I was having a hard time trying to find Star Trek: lower Decks season 3 on Blu Ray for some time. Been getting word my country would not be getting the Blu Ray copy for some time. But was lucky enough to find this here on Amazon, to order to complete my Star Trek Lower Decks collection. Don’t get me wrong, DVD’s are still good, but I prefer Blu Ray style to keep up the streak I got going on. Just happy to add this to my collection and to enjoy this version of Star Trek and it’s comedy gold ^^
Why have they made this so hard to find on blu ray? There are still people out there that still like physical copies of dvds/blu rays… and streaming is getting increasingly expensive. Needless to say it is worth the extra expense if you are a fan of the series.
It is mind boggling how entertaining this cartoon really is. The characters have more depth than some live action Star Trek characters. Everyone’s taste is different, but i’d rather see another season of Lower Decks than another season of most of the live action series. (Your mileage may vary)
Mariner is determined to rescue her mother Captain Freeman after she is framed for destroying the Pakled home planet. Picking up where season 2 left off once again this is more animated fun in the style of The Simpsons or Rick And Morty but set in the Star Trek universe with references and cameos galore including James Cromwell back as Zephram Cochrane from Star Trek First Contact and a crossover episode with Deep Space Nine getting animated with guest appearances from Nana Visitor and Armin Shimmerman back as Major Kira and Quark leading to the season finale setting up season 4. The animation is well done with the regular voice cast on fine form and lots of hilarious in jokes for fans to spot on repeat viewing with the series proving once again that Star Trek can poke fun at itself even if some fans can’t.
Reminds me so much of the Next Generation. Aside from taking place in the same timeframe, you can really believe in the concept of the lower deck crew taking care of the grunt work to make command look good. On top of that a totally believable voice cast. Humor is there, at the same time having really good tight stories.
Love the show and it’s basically a Rick and Morty but with star trek. However I’m writing specifically because of the packaging. Movie case is in great condition however the bag it came in smelled of marijuana. I find that interesting because I don’t believe the delivery driver to be smoking but more than likely the person packaging it probably did. To the person packaging it who probably did, I don’t know how you got away with it but understandably know why u did, stay out of trouble at work. To Amazon if u read this don’t get him fired he’s at Amazon working God knows what and probably has a lot to deal with from work and life. Peace to u and I hope u don’t get in trouble.
Easily my favourite “New Trek” but…..
Remember when you’d go out and buy the dvd and you’d get a load of special features giving you insight into the making of the series or film, back stories of characters, alternative episode commentaries etc? Apparently that’s not a thing anymore

A two disc dvd box set with all ten episodes of ‘Star Trek: Lower Decks’, season three. An animated Star Trek show that focused on lesser ranked crewmembers. And has built up a bit of backstory by now so new viewers should start with season one.
Every episode is the usual twenty six mins in length [approx].
The first episode picks up from where season two left off. With the crew having to deal with what happened. Some deal with it better than others…..
The usual follows. Star Trek stories in less than half an hour of animation. But they’re stories that work as Star Trek. They get what makes it work. They have great ideas galore. There are once again some really cameos from previously existing characters. I do think as well Mariner does become a little more likeable over the course of this run. There have been times in the past where she has been full of herself, but she does get a bit more tolerable as a character this time round.
It’s not a show that stands still, either. It has allowed it’s characters to develop. It keeps on doing so here. The main ones do get excellent development and story arcs over the course of the season.
I won’t say much more than that because it’s a pleasure discovering the episodes for yourself. If you’ve come this far with the show, then you’ll already love it. You will keep on loving it after this season. Fourth one is imminent at the time of writing.
Do keep watching during the end credits of the season finale….
The dvd has the following language and subtitle options:
Languages: English.
Subtitles; English.
Extras:
Episodes one six seven eight and ten all have audio commentaries from various of those involved.
Two features:
Docking at Deep Space Nine. This is an in depth look at episode six, that runs for thirteen mins. It’s not accessed via the extras menu on the dvd. It’s on the episode menu, right below the episode in question. It’s a really good and entertaining watch.
Lower Decktionary: season three. An overview of the whole season. This runs for thirty three mins. But as with the above, it’s excellent fun and absorbing viewing. Time watching it will fly by. But it will be time well spent.
Really enjoy this series. Only place I could find a copy of it on Blu ray. This series is for both fans and non fans who like a good laugh
I ordered the first 2 seasons from Amazon UK and got regular Blu-ray cases with cardboard slip-clases over the top of them, whereas this one being a US release – they kinda cheaped out. No slip-case. And, the case itself is a bit slimmer, thinner and doesn’t feel as sturdy. At least it plays fine on our Aussie Blu-ray players. This show just gets better with each season!
First seen on Amazon prime, I loved it when the ship ran away from the borg then a first line ship she is not
Star of the show is the captain’s daughter mariner, the most un officer type going around since captain Pearce from the M.A.S.H series
William riker makes several appearance s
The stories also include references to the Delta Flyer from “Star Trek: Voyager,” revisiting Deep Space Nine after the events of DS9, the fate of Peanut Hamper (Kether Donohue), a sequel to Mariner’s holodeck movie, references to the Nexus and Section 31, a deep-cut follow-up to “Symbiosis” from the first season of “The Next Generation,” and a celebration of the California-class starships. The relationships between the Lower Deckers and the bridge crew continue to develop with Phil LaMarr returning as Alonzo Freeman, Jerry O’Connell as Jack Ransom, Fred Tatasciore as Shaxs, Gillian Vigman as T’Ana, Paul F. Tompkins as Migleemo, and more. Guests on this season include James Cromwell as Zefram Cochrane, J.G. Hertzler as Chancellor Martok and a Drookmani captain, Susan Gibney as Leah Brahms, Armin Shimerman as Quark, Nana Visitor as Colonel Kira Nerys, Jeffrey Combs as AGIMUS, and George Takei as Captain Hikaru Sulu. The metatextual format of the series continues to reward fans who love their “Star Trek” trivia.
This Blu-ray set is a great way to have a physical copy of the third season. Bonus features are somewhat sparse compared to previous seasons, though. They include “Docking at Deep Space 9,” about revisiting the famous space station, “Lower Dectionary: Season 3,” which includes behind-the-scenes information about this season’s stories, and audio commentaries.
