This is easy to install and keeps your little one from opening the stove what is their obsession with doing so anyways who knows but this is a lifesaver for anyone with a little one in their household.
I got this thinking there wouldn’t be a problem. Apparently it doesn’t work on all ovens. The adhesive base was too long to fit on the edge of my oven. BUT I did give to a friend that needed one and it fit hers perfectly. The adhesive is super strong and isn’t going anywhere. It’s simple to use for adults but not so much toddler’s.
I was hesitant that this would actually be able to handle any strength but even with me giving a decent amount of pull it wasn’t opening the oven. Easy to pull out and snap back into place when needing to open the oven. Really easy to install but was a bit difficult to find a good spot and ended up having to place right in the front middle for best results.
This little lock works very well! I got this since my son had just started being able to open stuff up. This little gadget has already kept him from getting into a hot oven multiple times now! It is a little awkward to put the lock back but once you get the hang of it, it gets easier. All in all, I love this.
This oven lock works well. Attaching it was easy and using it was easy and simple, too. My young child is no longer able to open up the oven, which is awesome. I would recommend this item.
No drilling required for baby safe oven locks! The adhesive provides a strong hold without damaging the finish of the oven door. The heat resistance of this lock can withstand the high temperature of the oven.
I pulled on the door with it locked too soon and the baby lock popped off, but I had to yank really really hard because I forgot I had installed it until it went flying. I put it back on and once it had a few hours to “Set” it never came off again, even though I had accidentally ripped it off. Especially considering that only half of the adhesive is actually attached to my oven, since the top is narrower than I thought. Super easy to install and use, just pinch both sides of the buttons and slide up the lock. I can do it with one hand, finger and thumb to pinch and ring finger to slide up the locking mechanism. Which is good, because I am always forgetting it’s locked until I have something in my hands to put in the oven.
If you’re worried about your little pulling the door down on their head, or climbing inside, this is a great option.
If you are like me, you might have a curious, rambunctious one-year-old wandering around the house, exploring places they probably shouldn’t. My daughter always tries to open doors, cabinets, and oven doors. Luckily for me, this product showed up on my recommended. Just simply apply this to any door you need, and it’ll stick like glue. The simple unlocking feature is a bonus, as it is easy to unlock for me, but hard for a toddler to understand how. Overall, this product is great.
After my son grabbed the oven handle while it was on to pull himself up and he fell backward and hit his head, I knew we needed this. It’s simple to use and doesn’t stand out on your nice appliances. It was super easy to stick on and use and is nice and secure and strong even when my toddler does grab onto the oven bar. I know I did the same thing when I was a toddler, so glad they invented something to protect them.
Our oven door is very accessible to my toddler grandson and I am worried everytime I use it that he could open it/touch it/burn himself on it. This gives me so much piece of mind that I can lock it and he cannot open it while it is on or he cant climb in during hide and seek when its off.
This attaches to just above the door of the oven and a small pull-down piece comes down and doesn’t allow the door to open. The installation is easy and attaches in one spot. It does take two hands to push the buttons and raise the extended piece so the door can be opened. This is good but does mean I need to think about it before I have something in hand ready to go in the oven. It really is a very simple design that is effective and yet easy to install and use.
very easy to intall and worked great for preventing my 15month old from being able to open the oven. we live in an apartment so these stove oven doors are almost too easy for the LO to open. was slightly too big where it sticks but didnt interfere with stopping the door from opening.
This lock is made of high quality hard plastic. It comes ready to install straight out of the box with the 3M adhesive already on the device. Just line it up, peel, and stick it on.
I like that this device can be “locked” into the open position so that it doesn’t have to be toggled each time when opening/closing the door when in use.
After moving into our new home with our 15 month old we were horrified at the fact she could open the oven by herself! I attached this product easily to the stove stop and tested it myself it popped right off to be honest but I stuck it back on and had our baby test it by allowing her to try and open the oven again. She can’t get it open anymore!! It has not fallen off since. You have to pinch both sides and move the tab up or down to lock or unlock the stove (definitely baby proof), at first I could only lock and unlock by using both hands, now that I’ve used it multiple times I can easily use it with own hand.
My only advice or critique would be that it would be nice if there was an option with a shorter and wider sticky side. The stick surface of this actually comes about of an inch off of the stove top because the product is too long. But overall it still works.
There’s not much I can say about this. It was easy to install and use on my mother-in-law’s oven. My oven doesn’t have a flat enough front-top to mount this, but my mother-in-law’s oven does, and she will be watching my daughter on a regular basis.
I cleaned the area with a wet paper towel, dried it off with a dry paper towel, and applied the lock. The only issue now is my mother-in-law complaining about having a lock on her oven, but oh well. This lock was competitively priced and does an excellent job, I can recommend it. So far, the lock has survived 4 oven cycles and one cleaning cycle.
The 3M adhesive tape is nice and confidently strong. The locking mechanism extends in and out of the main component. You can simply extract it from the base to create a lock on the oven door. To retract it back into the base, you have to press the button on either side, then manually push the protruding plastic piece back in. I kind of wish it was spring retractable as this would be a nice touch.
One issue I ran into was that the top portion of my stove was not wide enough to correctly hold the base. About a half inch was floating in mid air. This resulted in the lock not being as strong as it could be and quickly failing. So make sure you have the real estate to accompany the base.
