About us

Shot in the Dark was created by twenty something newlyweds Grant and Jordanna.

We both love quizzes, but hated that all quiz games had the same flaw! Quiz games are no fun if there is a wide range of general knowledge abilities within the group, which always seemed to be the case (for us the team who has Grant’s dad won every time, which spoiled it).

We figured that our family and group of friends couldn’t be the only ones to struggle with this, so we invented a range of inclusive quiz games which can be enjoyed by quiz masters and people with terrible general knowledge alike.

Haven’t played the game using the instructions yet but handed cards round the table and answered questions. Thought provoking and mixed range of questions. Had good fun and a few debates about answers.

This was bought as a Xmas present for 2023. As I understand, it was or is being enjoyed by all. I can’t say any more than this as I have not played it.

Love this game. Very simple to play but also engaging and fun. Spans across all ages and easy to pop into your pocket to bring to a friends house. Thoroughly enjoyed by all who have played.

This is essentially reading out cards and guessing the answer – but – the questions are awesome so I don’t mind the money spent on it. Was a little expensive but really fun game so I do highly recommend it. Lots of variety and some good talking points….

Played this tonight with some friends and all loved it. Fantastic easy game to play – really good questions and gets you thinking and puzzled – we played in teams and it soon got very competitive playing the bonus cards for more points.
You won’t be disappointed if you get this – well thought out and went down a storm. “without a doubt” one of the best quiz games we have played in a while!

I bought this game last minute for a small family gathering for Boxing Day and I’m so glad I did ! It was so much fun , can be played just relaxing on the sofa without having to use boards and counters but was so addictive that even though we had several games we could have played , we played this for several hours straight ! Would definitely recommend

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our Users“Without a Doubt?” is the game that answers the age-old question: “Can a quiz be both outrageously ridiculous and astonishingly fun?” The answer is a resounding YES! If you’re looking for a game that’s a delightful blend of guesswork, giggles, and perhaps some absurd logic, this is your jackpot!

Let me start by saying, this game takes your knowledge, wraps it up in a straitjacket, and throws it out the window. It’s like a whirlwind of mind-bending questions that will leave you questioning your grasp on reality. Are you smarter than a child? Who cares when you’re playing this game!

The questions range from laugh-out-loud absurd to, “Wait, is this a trick question?” I’m pretty sure the creators have a secret society dedicated to coming up with the quirkiest queries. I mean, where else would you be asked to predict how many times a bee can sting you while riding a bicycle in a sandcastle at the North Pole?

The gameplay is simple enough for everyone to join in, even Aunt Mildred, who still can’t figure out how to use a smartphone. You take turns answering questions, and let me tell you, no one in the family is safe from unleashing their inner genius or inner comedian. The beauty is, it’s not about getting the right answer; it’s about convincing others that your answer is right.

Now, the best part is seeing your loved ones try to rationalize why a polar bear would join a conga line or what the moon smells like (cheese, anyone?). It’s like a mini-stand-up comedy show with your family as the comedians.

The game board and pieces are well-made, but I must say the real fun is in the absurdity of the questions. It’s like opening a treasure chest of silliness and watching your family roll around in laughter, trying to come up with the wackiest responses.

So, if you’re ready to inject some hilarity into your family game nights or just want a game that guarantees giggles and questionable logic, “Without a Doubt?” is your go-to. Just be prepared for your family to discover some unusual hidden talents, like Aunt Mildred’s gift for writing polar bear poetry. It’s a game that will leave you without a doubt: family fun at its best! Highly recommended!

Took this on holiday and played it with kids and family. What great fun as everybody could have a guess or work as a team, easy to play, cards are of a good quality. Comes in a cardboard box as cards do, a more robust box would have been better to survive travel. But overall a little gem of a game that everyone can play.

We chose to make it competitive but it doesn’t need to be. It could just be fun facts. Your answer is more guesswork so it means younger or less knowledgeable friends or family can play. As the answers are on the back and there are 5 questions on each card we decided to take a card each . We picked someone to start and they were question master until all the questions on their card were answered.QM doesn’t play in that round. Then it moves onto next person. We discuss alot so we played for about 3 hours on Xmas night and had only used 10 cards. So plenty left for another time and we won’t be repeating questions. Seemed a bit expensive for just a card game but I reckon we could get years of fun out of it.

I wanted a game that family and friends could play over Christmas, but I wanted it to be simple to learn and fun to play. This game is exactly that. Players take it in turn to ask questions and you get points for answering them, BUT the questions are wierd and funny. No special knowledge required. It really is a hoot and really fun to play. Everyone loved it.

This game suits anyone over 12 years. It is a thought provoking but fun card game. The idea of the game is to answer a question where you could find the answer by thinking about it – not general knowledge! I bought it for my nephews and nieces – we all played many hours over Christmas. I run a regular Rummikub club and I thought this would be a bit of fun (we are all adults of course) – so I have just purchased this – not yet tested by them – BUT I know they will really enjoy it. Wonderfully thought out questions a real winner – affordable too! Cannot recommend more highly.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBought this as a present and it was very well received. Really easy to learn and because it’s mostly guesswork everyone can join in. We played it at Christmas with the family ranging from 8 to 75 years old and it was great fun. It’s the size of a standard pack of cards so great for travelling.
