I was looking for an extender for my Jsaux Docking station to use with my Steam Deck and Surface Pro 8. I can confirm that this extender does indeed work perfectly with the docking station and both devices.
I have tried other USB C extenders and they do not work, but this one does.
Used this to extend a display port hub driving two screens. No discernible issues whatsoever with data transfer. Feels really well made. The connectors fit snugly and firmly. It’s black, so is unobtrusive (a white Apple equivalent would obviously not be). The cable is braided so should hopefully be very robust. The only tradeoff to this is you may struggle to scrunch it up too small for travelling purposes. This is a minor point and simply a feature of braided cables.
Even though the cable on the new PSVR 2 headset it pretty long, I wanted a little more. This was the perfect solution to give a bit for freedom of without the worry of pulling the PS5 out of the cabinet or damaging the usb-c port. Haven’t noticed any difference in picture quality or tracking.
I bought this to extend a USB-C hub connected to an M1 iPad Pro. I wasn’t that confident it would work having read mixed reviews of similar products, but having used it for a few days it has been pretty much perfect. It successfully extends the hub which hosts a 4k display, ethernet connection and multiple USB accessories, all without issue. The only thing worth mentioning is that the USB-A peripherals didn’t work initially but flipping the connection between the hub and extender over sorted the issue. It seems from other reviews that this is the case with all similar products.
Used for Steam Deck video output to TV through a 3rd party usb-c docking station to HDMI to TV. The doc has PD and can transmit power back down the cable to the Steam Deck. The usb-c doc also provides network and USB-A 3.0 ports. Having the doc 2M away from the Steam Deck allows just 1 wire to protrude from the back of the TV allowing me to sit on the sofa and play / download etc. Having all the clutter behind the TV was the goal. Only tried at 1080p 60hz so far. Downloaded Steam games to the Steam Deck through it and file transfers thro’ USB all work well. Seems to tick all the boxes.
Bought to use as an extension for 7 in 1 hub (these hubs always come with short cables) to help with cable management. It allows me to keep the hub and all the cables going in to it tucked in the cable management tray under the dest and allows me to still move the laptop around without knocking any of the cables out. There have been no connection issues and extension seems very well made and will hopefully last a long time.
Very happy well-made and it works with the Apple Digital media hub. I looked through a large number on here to try and find one that would work with my hub i use it to extend my iPad screen to my main screen I now use this instead of a computer or Mac. Many of the extension leads say they will not work with apple AV hub. I have the latest hub, purchased only a month ago and everything works fine not only can I see my iPad screen, but it also charges at same time I’m very happy!
It doesn’t say much about the USB-C standards (sic) when a review of a cable actually matters, but here goes…
Pretty much all USB-C hubs have a really short, captive cable for the laptop end and my new Anker (AK-A83650A1) was no exception. I needed a bit of extra length to get the hub into the cable management tray below my desk; adding this short cable to the hub was enough.
The cable is short, sturdy and so far I have no issues. It’s connected between the Anker hub and a MacBook Pro 16″ 2019 model carrying ultra-wide display (3840×1600), power, webcam, keyboard and mouse.
Obviously different computers and hubs will give different results, but at least in my setup this cable didn’t cause any issues, and now my desk is much neater.
USB-C cables differ hugely in performance. I have a Samsung 4K U28E590 monitor. Its resolution is amazing, but it is very demanding with regard to graphics processing. It is connected to the latest M1 MacBook via a Belkin USB-C hub. However, I needed to extend the hub cable to the MacBook, hence I bought the UGREEN extension cable. The cable is really robust and strikingly similar to the cable coming out of the Belkin hub. Everything about it seems superb and performance is flawless. However, for some strange reason, when the Mac comes out of sleep, it “sees” the monitor, but the monitor doesn’t actually come on. At this point, I don’t know whether this is driver issue in Big Sur OSX in relation to the Belkin hub, or a problem with the UGREEN extension cable. Simply pulling out the USB-C plug from the Mac and pushing it back in solves the problem, but I have yet to find a better way.
