Got these smart plugs for TV sound bar , cd player an amp , I can turn off those appliances from my cell as I don’t like leaving the appliances on standby all night !
So far these plugs have been good for what I needed. Didn’t see anything in the set up instructions about turning off VPN on your device before pairing, had to look up FAQ, so took a while to set up first plug but only a couple of minutes for the other. Home page layout is fine but would have preferred easier option for automatic turn on/ off. Overall good value for the price.
They work well, but if you have them anywhere near a DAB Radio they interfere with the signal. Every 10 seconds or so it sounds like someone has turned the volume down for a couple of seconds. Tested it with all 4 that came in the pack, any closer than 3 metres and there’s problems.
Easy to set up and interface with Alexa though, work well in the rest of the house.
Connect / install, following supplied instructions or use the services of an engineer.
Product has 6 uk mains sockets & 4 usb, all can be assigned labels / descriptions as required, product is easy to setup & use.
Have used this product before & already have another one in service, very pleased with mine!
We have replaced most of our wifi plugs with Meross plugs as they are so easy to set up and use. The app is very simple and they work with Alexa. What more could you want?
I love this Meros smart plug. I’ve got 10 of the now. Some over 2 years old. They are so easy to link. Turn on the app, select add device, find your device and you are away. I always disable my wireless 5gb signal first though I don’t think it is necessary with the latest plugs. Alexa discovers the new devices automatically. I have got two other smart plugs but they are just not as good.
Fairly easy to add to the app although a conflict with Amazon Home meant having to delete two of the plugs and start again – but no big deal. All have continued to work as they should. Less chunky than other models.
Really great! Very easy pairing and HomeKit support. I used it to replace an existing Meross single plug, which ran a dumb power strip, to control Wi-Fi routers, PC, and laptop equipment. Enjoy the convenience of having a timer, e.g. when I’m only at home, to turn my devices on/off individually. The only downside was that it’s initially trial and error to figure out which physical socket corresponds to which on HomeKit or your smart home app of choice. Trial and error was annoying when disabling the wrong plug meant cutting off the home Wi-Fi! A simple label on the device could’ve solved this. Looking forward to seeing Matter integration on future devices.
These are just as easy to set up and integrate as the Meross lightbulbs I have.
No complaints, great range and easy to use.
More are planned for my expanding home automation project!
Lighting all my lamps up in different rooms from my phone is absolutely brilliant. Also can ask Google Nest to do it to. Can switch them on and off no problem and also have a timer on them all. Amazing!
INITIAL EXPERIENCE: I spent 90 minutes with Amazon Alexa customer support but could not connect to Alexa. Tried all 4 plugs.
Will send them back immediately. Alexa support was pretty useless too.
UPDATE: Couldn’t access a printer for the return label, but in the interval I googled Alexa-Meross issues. I found an entry that said when in Alexa to go to ‘Skills and Games’ (in the ‘More’ command at bottom). Type in ‘Meross skills’ and then select Disable Skill.
WARNING: It will disable all of your existing Meross items and they will need setting up again from scratch. But I was prepared to do this and then my 4 new plugs linked to Alexa very easily and trouble free. Only one had an issue but I rebooted that in Meross and then Alexa found it.
So, now that Meross has been relinked, they are working fine and I have upgraded my one star to 4 stars. But the customer service at Alexa still gets one star as they should have told me to do this simple step in the 90 mins I spent on the phone.
Face HomeKit power bank works well and is easy to integrate into your smart home and the own kit app on the iPhone. I have had no issues with this product and work seamlessly.
Seems to be of good build, quality and workmanship, as only have full of these already and had no issues with them. Therefore I would recommend this as a part of any small town.
I have noticed no overeating or any issues with EMF and QRM for this Martin product is great for any Radio amateur home
The Item is well made and packed with functions.
Being able to control each socket remotely makes this a great item for hiding out the way or just being energy conscious.
The usb’s are all controlled as one so be aware of that but it wasn’t an issue for me.
Like most plugs now this has led lights on which can seem bright in our bedroom when everything is turned off but thats the only down side for me.
They NEED cloud connectivity – not good for me, lose internet, lose smart plugs control. Sent them back. My house is nearly all zigbee, so only trialled wifi plugss
The product itself works, I’ve connected it with my google nest mini and it opens my lights on voice command. The problem arises when I connect the other one in close proximity to it, they bug out and the one I did not command opens or closes, which is why my second one is still unused. However, if you use the other one further away it does the job.
I am usually hopeless when it comes to setting up anything technology related. But these plugs were quite straightforward. I had checked before purchasing that my wi-fi was compatible so I was confident on that front. When they arrived the instructions for set-up were straightforward and by following them step by step I had all four set up in next to no time. They can be operated remotely simply by using the Meross app which, in itself , is quite impressive. But by following the instructions to integrate with Google Home you have a back-up option. The app has a ‘Smart’ tab which offers the facility to set up ‘routines’, which is a very handy tool. As well as being able to programme them to switch on at the same pre-set time every day these plugs offer the facility to switch on at key moments – for example, I have one of mine programmed to switch on at sunset every day – and it works! Even when the clocks went forward recently the plug switch on automatically followed suit. I have been using them for about a month so far and they have worked well so far. I am very impressed so far.
I’m not sure if any of the following applies to Android phones, certainly does to Apple (14 Pro,IOS 16.1.2).
I could not get these to connect. At all.
You need to be able to access your router (easy to do – from a computer) and try to disable 5GHZ band, or IPhones will default to 5GHZ – meaning you can see the plugs, but as the phone and sockets (and Alexa) are on different GHZ – it’s a no go.
Mine is the newest Sky router. Sure, you can click at the top on 5ghz wifi, and uncheck the 3 boxes (it will warn you not to if you have SkyQ) and then click apply.
This does NOT turn it off. Now, I am unsure as to wether me ragging the power cable out from the router, or throwing the router at the wall made the router restart (hard restart) but when it did 5ghz was definitely switched off. THEN my IPhone allowed me to choose the 2.4ghz wifi.
It can be helpful to rename the SSID for one of the frequencies – say SKYHSKA-5G instead of default SKYHKSA. You can name them whatever but you will need to reconnect devices afterwards.
If you have disabled 5ghz anyway, it should only pick up the 2.4ghz from your router so renaming is not essential.
So, a soft restart (router) does not change things, even when you have unchecked/applied new settings. Soft restart is available on Sky router settings. Don’t use it. I think you can press the pin sized hole for 30 secs to also hard reset, not sure. Killing it’s power for 30 secs certainly does.
You can then connect effortlessly to the sockets/new devices and then turn back on 5ghz when done – it’s no problem turning 5ghz back on.
Remember to know your routers wifi password, I changed mine from default anyhow (the one on back of the router or on the little card you get from Sky). You can see the wifi password also on a PC/Laptop on the routers settings. 192.168.0.1 – Login Admin – Router Network – type in address bar the numbers to access the routers controls. That’s for Sky and many others, some I think substitute the 0 to a 1.
Now, adding to Alexa is simple, and they are instant – my older ones took a few seconds for Alexa to turn lamps etc on, these are super fast.
Hope this helps, simply put – nightmare to connect IPhone to 2.4ghz network – which most smart devices use – and you cannot use different ghz obviously.
Well built product also. Oh, finally, the manual does not even show the model (110) – just choose ‘mini’ on the app.
