So far I have only used the 120 grit. I’ve used cutting discs before but not sanding discs on a grinder, have to say that it sharpened my garden shears really well, I used a file on the edge of the blade then sanded the back which had some rust on it, it came up really clean and more importantly they cut the grass really well. One thing to add is I only put very light pressure on the blade otherwise you’ll remove to much metal, I imagine the 40 grit would be very aggressive. Going to sharpen my lawnmower blade next, always used a file in the past, this is so much quicker.
You have be gentle as they gough if too much pressure.
Ideal for removing old lead or oil based paint.
If you have a orbital sander you can use these to take the heavy stuff off and swap over to get a nice finish to the sander.
I’ve used these with an angle grinder to cope skirting boards. As a first-time user of a grinder it was quite daunting, but I was very impressed with how these flap discs chewed up the excess timber I needed to grind away. The job was done in literally 30 seconds. I’ve only used the 40 grit disc so far, but I’ve got some projects coming up that will require me to grind metal and other materials using the other discs. Highly recommended.
