I usually struggle with bath products as they often irritate my skin but sprinkling a bit of this in the bath doesn’t irritate my skin and it adds a nice aroma.
perfect, relaxing – if you use them regularly after sports or for pain relief or as a skin treatment you can afford to if you buy this brand. More expensive salts are not better than these. If you want some fragrant salts just add a few drops of essential oil. I use these all the time for all the family and swear by them
I have used Westlab Dead Sea Bath Salts as I have skin prone to Eczema and Psoriasis and due to a flare up of that used this which has helped, an added bonus it has Help clear up the remains of Cellulitis on both lower legs which I had over a year a go which left them raised with lots of bumps lovely looking purple/blue skin this is gradually beginning to fade and bumps going down and the skin is feeling softer which is a good sig
I’ve developed psoriasis in the past 8 months and there’s a million and one products available on the market.
Let’s get this correct, different courses for different horses but personally this product is great for me at bath time.
Brilliantly priced (so I buy multiple packs at a time) these bath salts leave my skin feeling hydrated and supple.
2-4 scoops per bath so it can get used up quite quickly but probably best not to bath daily, to give your skin time to recover.
It might not be for everyone but it works for me and may work for you; at the price point there’s no harm in trying!
A good price for a bigger bag, good for achy muscles. Just remember to add whilst hot bath water is running, so it doesn’t feel like you are sitting on a beach! Have bought multiple times.
I have been using Westlab bath salt for years and I like it. It doesn’t have any scene and good for dry skin. It can release dry conditions. Very good and useful
I had a toe infection earlier in the year, which has been incredibly slow to heal.
Previously I had tried soaking my foot daily in Epsom Salt to try and encourage healing, but if it did anything at all it was marginal.
After I soaked my toe once in these dead sea salts the area started to noticeably improve and within a few days was significantly better.
I didn’t really expect this salt to do anything but have been pleasantly surprised. It’s also cheaper than Epsom Salt which is a bonus.
I have raynauds which is known to impede healing, so if you have similar conditions this might help.
Having gone from, pre covid, 20-30 hours a week work, I suddenly work 60 hours per week with an additional 15 commuting.
My offdays now involve playing spa at home – homemade blends of bath salts (with spices, dried fruit, essential oils etc, and whilst it may not fix all of my pains, it does wonder for my mental health.
Highly recommended getting a large set of essential oils to experiment with (don’t forget you’ll often need a carrier oil too – I like almond oil!
My favourite part of the plain salts are that I can customise them to me needs. Sleeping aid? Muscle relaxant? Mood enhancer? Baby, it does it all!
Hey
I really try and take care of my feet and usually keep socks on all the time (literally).
On YouTube I found a “Pedicure” tutorial which required salt. I bought this (Westlab Salt) as the one mentioned was 26.99 and I have never really done a Pedicure so wanted to try it out.
Delivery was fast, brilliantly packaged and the contents is a fair bit. I used about 2 cups and soaked in very hot water for 10 minutes. I then proceeded with using the pedicure filing tools for feet (purchased on Amazon @ 8.99) which are fantastic/needed with this salt.
The salt disolved fast and you can add in scented water (I didn’t) as the water smell isn’t pleasent once the skin is removed.
The salt is fantastic and did exactly what it said. It’s a must have for a pedicure and I will be using this for a manicure too.
Will be purchasing again and can also be used for dry, irritated skin prone to Eczema and Psoriasis
Defo give yourself a pedicure with this and the filing tools, you will be very pleased if your in to soaking etc then this is perfect and at a good price.
Thank You
Hi, I bought this for my 12 yr old son , who All of a sudden (out of the blue) started getting a really bad case of eczema, he had the flu for 3 weeks really bad , then after that his entire body arms, legs, back where covered, took him to our GP and was given all the usual pointless ointments that he hated and did not really work, then one day ( school holidays) we took him to the beach and noticed his skin looked much better , in total we went 3-4 times during the summer holidays, the Sea really improved his condition, obviously i knew that the sea had benefits but we live in London and cannot always get there, i went to my local supermarket saw this sea salt on the shelf (small bag 3.49) and bought it just to try it out, as i thought that it would not be the same as the ,,real sea side salt,, but we are amazed it has really calmed his skin down , every night he has a salt bath even after only 3 days there was an improvement, his skin is now less red and patchy, although at night he still itches , in terms of the creams , i always read reviews on Amazon first and compare a thousand times to get the right one, i had also bought the BIO-OIL GEL which is amazing too , this together with the salt has worked wonders, this Eczema is an absolute nightmare , especially for my son as it was apparently triggered after his bad case of the flu, Try it , anything for a bit of relief , Kind regards Carole
If you struggle with these skin conditions, as I have, for most of my life – washing with these salts when you are breaking out, will help reduce inflammation and promote healing. Along with a balanced diet; eliminating pro-inflammatory foods and keeping stimulants to a bare minimum, you will likely benefit from regular use of the salts.
I add a heaped tablespoon of salt to a small bowl of warm water and bathe problem areas during break-outs. The results can be instantaneous – a subtle sting / an increase in redness and then 20 minutes later, a visible improvement in symptoms. The redness begins to fade and the area(s) feel less tender to touch. You might have a temporary increase in flaking, but don’t worry, just let the area dry and use a clean cloth and gently remove any flaked skin.
I can usually clear minor patches within 48 hours and then just need to bathe less attentively going forward, but do try to wash at least once a day with the salts, for maintenance, and work at eliminating any food items that may be triggering. I find that high sugar and oily foods are a no no and definitely do not drink alcohol. Digestive health is key to good health, especially with these conditions.
You don’t need to instantly throw the salted water away either, just keep it handy and bathe the area(s) throughout the day, until you sense the inflammation is under control again.
I hope this helps you, as these conditions can be so miserable. I also find relaxation exercises help – try ASMR with a pair of headphones, and combine this with the salt treatment when you can.
Take it easy.
Over 20 years ago I read Nurse Sue Hill’s very good book on curing arthritis which she’d suffered in her early 20’s and was told she’d be unable to have a family and lead a normal life if I recall correctly. One of her suggestion for painful joints and other aches and pains was a twice weekly Epsom salts bath as hot as you could stand for 15 minutes, then wrap up warm immediately and sweat for another 15 minutes. So almost a sauna effect. And it works for detoxing and getting rid of aches in muscles from gardening and other physical activities. Recently I decided to try Dead Sea salt instead of basic Epsom salts and it works very well, especially after 4-5 hours working in the garden. It just soaks all the aches and twinges away and is so relaxing, after the bath I usually find I sleep for 8 hours non stop. It’s darker than Epsom salts and smells slightly different but not at all unpleasant. I put about 3-4 large scoops with my hand into a hot bath and dissolve it with a long handled bath brush. Dead Sea salts has many vital minerals in it, including Magnesium , which is so lacking in our diet and yet so essential for health( see Dr Carolyn Dean and many others on the Miracle of Magnesium ). It clears so many impurities from the body and at the same time the body absorbs all the magnesium and other vital minerals from the salt while you soak in the hot bath. It’s a real health cure. On the pack it says your skin will feel very smooth, and it does, but there are a lot more benefits than that, as long as hot baths don’t affect any medical condition you may have. When I just used Epsom salts, I found the back of my neck and scalp felt quite itchy after soaking in the salty bath but I’ve not noticed that at all with Dead Sea salts. Even if you don’t have sore joints etc, adding these salts to a warm to hot bath and just soaking for ten minutes or so is very relaxing, in fact just as good as a Spa treatment and a lot cheaper . I highly recommend these salts which I’ve been using now twice a week for the last 8 weeks and I’ve just finished the first 5 kg bag.
TL:DR – Work well in the bath and much more economical in large bags.
My wife and I bought a funky spa bath a few months ago, but when my wife was reading through various internet sites (a dangerous thing to do…) she kept seeing recommendations that you not use bubble bath products with them… Not just because the action of the jets is likely to create a wall of foam which will engulf your house and half of your street, but also because the residues from the bubble bath can block the jets. I have no idea whether this is true or not, but to be on the safe side we switched over to bath salts, which should have no such problems.
I have been using West Lab salts ever since, and I have been consistently impressed with them. I suffer from eczema and dermatitis, and I know about it when I’ve used the salts in the bath, because my skin is noticeably better for several days afterwards. There’s nothing else to get excited about really… They don’t smell like strawberries or fizz or recite Beowolf or anything… You just chuck them in, swirl around ’til they dissolve and then relax in the bath until you get bored… But they do seem to clear up my itchy skin, and our bath jets are still resolutely un-clogged…
It’s definitely worth buying the salts in these huge industrial sized bags. A kilo will set you back nearly a fiver at Boots (other large chemists are available) and they don’t go off, so unless you really lack space, there’s no reason not to buy the big bags.
