Got it on offer but would have brought it full price! It’s for Christmas so can’t speak about how good it is but I’m sure my 3 year old will love it!!
I bought this for my 2 year old but she’s a bit young for it and can’t follow the instructions yet. Would suit 3 years plus. The quality and durability are good like most vtech toys!
Big fans of Bluey in this house and big fans of Bop it! which is good as the ‘VTech Shake It Bluey’ is essentially a version of Bop it! where Bluey is the device that you must tap, twist and tweak. Those looking for a straightforward interactive Bluey may be disappointed as you will have to work to get the most from her. Bluey will say words and you get the theme, but the idea is to play the game.
This is a simple simon says like game where you must do as Bluey says. There are several interactive elements of the toy that you can twist of bop. It is very well made, sturdy, but you can still interact with it. The challenge is high so would suit the slightly older Bluey fan, but our kids started to get the hang of it and where experts after a few goes.
This Bluey toy is fun and educational. It’s perfect for Bluey fans.
It’s very easy to switch on or off.
My 2 year old absolutely loved this toy.
This toy is ready to be used straight away.
It has 2 modes to play, free play so it makes funny noises, and follow me play that najas different levels.
It would make a nice gift.
Comes well presented in a cardboard box with an open front with bluey on full display, you can even try it out. Engaging for children with different sounds, lights and things to do. Theres 2 play modes, a more freestyle play and the other is more like a bop it. You are given tasks to do, shake the shaker, wave, press down, twist, if you can complete the first level, it goes abit faster and misses out some of the words to make it harder. At level 3, the highest, it just say one word; shake and its at a much faster pace. When youve completed all 3 levwls, it goes back to the beginning. Simple on/off switch with just the one volume level. It requires 2 aaa batteries, which are included so can be played with straight out the box. Chunky design, its a good size for small hands to hold and play with. It looks and feels of good quality and has already withstood a few tumbles to the floor. It’s great to help develop fine motor skills, listening and concentration, aswell as just enjoying play. Perfect for both boys and girls and would even make a lovely gift. Hasn’t been a toy which has only been played with once, its something our 3 year old has kept going back to play with. Really pleased with it and it’s reasonably priced.
This bluey toy is akin to a “bop-it” with a mode that tells you to interact with it in certain ways with increasing levels of difficulty based on answering correctly in succession. There’s also a mode that makes it make sound effects based on how you interact with it. All around great toy!
In a nutshell:
Things I liked:
+ Nice, clear, big features (head, nose, arms etc) which makes it very easy for your child to identify each body part when asked to.
+ Fun, simple game of follow the instruction – “Turn my head! Shake the shaker!”, great for younger children.
+ Feels definitely solid enough to withstand a bit of a battering if that’s what your child likes to do!
+ Reasonable price (22) for what you’re getting.
Things I didn’t like:
– Nothing really.
Do I recommend it?
Yes, absolutely – if the design (which you can see from the listing photos which are pretty faithful to the real product) looks like something your child would like, I’m sure they’d like this. It is listed for ages 3-6, but I would very much recommend it for the younger end of that range. I think a child of 6 would get bored quite quickly, but I can see it being great for a three year old. I know the regulations around selling children’s toys to kids younger than three is quite strict which is why so many toys start at age 3, but given the build quality I would say that I’d be perfectly fine giving this to my kids at age 2 – that’s a judgement call for you to make though.
I got this for my 2 year old nephew, he loves Bluey and loved this toy!
Nice size, ideal for smaller hands. It comes with batteries, but these are only for demo purposes, so I would change these out for new ones before giving the toy to your little one. (2 x AAA batteries)
Lots of features, you can press multiple buttons/bop Bluey down, listen to the instructions to shake/wave/turn along with Bluey, and the tummy lights up.
Really happy with it, lots of fun to be had, and great quality like you expect from VTech.
We were so hyped about this Bluey toy as my son’s a big fan, but it didn’t quite land as we’d expected. The toy itself its mostly solid plastic, and theres good interactivity – but ultimately it was just too sensitive and complicated for him, so maybe suited better to older children, 4+? It functions a bit like a bop it, you have to twist, press, or turn parts of the Bluey toy as its called out – ashamed to say we struggled to get to level 2, even as adults, as its hard not to accidentally knock other parts as you’re holding it!
The lights an =d sounds are good, but don;t quite sound the same as the Tv show.
