This feeder can hold a lot of peanuts. I would only recommend if your garden is really busy with birds. My old feeder was annoying as I had to refill every day or 2 but this one lasts around a week before I need to refill.
We back onto a woods and hang 3 bird feeders at the top of our garden. As most people are aware squirrels also love the food and have damaged quite a few of our feeders even though they have their own shelfnot this feeder! I’d be lying if I said the squirrels don’t feed from it but it’s tough and they don’t manage to destroy or empty it like most others. The birds get plenty of seed/worms whilst the squirrels are busy on this one, they feed on the others or when the squirrels clear off there is plenty of food left so all happy. I would recommend if you’ve finally given up trying to stop squirrels and accepted they are part of the feeding frenzy!
It doesn’t need filling often and withstands winds and rain incredibly.
I had it in the tree but moved it ground level as a experiment to see what feeds.
Doves blackbirds all the usual and tge pheasant also seen some large thrushes and such. Well pleased.
It’s hung up in my garden, and attracts plenty of birds, some of my regulars a few new ones. There is plenty of perching space around the base of the feeder and it’s really pleasant to see a big group feeding at the same time.
The design of the feeder and coppery finish look very nice, it is on the pricy side but it’s a big well-made unit that I’m sure will last well.
It’s made really well, better than my rose arches!
My only dislike is that the loop to hang isn’t removable, as a result you can’t ring it around an arch, you would need another bit of rope or something to loop i
The quality and design is great and I am really impressed with it, However I do find if the birds do not eat the peanuts quick enough they can become mouldy so its worth keeping a check due to the amount this holds.
It was easy and simple to fill with the clip type design you slide up and down the wire to hold the lid in place.
Overall I am happy with this but for the current price of 29.99 this could be slightly expensive.
This is a lovely well made copper colour bird feeder and a really good quality. It is quite large so it won’t need to be filled as often but it does also make it quite heavy for my bird feeding station. It also gives the birds 360 access right around the feeder, with little stands at the bottom so they can perch comfortably to get the seed/mealworms etc. So far so good they seem to like it. I got this through Amazon Vine in exchange for a review so didn’t pay for the item, but I think the price of 29.99 is very expensive for what it is, and very dependant on how long it lasts which still remains to be seen.
It is very easy to operate, to fill you, just move up the clip to unlock, lift the lid up and pour in your food of choice.
It is pretty expensive though for a bird feeder ( currently 27.99) which is why for me it just drops a star.
