download the app.
I have found it good as no ink needed, but you will need the thermal printing paper for it to work .
You get about 3 – 4 sheets of thermal paper with it which is handy (however, i recommend getting more just in case).
I got next day delivery and it came on time.
It takes up less space than an average paper printer would.
Prints in black & white only.
It doesn’t print until the paper is added to the machine, the thermal paper will say which way to hold it.
Insert the paper into the machine and it will automatically roll it to start printing what you have set to print on the app.
Overall, im really happy with this and i will never go back to brick-like printers.
I got this because I was sick of getting expensive ink. It’s almost perfect for the office as it just needs thermal paper and the fact it’s portable is just an added bonus. Just black and white.
The concept that it would never worry me for replacing cartridges or issues like drying out after not being used for a while or worrying about wasting ink after accidentally printing dark pictures, is fantastic. Space-saving and lightweight and mobile shapes are all brilliant.
However, it’s noisy and needs to feed paper one by one, and you cannot expect exactly laser-sharp quality printing.
Nevertheless, it fits well for my purpose, and I like the thin and strong, and the sheen texture of thermal paper.
I really wasn’t expecting great things but there are YouTube videos on this particular printer so I purchased and I’m really pleased with it so far!
The only thing that bugs me is the app, it doesn’t let you resize the image so you have to adjust it on procreate then send it to print from an iPad/tablet or phone unless you want a large stencil that is. Hope this helps.
EDIT***** you can now edit the size of the image via the phomemo app!! 🙂 it’s been updated!
Easy to carry around, simple instructions, you can choose the density of the print and the best part for me: bluetooth
It took me less than 5min to set up and print a stencil
The only “issue” (that’s not a product fault by any means) is the thermal paper (Spirit) is letter size instead of A4 so its slightly wider- 5mm
If you want a perfect stencil trim it before! although even a little bit crumpled is possible to use
The box is a branded, white box that slides open similarly to the apple watch series 3 box. Inside the box you are greeted by the printer, held in place by some rather high-quality foam to protect the printer during shipping. Included in the box you get the printer, a high-quality cloth carrying bag for protecting the printer, a USB C to USB A cable, instruction manuals and a USB thumb drive including the drivers required for use on MacOS and Windows.
Setting up:
Setting the printer up is extremely easy. On iPhone all you have to do is scan the QR code on top of the printer, download the app, connect to the printer, and print what you want. Setting up on Windows is slightly more difficult. You need to either download the drivers off the included USB thumb drive or you can type in the link on top of the printer which will take you to a website where you can download the most up to date driver available. Once you go through the setup for the drivers, all you need to do is plug the printer into the computer and click print on the app you are using.
Printing and quality:
The print quality is great for text, and I was surprised at how well it can print photos in black and white. The print speed is quick and similar to the speed of a standard inkjet printer. This printer is great for a home office or on-the-go. Battery life is great, you can print quite a lot of sheets before it runs out of energy. This printer, being phomemo, will most likely be very reliable. No need to worry about paper jams or the printer roller lines that most laser or inkjet printers eventually develop. The printer feels high quality and well put together, even compared to a similar priced printer from another manufacturer.
The battery life lasts a long time with use. The small form factor is great for backpack portability.
Really handy printer to have around the house, easy to use and perfect for when you quickly need to print a document off. Print quality is good not up to a regular printer but that is too be expected. For me definitely worth having around the house.
I love the way it is small enough to fit on your desk and it is small and efficient
It prints pretty good as i can do it from my phone
I love that it does not need ink and require me to buy it
For cons i wouldnt say much this product is next to perfect but i would say it was slightly hard to set up as the instuctions werent clea
– Prints fast
– Is portable
– It is rechargeable so can be used when out
– Good quality pictures
– Doesn’t need ink or toner
– Simple to set up and use, uses Bluetooth connection
– Doesn’t take up space as it’s compact
– Includes a pouch to protect it
Cons-
– Thermal paper is expensive but as it doesn’t need ink it balances out
– Have to manually feed the paper in unless using fanfold
– Whilst the printer is portable, need to carry paper as-well
– Can’t adjust picture position and size in the app
– Can only print on one side of thermal pape
The thing what made me get it it’s was compact so I can take it in my bag and take it to work if needed. The quality of the print there’s 3 settings light medium and high print depending how light your wanting the pri
Due to my job, I often need to print an invoice or a standardised letter on the go. For reasons beyond the scope of this review, digital copies are not permitted. So I was keen to find a way to be able to print a page or two every so often without having to go back to the office and printing and then sending through the post. So for me this was a worthwhile purchase.
Pros
– Good size and comes with a velvet carry pouch, which is a nice touch. It’s a bit heavy but not to the point that it compromises on portability.
– Print quality is decent for text and simple logos. I printed a test page and was actually quite impressed.
– Prints very quickly.
– As a thermal printer, it doesn’t require ink which is undoubtedly the most costly aspect of running a regular printer.
– It connects seamlessly to my iPhone and my laptop. The iOS app is quite easy to use and it offers a lot of options and some fun graphics.
Cons
– Only prints in black and white.
– It is quite fiddly to get the paper straight but you get the hang of it eventually. So far I have gotten the paper at an ever so slight angle a couple of times but the printer didn’t jam -the print was just slightly off.
– Thermal paper is quite expensive.
– You can only print on one side of the paper.
Overall, I think that if you have a use for it, it is a great solution.
Personally, I bought a bundle of 100 sheets of paper for around 20 and they will probably last me a year or two as I will use it sparingly. Without the need for ink, the running costs are on par with a regular, non-portable printer. The price of the printer itself is on the high side, but it is a quality product and one of the few offerings in the market right now.
Ideal for printing on the go or if wanting to save space at home. Plus no need to buy cartridges. The paper it comes with isn’t the best so would recommend looking around. Printing was quicker than I was expecting so will be fine for larger documents.
I received my portable A4 printer yesterday
It is a nice compact machine and obviously no separate printer inks required
So first of all obviously the unpacking feeling like a secret agent that has just got the latest up-to-date gadget ha ha I digress
It is beautifully packed well supported at either end buy foam cushions inside you get the printer, USB cable, paper, USB Driver stick and a beautiful pouch to carry it in.
Set it up very easy turn on Scan the code follow the instructions and I’m printing in a matter of seconds.
Printing is quick and officiant if you do it right on my first try the paper went through very smoothly
Nothing happened bit of a blonde moment put paper in the wrong way round even though it clearly states THIS SIDE UP on the paper itself.
Take two of printing paper in THIS SIDE UP
Press print paper comes out of the other end looking at the other side is something wrong have I done something wrong it’s a very faint print out#SchoolForTheGifted when you turn it over oh very good print out.
No cartridges required which is a bonus and make it more transportable.
The negatives paper is not the best quality quite thin
Not much selection of paper but might be something that improves as time goes on.
Overall I am a very happy Secret agent ha ha
