An efficient cleaner for carpets and hard floors. Easy to convert to hand-held. Flexible head for awkward corners. Bought specifically for upstairs and is doing a good job. Tucked away in the airing cupboard when not in use. Only observation is that it has a small dust bin but it is easy to empty and clean.
Exellent for use in the kitchen for a quick clean up without too much trouble, or anywhere else for that matter. whole house cleaning on a regular basis would be a bit too much for its capacity though, its brilliant for what we need it for. Its well designed and great value for its quality.
The suction power is a lot less these days. I used to love my amazon basics hoover with canister, did the job.
Now finally switching to cordless and from what I’ve seen none under 100 does the proper suction contact.
I’m not nostalgic, just disappointed in th3 industry.
A smart looking item and really does the job. Light to handle with good suction. The only downside was that there was no instruction manual and although the item was easily assembled it would be handy to know the charging time and the available spare parts. Information on the Russell Hobbs website wasn’t really available for this model .
Wanted a simple and cheep cordless vacuum. Been very impressed so far has good suction power and the powered brush helps pick up more dirt. The hand held function is also good for clean stairs and furniture
Easy to assemble, great tools, takes seconds to transfer to a hand held. The tools are just what I wanted. The little brushes on the sides of the main cleaner get into the edges like no other vac I have had. Long lasting use, stands on its own, light to use and empties easily, no messing about. a reputable make at a decent price. Can’t believe I wasted my money on all those expensive vacs that break down so soon, requiring new parts at sky-high prices.
Bought this vacuum cleaner for my son who stays in a student residence. It works very well and his room-mates borrow it all the time. Its suction power is quite good and it can vacuum carpets or hard floors very well. It is easy to empty and clean. The hand vacuum is also super good for just small area to clean. Just one point: the battery only last for 15mins, not much more than that at full power. Charging will take 1hour approx. For this reason, I only recommend it for small places/studios. If you stay in an apartment over 50sqm, you will not be able to vacuum your whole place on one charge.
Well after I finally managed to prise the handheld off the machine I was plesently surprised by this cordless vac. I had to prise the handheld off with a knife, it must have been very stiff being new, good job I didn’t break it but Its the only way I could get it off. Now it comes off and clicks back on no problem. This hoover is very lightweight and manovrable. Runtime is good. Picks up a lot for a cordless. I’ve only used it once, I used the high setting and it did my sml 2 bed flat and still had run time left. I’m disabled in a wheelchair with arthritis and this hoover is good for me. I’m impressed. Much better than my shark stick vac which was not as good imo as this one and a lot more expensive. Also picks up a lot of my cats hair as you can see by the pic.
If you are a student or a first time buyer (or anyone who is otherwise on a budget/likely to live in a small space) then this is a fantastic hoover.
Pros:
It is so small and lightweight that a job that usually takes me over an hour for cleaning 3 floors (currently in a narrow houseshare with multiple levels, leaves me sweating lugging around a traditional hoover!) I was able to do with this in 30 mins in total ease. It folds up tiny, perfect for sticking in a cupboard or spare nook/corner. It also worked really well both on tiles and on carpet.
I am yet to see how well this works on real hardwood floors (which I will have when I move in to my small 1 bed apartment soon – hence why I purchased this!)
Cons:
The suction power really isn’t great compared to a traditional plugged in hoover, and no long nozzle makes the job of hoovering up spiders (my big fear) quite unpleasant! I’ve been able to hoover up daddy long-legs, you have to chase them down and tilt the handheld hoover up to make sure they get sucked in rather than it just swooping them up for you, so I don’t know what I will do if I come face to face with anything larger! For me this is a major con.
Similarly, larger objects will need picked up by hand, rather than just being able to suck it up.
Finally, there’s not much capacity for dirt so more frequent cleaning and maintenance will be required. It’s not an ‘easy release’ type bin so you have to manually lift the filter out and tilt it in (so a bit more messy/unpleasant, especially as I hoover up spiders!) It also doesn’t come with a spare filter and I’ve searched and have been unable to come across where I can buy these (even the official Russel Hobbs website isn’t selling them!)
All in all however for my first hoover purchase and my current needs and budget I am very happy with this as I feel with how easy it is to use I’d be able to just hoover more frequently, rather than putting it off and then doing a deep clean.
If budget isn’t so much of a concern, I would recommend spending a bit more if it counteracts some of the cons mentioned above, for now I imagine I will make good use of it for at least 3 years before being in a position to splurge 200 odd quid on a hoover, for 76 it really is a great deal!
Can not say enough about this brilliant hoover .. I suffer with tennis elbow this hoover is perfect for me .. not heavy very light .. easy to empty.. recharge and store .. does my whole 3 bedroom house in one go .. and price is grea
This was purchased to replace a similar type of cleaner, which has given good service for about 8 Years, but was becoming unreliable. I chose this because of the excellent reviews, not to mention the lower price! I am delighted with my decision.
Love this 2in 1 cordless hoover, I have hard floors and a dog this helps so much with collecting the dog hair and quicker then getting out my Harry hoover. Highly recommend this
Works well. 2 suction modes when used as an upright. Reduced battery life when in higher setting.
The rotating brush on the upright works well but you need a screwdriver or similar to take it out for cleaning. Not a serious problem, just a niggle.
Probably the worst thing is that the instructions for use are poor. For example there is nothing in them about the rotating brush, and although they mention cleaning the filter it is not explained well.
This Russell Hobbs RHSV2211 arrived today and I tried it out for about 10 minutes and it worked well on my hard floors, a short pile carpet and my 2 microfibre door mats. But then it stopped so I plugged the charger in where I thought it should be plugged in and left it for about 5 hours – but nothing happened. Turns out I had plugged it into the wrong hole! LOL. When I told my daughter it wasn’t charging and showed her the diagrams on the front of the manual, she discovered that it should be plugged in to a hole on the side of the handheld unit (see video). She also found that the 2-in-1 Brush & Crevice Tool fitted in a hole at the back (see pic 2). So it now appears to be charging successfully
I find the filter easy to clean by using an old dish washing brush to brush off the dust that clings to it. And simply holding it under running cold water left it a good as new and it dried very quickly (although I believe it says to leave it to dry for 24 hours in the instruction manual?). I would like to have purchased a spare filter so that I could pop a clean one whilst the original one was drying – but I cannot find anywhere that sells the spare filters?
If there is one negative point, the suction power is fine for my needs but it is not as good as my old Black & Decker cordless stick cleaner. Having said that, I didn’t want to buy another Black and Decker because I didn’t like the pleated filters on it.
I have wanted to get a Dyson for some time now, but having just moved house, I really didn’t need to spend 300 on a hoover and I am so glad I didn’t. This hoover does the job. It’s easy to use, light and I love how it gets into every little corner. Would highly recommend.
I am nicely surprised with this cordless hoover. It tracks very well, maneuvers well in tight corners and suction is good. The down side is that the dirt compartment is very small, and dust gets attached onto the filter. So, washing filters will be compulsory. One down side is, despite best efforts I have not been able to find a way to register for the free 2 year warranty. The russell hobby website does not seem to recognise the model, not any of the numbers that are on a sticker.
I have to say I love it, it’s light, it’s powerful, it’s easy to handle. I charge mine up and I use it every day. I don’t need to recharge for a week.
I use the high suction on the heavy used areas of the house and other rooms on the lighter suction. If you use it on full the suction you will obviously need to charge more often. But I am very happy with it, it is so easy to use. I have had mine for about a month now. Well worth the money.
I bought because my Henry is too heavy to drag upstairs and down. So far so good I’ve just done whole house in 15 mins. Early days it’s just arrived but happy
Currently charging well. Came in original package with bits n bobs. No missing parts. Easy to assemble and dismantle parts of hoover. Light weight for sure! Goodbye backpacks! Will update once used.
I was so surprised when I used it, it was light and efficient and certainly does a great job for such a small unit, I would recommend it to anyone.
It’s a great little hoover very flexible no cord to drag around and been clumsy doesn’t help so if you have back problems which most women do now not saying men don’t hoover im sure they do .This is the hoover for you it’s really a very good hoover .Just charge it for 5 hours and you get approximately hour and a half charge out of .If your only using the hoover lightly obviously you will get longer out of it .and the small part you can click for furniture ect is very hand easy to clean .Highly recommended
It arrived today 3days before date!!! Bought to replace my old heavy cylinder one..well packaged..so easy to put together. Smart looking and lightweight. Ideal for me who has difficulty in lifting thngs. Not tried it yet (on charge)…great for my bungalow…price is good and has 2yr guarantee…so far would recommend..
I love this little vacuum! It’s everything I wanted, compact & light and powerful. Being also a handheld is very useful for me on a boat, I can only sing it’s praises and PRICE, highly recommend.
his is just an initial view as it arrived only today and has been given a quick test run.
it has plenty of suction, is light and manoeuvrable. Worked fine on carpet and woodblock floor, even cleaned up a doormat which was impressive. Easy to start using as only one piece to clip on. The folding handle will be useful to me. Arrived sooner than supplier said it would and was well packaged. Seems well priced compared with similar sorts of cordless cleaners.
Potential down sides? Well it seems maybe a bit flimsy, (hence 4 stars not 5) especially for example the on/off switch, it is fine at the moment, I just wonder how it will hold up. RH do however provide a two year warranty so this is maybe not an issue, need to keep the packaging just in case!
So I’m pleased so far. If it proves reliable it will have been a good buy.
