Exellent for use in the kitchen for a quick clean up without too much trouble, or anywhere else for that matter. whole house cleaning on a regular basis would be a bit too much for its capacity though, its brilliant for what we need it for. Its well designed and great value for its quality.
The suction power is a lot less these days. I used to love my amazon basics hoover with canister, did the job.
Now finally switching to cordless and from what I’ve seen none under 100 does the proper suction contact.
I’m not nostalgic, just disappointed in th3 industry.
Wanted a simple and cheep cordless vacuum. Been very impressed so far has good suction power and the powered brush helps pick up more dirt. The hand held function is also good for clean stairs and furniture
If you are a student or a first time buyer (or anyone who is otherwise on a budget/likely to live in a small space) then this is a fantastic hoover.
Pros:
It is so small and lightweight that a job that usually takes me over an hour for cleaning 3 floors (currently in a narrow houseshare with multiple levels, leaves me sweating lugging around a traditional hoover!) I was able to do with this in 30 mins in total ease. It folds up tiny, perfect for sticking in a cupboard or spare nook/corner. It also worked really well both on tiles and on carpet.
I am yet to see how well this works on real hardwood floors (which I will have when I move in to my small 1 bed apartment soon – hence why I purchased this!)
Cons:
The suction power really isn’t great compared to a traditional plugged in hoover, and no long nozzle makes the job of hoovering up spiders (my big fear) quite unpleasant! I’ve been able to hoover up daddy long-legs, you have to chase them down and tilt the handheld hoover up to make sure they get sucked in rather than it just swooping them up for you, so I don’t know what I will do if I come face to face with anything larger! For me this is a major con.
Similarly, larger objects will need picked up by hand, rather than just being able to suck it up.
Finally, there’s not much capacity for dirt so more frequent cleaning and maintenance will be required. It’s not an ‘easy release’ type bin so you have to manually lift the filter out and tilt it in (so a bit more messy/unpleasant, especially as I hoover up spiders!) It also doesn’t come with a spare filter and I’ve searched and have been unable to come across where I can buy these (even the official Russel Hobbs website isn’t selling them!)
All in all however for my first hoover purchase and my current needs and budget I am very happy with this as I feel with how easy it is to use I’d be able to just hoover more frequently, rather than putting it off and then doing a deep clean.
If budget isn’t so much of a concern, I would recommend spending a bit more if it counteracts some of the cons mentioned above, for now I imagine I will make good use of it for at least 3 years before being in a position to splurge 200 odd quid on a hoover, for 76 it really is a great deal!
Can not say enough about this brilliant hoover .. I suffer with tennis elbow this hoover is perfect for me .. not heavy very light .. easy to empty.. recharge and store .. does my whole 3 bedroom house in one go .. and price is grea
Love this 2in 1 cordless hoover, I have hard floors and a dog this helps so much with collecting the dog hair and quicker then getting out my Harry hoover. Highly recommend this
Works well. 2 suction modes when used as an upright. Reduced battery life when in higher setting.
The rotating brush on the upright works well but you need a screwdriver or similar to take it out for cleaning. Not a serious problem, just a niggle.
Probably the worst thing is that the instructions for use are poor. For example there is nothing in them about the rotating brush, and although they mention cleaning the filter it is not explained well.
I find the filter easy to clean by using an old dish washing brush to brush off the dust that clings to it. And simply holding it under running cold water left it a good as new and it dried very quickly (although I believe it says to leave it to dry for 24 hours in the instruction manual?). I would like to have purchased a spare filter so that I could pop a clean one whilst the original one was drying – but I cannot find anywhere that sells the spare filters?
If there is one negative point, the suction power is fine for my needs but it is not as good as my old Black & Decker cordless stick cleaner. Having said that, I didn’t want to buy another Black and Decker because I didn’t like the pleated filters on it.
I use the high suction on the heavy used areas of the house and other rooms on the lighter suction. If you use it on full the suction you will obviously need to charge more often. But I am very happy with it, it is so easy to use. I have had mine for about a month now. Well worth the money.
I bought because my Henry is too heavy to drag upstairs and down. So far so good I’ve just done whole house in 15 mins. Early days it’s just arrived but happy
Currently charging well. Came in original package with bits n bobs. No missing parts. Easy to assemble and dismantle parts of hoover. Light weight for sure! Goodbye backpacks! Will update once used.
it has plenty of suction, is light and manoeuvrable. Worked fine on carpet and woodblock floor, even cleaned up a doormat which was impressive. Easy to start using as only one piece to clip on. The folding handle will be useful to me. Arrived sooner than supplier said it would and was well packaged. Seems well priced compared with similar sorts of cordless cleaners.
Potential down sides? Well it seems maybe a bit flimsy, (hence 4 stars not 5) especially for example the on/off switch, it is fine at the moment, I just wonder how it will hold up. RH do however provide a two year warranty so this is maybe not an issue, need to keep the packaging just in case!
So I’m pleased so far. If it proves reliable it will have been a good buy.
