We have Karndean flooring throughout the downstairs and we thought we were keeping it clean. With two Bearded collies fat chance! However this Vax is simple to assemble and very quickly it became obvious our floors could be so much cleaner. Pleasant smell from the cleaning fluid and comforting it is hygienic too. Cleaning and reassembly easy after you have done, the auto brush/head clean is great.
I did buy a second battery and would recommend that for a larger floor area, ours is around 40 square meters.
Only streaks visible on the first clean and in areas of heavy traffic. Subsequent cleaning not a problem.
It’s a type of vacuum that you would whip out once a month or two when you need to deep clean your house. It’s certainly not an everyday vacuum nor one that’s versatile.
For starters, it can only be used on hardwood floors, so if you’re like me and have carpeted bedrooms, forget about cleaning them. That being said, it washes, cleans, and dries hardwood floors like a miracle. I have two cats and no other vacuum has been able to clean my living room, kitchen and hallways like this one. It glides as I move with it, it’s lightweight, and its cordless function doesn’t restrict my movement. It also has exceptional sucking power.
However, there are a few nitty-grittys that I didn’t quite like. Its cordless function is only for 20 minutes from full charge. Meaning if you have a large living room like mine, you need sonic speed to finish cleaning. Otherwise, I’d have to use it corded then cordless or vice versa, which is a faff and makes me wonder why the cordless feature is there in the first place as the cord is quite long anyway. There also isn’t a smaller hose handle to get to more tight spaces, so it means I need to clean the main floor with this and then use another vacuum for the corners.
In my opinion, vacuums are meant to make your cleaning easier, and this does fulfil that job in a way by combining a mop and a vacuum into one. But, it’s restricted to where it can be used and so to me feels like a luxury vacuum that you may want to purchase as an “extra” cleaning device. Happy to recommend if that’s what you’re after.

Having a dog and white tiles throughout the whole of the downstairs of the house I am forever cleaning the floor so I wanted to try this to see if it done a more thorough and easier job.
I have got the carpet cleaner too which I brought last year but struggle to use because of how heavy it is to carry upstairs but I was relieved to find that this hard floor cleaner is a lot lighter so is easier to use and fine to carry if needed.
The solution doesn’t go far if you have large areas and you are looking at around 30 for replacement solution so don’t purchase this machine if you don’t feel you can continuously pay out for the replacement solution. The small bottle I got in with the machine just done one deep clean of the whole of the downstairs of my house.
I mopped before I used this just to see the difference and was surprised to still find the water dirty as you can see in the picture.
It is really simple to use and does a really thorough job and doesn’t leave smears like a traditional mop does. I had expectations of the floor still being really wet afterwards but that wasn’t the case.
Battery seems pretty good as well I managed to do the whole downstairs without it powering out.
It is slightly more than I would expect to pay but other than that it gets top marks from me.
It’s all cardboard — there’s no polystyrene meaning it’s very recyclable.
You will need to charge the battery before use; this takes a couple of hours.

* The dirty water tank can give off a foul stench! Even when not full. So don’t let it fester for several weeks!

There’s no point in buying it if you have hard flooring only in the kitchen and corridor and the rest is covered with carpets.
However, if you have a large home with, for instance, laminated flooring all over, I’d consider something like this.
This Glide 2 cordless Vax hard floor cleaner needs a little bit of assembly upon arrival, as the handle needs to be connected to the machine. The handle only clips on one way round, so you can’t get it wrong, and has a release button so it can be removed for storage if wished, but this is a little fiddly to access and requires assistance from a narrow implement.
The floor cleaner comes with a 4.0Ah battery, a mains battery charger, a stand base to keep damp rollers out of prolonged contact with floors, and a trial size bottle of cleaning solution.
I thought it wasn’t altogether obvious from the way this product listing is currently titled or the description that this cordless hard floor cleaner is part of the Vax One PWR range of cordless cleaners which share a common battery and charger style. I think partly this is to do with the fact that the battery goes into a safe covered compartment with a sprung lid (designed to prevent it from accidentally getting splashed), so the One PWR branding isn’t visible as it is on devices where the battery is exposed. Anyway, I can confirm that it is a One PWR model so if you have more than one device, batteries can be shared.
The machine is light and easy to use. Even with a full tank it weighs less than 6.5kg. This gives a good clean, and gets in closely to skirting boards. On the hard floors front, we have a mix of LVT, sealed coated cork tiles, and laminate board hard floors and this works well on all of these, leaving floors clean, dry, and free from streaky marks.
Like carpet cleaners, the Glide 2 has two tanks (one for clean solution, and one for dirty) and since this isolates the dirty intake then all you have to do is empty and rinse the tank when full – no grubbing round with dirty cloths as you need to when using a steam mop. The Glide 2 obviously makes motor and suction sounds, but is not not overly loud to use.
I’ve had to review or bought a number of tools from the One PWR range (Blade 3 dual, Blade 5 dual, Evolve, and this hard floor cleaner) which means that I now have quite a lot of batteries (and chargers) all of which can be used with any of the machines from the One PWR series.
I’ve reached a point where if I were getting anything else from this range I would prefer it if I could just get the stand alone tool without the battery/batteries and charger because I have plenty of these. Since the batteries and chargers are quite expensive – 30 to buy the charger as a stand alone unit, and 79.99 for a 4Ah battery – being able to buy bare bones units as well as inclusive bundles could lower pricing considerably for existing One PWR system users.
This arrived in a large branded box that opened at the top. Once opened there is a sleeved pack with the instruction manual, registration return, and safety guides. The manual is well laid out with a fully itemised picture of the floor cleaner detailing all parts on the first page, and it goes on through a step by step usage guide with detailed diagrams which are very easy to follow.
First impressions: I like that the water solution tank and dirty water tank are quick and easy to remove, empty or fill and replace. Both the brush rollers remove very easily so you can give them a really good clean when needed. The main handle slots into place and locks in making it non-removable after, which I didn’t like as it limits where you can store it and means you can’t repack into the box should you move. In my opinion this has a nice look to it with everything well finished and high quality.
After unpacking I put the battery on charge and had a good read through the manual, and once the battery was fully charged I was ready to give it a good test out. Most of our house is hard wood flooring or vinyl in the kitchen and bathroom and I went about cleaning it all.
This is fairly easy to use and maneuver with a button on the top of the handle to switch it on, and a pull trigger to control the cleaning solution flow. The battery slots inside, and locks with two push buttons, and a closing cover to the compartment.
I found the cleaning similar to vacuuming the floor with the difference of holding the trigger to release cleaning solution on the forward movement, and slowly drawing back to ensure it picks up the maximum of liquid. It did a really good job of cleaning the floors with the colour of the waste fluid confirming it had given everything a really good clean.
The self clean seemed to work well although you do have to be quick to press the self clean button after powering on to start this mode. The battery charge lasted for around 18 minutes but also included putting it on self clean and dry roller, and I found this was just enough to clean all the floors.
Overall in my opinion this does a really good job of cleaning hard floors, and I like that everything is very easy to remove for cleaning and emptying. I didn’t like that the main handle is non removable after initial fitting but apart from that I was impressed with this hard floor cleaner.
This is one of those devices you didn’t know you needed until you have had one. I have an old vax for the carpet and it huge and heavy and hard to use but this is nothing like the carpet ones so don’t be put off. This is light weight and streamlined and something you can use daily. Firstly it’s cordless. It takes quite chunky batteries but it does a good job and the battery life lasts long enough for me to to do my whole downstairs and 2 bathrooms.
The vax has a rotating bar underneath which does a great job at scrubbing your floors and drying them at the same time. This is better than using a mop as the floors will be virtually dry after using it. My floors are clean but I’m surprised at how dirty the water was. It can’t do carpets I’m afraid. It’s fine for all hard floors though but I would check laminate flooring as it might not be suitable but on tiles and vinyl it’s great.
The best thing about this is the self cleaning option. One press of the button and it cleans. It’s no more work than if you were emptying a bucket after mopping. It’s not too noisy either so was able to use it when kids are asleep.
If you budget can stretch and you have a lot of hard floors then this is a good investment which produces far superior results than mopping alone. It’s easy to use, has anti bacterial properties so it will keep your floors clean and germ free plus the added benefit of self cleaning after. It’s worth considering.
Came all packed well . The floor cleaner was very easy to set up simple user guide . The charger pack is lite so easy to transport the battery clips in very easy and is easy to remove by clicking in the grey buttons . The water tank is easy to fill with water via a screw top . Once filled up and you clip on battery that is placed at the top of the cleaner and is clearly signed . To use on switch is on the top and the water spray is inside the handle making it easy to spray when using . The cleanser gifts a good clean and you can see the dirty water in the dirty water tank . It is very easy to use simple not too heavy . Cordless so easy to use for whole house cleaning and drys the floors as cleaning . Once the cleaner is upright its spins the roller dry and then switched off . Happy with the clean great for large hard floors .
