The cables and charging port adaptors are well built and good quality. The magnets are good and strong, and there appears to be no slowdown to any charging speed.
They work well, and exactly as described.
But, the product still feels like its still in development. And the charging port adaptors need more refinement. They protrude quite a distance out of the device they are inserted into and are wider than my phone. I am slightly disappointed, as was hoping these would have been excellent.
These are good, usable charging cables, and the 3 adapters fit nice and securely on every device I’ve tested. The cables themselves are well made and easy to handle – not too stiff and not too floppy. The magnetic connector is articulated too to avoid strain on the connector or device, which is a really nice touch, as is the blue LED indicating that power is available.
Another bonus is the USB-C to USB-A adapter – I have a couple of fast chargers which are C and some which are A and having the adapter (which is also nicely made) is pretty handy.
Best of all though is that they’re also data cables, which I’ve found immensely useful for cameras.
Considering all you get, as well how effective the design is and how well everything is made, this is good value.
There are two cables, one 1m & the other 2m. The cables are braided for strength but not thick enough to be too bulky. I am new to the concept of magnetic connection and wasn’t too sure whether I would trust the magnet would be strong enough to get the connector back out of my iPad. I’m happy to report that it worked just fine and did charge my device very quickly. When the cable is in use it shows a blue light which I thought was a nice reassurance that it was connected. They suggest that you don’t change the connector more than is necessary and provide a small tool to do this which is needed as the magnet is very strong. Although the whole package works well I found it a bit fiddly and it would be easy to lose the spare connectors or tool. There are two small plastic holders that can be used to help to keep the spare/different connectors safe and two USB connectors as well so this really does give maximum flexibility for charging many different devices.
I’m a fan of Vafoten’s Magnetic USB cables. They just so convenient to use; the cables just connect on and off, and with these circular ones, it’s even better because now they’ll connect in any orientation. Simples.
The connection is strong enough to hold your device, but only just. If you shake the cable, you can disconnect it easily, but in normal use the strength is fine, especially when you bear in mind this is the price to pay for a circular design. Given that it rotates, there should be no undue tension as you’re using the device so the connection will remain solid under normal use. Great!
You get 6 connectors in the pack, two each for USB-C, Micro USB and Lightening. The connectors fit securely and without fuss. I tried them on a couple of devices which have awkward USB charge points, and they fit! Only just, but they work fine.
You also get two cables, a 2m and a 1m. Both cables are thinly braided, very flexible. Given that these connectors (9-pin) won’t work with other similar cables (difference in number of pins, etc), I do wish you get more in pack, especially given the price.
The other end of the cable is USB-C, which is great and forward thinking. If you’re still using USB-A, two adapters are also supplied to convert the USB-C to USB-A, but I like that it defaults to USB-C now.
At the end of the day, you get two USB cables that you can magnetically connect to up to 6 different devices (4 if you don’t count Apple). For close to 20, that’s a little steep, but I guess it’s the price for convenience.
Very well thought out product. Having both Android and Apple devices in the house, this cable makes the ease of charging incredibly easy. Best of all, the cable and the USB C to USB A connector flawlessly works with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connected in the car. I have used it on my MacBook Pro, HP laptop, iPhone, Android phone, iPad Pro, AirPods and Galaxy buds – every one of them charged without a fault. The only con is the Lightning connector only works one side, but that’s no biggy as I keep it connected permanently.
Even if you are careful, the constant disconnection and reconnection of charger/data cables from your devices takes its toll on the port.
These brilliant cables help reduce that issue by providing a permanent connection with the port using the magnetic heads (Micro-USB, USB-C, Product heads are provided). These then connect to the cable using magnets that hold the cable very securely but will separate if force is used. For instance, if someone walks through the cable. The magnetic connection will break rather than your device’s port.
This particular cable is 2 meters long, so it is long enough to reach the back seats of my car from the charging port and the nylon braiding means it is very strong and doesn’t get tangled.
As a bonus, with the multiple heads supplied, I can use the same cable to charge my daughters Fire tablet or my phone without needing additional heads.
I primarily use this to charge an iPad Pro with a slightly picky charging port, the tip obviously stays in the iPad and the cable attaches very easily and reliably, most importantly it stays attached. Charging speed is on a par with a standard usb c cable and the braided cover feels like decent quality. All in all very happy with the purchase and am happy to recommend.
This is a second type of cable like this that I’ve owned, but just a few minor bits over the other cable that this one slightly (and I do mean slightly) fall a little short on.
Firstly the good bits
It not only comes with all the end bits that you’ll ever need, but also a little rubber holder to keep them all in so you don’t loose them so quickly.
You also get a little end removal tool, a bit over over the top, BUT the though is there.
The whole cable is very good quality, and has fast charging and it’s easy to use.
Now for the not so good stuff (again this is minor)
Magnet strength isn’t as good as some of my other cables that are like this.
The cable can get tangled up extremely quickly as there is no flex in the cable at all.
Over all its still a very good cable and still worth the money that it’s selling at.
Definitely worth the buy in my book
I really like these cables, they have a nice braided finish which helps avoid them getting tangled, like normal cables. They magnetic attachements are great to leave in your devices (if you can), then you only need one cable available to charge them up. The magnetic attachment on the cable can also be angled as it is hinged. It also has the added advantage of preventing wear and tear on the charging port.
This magnetic charging cable has great range of movement on the supplier adaptors that fit securely into your tablet / phone.
The best magnetic charging cable I have used in a while.
This is a good lead and I like the magnetic ends so decided to buy more for around the house etc. Bought the same make but they are different ends so not compatible. Pity
Works as specified, but check the fine details to see if the compromise of charging your device or devices via a magnetic link is what you want.
A magnetic cable is great for convenience and extra security for your device – if you accidentally tug the charging cable it will disconnect rather than drag the device onto the floor.
But it will probably be slower charging than a direct cable.
How much slower is in the small print. So, for an older Lightning-port this cable tops out at 12W from USB A and a more reasonable 27W from USB-C.
But that works fine for me with a 65W GaN charger from Anker.
This cable seems well-made and hasn’t given any problems.
It’s not that cheap and you only get three heads – one Lightning, one USB-C and one Micro USB. So it might not be ideal if you have several devices to protect.
Got this for my son that always breaks his wires or has damaged the charging port on his device.. so I have been using these magnetic wires for years but with the newer devices you need more power so had to upgrade to this 60w cable… It works well on his nintendo switch
