Maybe it’s only me, but I found it quite uneasy to use. I will give it more time for sure. The quality overall is great and the heat is easy controllable.

I have almost waist length, thick, blonde (bleached) hair. The curler creates soft relaxed waves that last all day, and usually into the second day. For me, personally, the curls last longer if styled the day after washing.
I’ve not noticed any damage to my hair beyond what heat styling in general brings. Definitely no smell of burning.
It took me a couple of goes to get used to using the thicker barrel. I would highly recommend these, I’m so glad I got them!

The product was used and tested by my wife whose comments and feedback were used as the basis for this review. With very straight fine hair I find any kind of styling tricky often having to resort to heated curlers and plenty of firm hold spray etc. This is a corded model fitted with a long 3m swivel cord for convenience whilst styling. This model is more in line with one you might find in a professional hair salon with better performance and control than a budget model, the curler looks stunning with its unusual style and design. The curler is ergonomically designed and the handle fits nicely into my hands, the wand is tapered at the end allowing easy curling around of hair. Overall the curling wand performs very well.
One of the very best curlers I ever tried but it gets so very hot at the tip (I only went up to 180 for my hair) that not even the glove supplied is enough. It claims that the tip is cool to the touch whilst styling, but I never found it cool to touch. Also, I’m not quite sure if the glove provided as actually heat proof (description says ‘styling gloves’) — my fingers were burnt to no end. Despite these hot temperatures, the wand never smoked my hair and my curls came out shiny and looking glamorous. The curls come out perfect in a matter of seconds from the first attempt — JUST WOW!
Allows you to make curls from as tight as 25mm to a whooping 38mm and this produces some of the best face defining curls that you could get with such a curler. It heats up super-fast (within 30 seconds — I tested and verified this) and the curler itself glides through hair flawlessly. There is no sticking, tugging or pulling at all. The wand looks stylish, the green/teal colour is gorgeous, and the controls are easy to use. Also comes with a durable storage pouch.
I have given 4 stars due to the hot tip and the ineffective gloves, but with a decent pair of heat-proof gloves this is a solid 5-star wand with Remington’s renowned reliability and superb construction quality.
Now, the negatives — the control buttons should ideally be changed to switches, as when using the device unwittingly and unwillingly you end up changing the temperature setting, as it is not the easiest device to use and you do need to learn a trick or two to get it down to the letter! So, what you end up doing is pressing the buttons accidentally all the while! The infinity setting is good, but again is switched off easily without any prior warning in the same fashion as the temperature controls are messed with — so it would be far better if these were sliders, not easy to press buttons, butit’s minor really.
Tip — do not be me, do not start at your roots and try to twist a lock of hair around the barrel and hold the endlike a silly blond, burning your fingers through the gloves! Learn a trick — start a few cm from the ends, twist and secure the end of the lock you are dealing with by twisting it under the strand of hair you are wrapping the barrel in and then twist it all the way to the roots and hold — this way you will not burn your fingers and your ends will be nice and curly too! Believe it or not, it was my hairdresser who taught me to use these, as all the previous curling wands I had a few actually, I did the total opposite and burnt myself to the moon and back countless times! The Remington Advance Coconut Therapy Curling wand arrived well packaged by Amazon. The packaging for the curling wand is smart and stylish and looks professional. The box boasts some of its features which includes; integrated sensors, advanced ceramic coated barrel, 25 to 38mm barrel for soft curls, temperature controls up to 210 and fast heat up in 30 seconds. Everything looks good so far. Inside is the curling wand, a storage bag, a heat protective glove and a simple set of instructions.
My hair is thick and waist length (as pictured), I curled my hair while it was clean and dry and I had no other products in my hair. I section my hair and start at the hair around my neck.
The curling wand does heat up very quickly and I can easily turn the heat up to 210 using the buttons. I twist some hair around the middle of the barrel and wait around 30 seconds, the effect this creates is large waves (as pictured). I did find that curling the hair around my ears meant I could feel the heat from the curling wand on my ears, reminding me not to burn myself as it could be easily done. I like the effect the curling wand gives and they make light work of my thick hair.
I don’t normally curl my hair as it already has a natural wave to it, but I will definitely use this curling wand for when I want my hair to look a bit nicer. They heat up very quickly and curl my hair with no problems, but the wand itself does emit a lot of heat which I could feel on the side of my head which was uncomfortable. But I would recommend these for how easy they are to use.
