Just gone from a 27″ to 34″ curved and it is the best choice I have made. I feel, for it’s price, this is a great monitor. Visually stunning and a massive improvement on my FPS and smoothness.
24inch Qhd display is best in my opinion. i have tried 27 inch qhd but its not like this monitor. you get 123pixel per density where 27 inch give you 107. Thank god its exist. other manufacturer should take note of this. I love it. Colors really pop. make sure you change it in settings.
Good screen, good amount of settings. HOWEVER, i really hate the base of this thing, its so big, and I just got a new new desk that’s wider than my last one and the stand is STILL annoying.
This is for the current listing for the AOC Gaming CU34G2XP – 34 Inch WQHD Curved Monitor, VA, 180Hz, 1ms GtG, HDR400, Height Adjust, Game Mode, Speakers (3440 x 1440, 400 cd/m HDMI 2.0 / DP 1.4).
There are NO speakers.
I got this to have fewer cables on my desk and de clutter my work space – I didn’t need earth shaking bass or even much volume but it look like ill have to stick to an additional speaker bar for the moment. Apart from the lack of speakers its ok, the curve is a bit shallow but the addition of Display port is a great addition.
I am never going back to the normal 16:9! This is absolutely amazing, so much more immersive when playing in games that support ultra wide, even that games that don’t support it if the room is quite dark you really don’t notice the difference. Absolutely love it. I have a ryzen 7 7800x3d, 4070 ti.
Was looking for a monitor for my secondary setup so didn’t want to spend a fortune, came across this monitor that has all the features my main setup monitor has but at half the price! I am honestly very happy with this monitor, can’t fault it.
I wanted a 24″ monitor.
High resolution is an improvement over 1080p , and its nice that its 165hz (personally anything 144hz or more is good to me)
Other details:
Monitor can be rotated easily to be vertical. I’m not going to use this feature, but could see it being kinda cool for a 2 monitor setup e.g. a twitch streamer using it vertical for chat.
I use it mostly for gaming but also office use. Generally a pretty good monitor for the money and a decent stand with height adjustment. I find the G-Menu download handy for setting adjustment rather than the physical buttons which I find fiddly.
I’ve had this monitor for about a month now and it’s been incredible seeing the difference from my 1080p monitor, to the 1440p monitor.
The picture quality is much sharper and gives more accurate colour. It does se to struggle a bit with low light scenes in games but that’s about the only drawback I find. It’s nice that it has slim borders as well as it makes you feel more engrossed on the game.
Great graphics and arrived a lot earlier than expected but as soon as I begun to play music, I realised that the speakers sound like they’re echoing and not coming from the actual monitor. I’ll have to buy my own speakers but other than that, I’m happy with the price paid.
This monitor purchase is my first and to say the least- I’m impressed. It works exceptionally well with an easy to use OSD menu. It came in superb packaging (which has an easy instructions guide) with a good quality metal stand. One of the downsides of this monitor is the HDR brightness, when in white it is very bright to the point it hurts my eyes, and G-sync does not work that well. Overall it is a great purchase and I would recommend it.
Overall this is a pretty good gaming monitor. I bought the 27inch which is perfect for my room.
The display is clear, vibrant colours and offers a number of configuration options to match most needs.
The menu gets some effort and time to master and the accompanied software could had been better.
In my case sometimes the HDMI connection breaks and I have to take the cable out and force it in again in. It seems the ports may be the Achilles heal of this monitor.
Switching between multiple monitors can be achieved via a button and via the software.
I haven’t noticed any lag during gaming and when connected to DP it achieves 155Mh.
The base is OK but it seems too low and I am now looking ways to set it a little higher to avoid turning it into an angle.
I noticed a price increase from the 149 I bought it, so it might be worth to wait until after holidays to buy it.
Bought 2 of these a year a part and the old one functions as new so its long lasting & picture is great, 144hz is ideal for gaming & keeps up with all the fps games I play, Would recommend
I got this monitor for a mix of gaming and work. I was sceptical as how a curve would feel with work related use, however its really good. 32 inch widescreen with a slight curve works very well. 165Hz makes suck a difference to gaming. I had a 4K 60Hz previously and this in my opinion is a huge upgrade.
It does take a little setting up the right picture brightness etc but once you have it where you like its great.
The main positive is the value for money. Im glad i went with this monitor. There is similar spec’d monitors out there but this one is the best value in my opinio
Just got myself the 24G2SPU version (24G2SPU/BK), it’s the same as the SP but with a USB hub that includes fast charge, for 148 including tax and delivery in the UK. The first one had terrible glow, but Amazon sent me a new one out and had it 2 days later, and it also has some bad glow in the bottom right, it is much better than the other one, and pretty usable, so I kept it.
Might be some concerns here with quality control.
Overall, I love this monitor and the image quality is fantastic for 1080p. Colours pop, and everything looks nice and sharp.
I do have a few annoyances with the monitor, but you can’t really grumble at this price, but will leave them here for anyone thinking about buying.
> The USB hub is located at the back near the bottom right corner, and it’s annoying to access and plug cables into. My previous monitor had the hub on the right side of the screen.
> This monitor is not freesync premium, and only adaptive sync compatible. So you miss out on AMD’s low framerate compensation tech.
> The menu buttons are really annoying to press, and you constantly get mixed up with the buttons.
> The stand is massive and not ideal for tight spaces, it sticks out on to my mouse pad and get’s in the way.
> The power cable could be longer. Was a nightmare to cable manage it, but I got there in the end.
> Left and right swivel is a bit janky
Very nice switch from my old 24″. Has great display quality, It feels really sharp. Going from 75hz to 165Hz makes a HUGE difference. Working on it, playing games, watching videos feels very smooth. Not sure if that why but after I start using it I went up by almost 10k ELO in CS2. Love AOC monitors.
I just got this monitor for my ps5 i love the quality it looks as clean as my 4K tv with hdr10. It dosent support VRR or HDR on the ps5 but apart from that its perfect gameplay feels smooth and the size is perfect for gaming.
I am happy with this monitor which is a replacement for my old 24″ AOC. It finally gave up after many years of reliable service. This one works straight out of the box, but I might tweak it a bit when I get more familiar with it. I bought this as an upgrade in size and not as a gaming monitor.
Bought from Singapore. Was in perfect condition fortunately. Years of wait for a 24″ 1440p IPS that has high refresh rate. My eyes couldn’t comprehend all the pixels in front of me suddenly.
A great upgrade from my 27″postage stamp looks great only thing dont like is the buttons at the bottom seems very fiddley going through. All the picture options , but all in very happy with it first time going curved screen will never go back to flat .
I thought HDR was a gimmick and just wanted a 1440p 27″ to match my gaming monitor. I didn’t expect the picture quality to exceed my 600 Asus monitor and I got this AOC monitor on sale for 180
Replaced a samsung 24″ curved display which I always found slightly blurry and left me with headaches if I used it too much. This monitor is excellent, great screen image right up to the edges and good brightness. So far, can’t rate it highly enough.
I’m not using it for gaming, so can’t comment on refresh rates but for multi-screen documents its amazing
I’ve been using a pair of 1080p Dell 23″ monitors for about 10 years. The setup has worked really well for my use case of software development. However, experiencing higher resolution panels and higher refresh rate panels made me interested to upgrade.
I got two of these AOC 24″ QHD 165hz panels. Not a common combination for sure. But I’ve been able to set them up nicely with pin sharp text, a comfortable size and higher refresh rate on both Mac and Ubuntu. Obviously for my use case, the 165hz refresh rate isn’t that important. But it certainly feels nice when things scroll or move around.
I was slightly concerned the red strip at the bottom would look too much, but I barely see it, and it’s actually quite nice. I’d never heard of AOC before, but am really placed with the quality.
These were available on a 7-10 day lead time from Amazon when I first checked. But they popped up with 3 in stock available next day.
I’m using a thunderbolt 4 dock and usb-c to displayport 1.4 cables. On Mac I did need to use the BetterDisplay app and had to explicitly enable smooth scaling. On Ubuntu I needed to enable “Large Text” to make things a comfortable size. 165hz on both no problem.
As I needed 3 monitors, I opted for this wide curved as It can give me 2 19 inch monitor size windows. I had it for over 2 weeks and so far I have to say it is amazing, im not a super tekky or wanted this for games, I just needed a decent monitor to do my work and so far this monitor has done justice. Im very happy I bought it and recomend it to anyone.
I found this monitor really good for gaming and running at such good definition and gaming is really
a good experience. I would recommend this AOC 34″ curved screen monitor. Another plus factor is there
has been a price drop since I purchased it over a year ago.
The only very slight niggle is the colour adjustments under bottom right of screen can be fiddly and confusing till you get used to them.
Bought this for my mum as she now works from home. Seems to be doing its job, definitely better than the screen her work gave her to use. Can’t beat ultrawide’s for productivity.
This monitor is great if you do not want to spend a ton for the most pricey ones out there. Had to get used with the curvature and my eye did strain a bit at start, now all is ok. What I dislike is lack of any support on how to make the most of this screen (not all of us are pros at screen settings – I think I have too many screen utilities downloaded that take from the processing speed and afraid to take any off as not sure which are needed and which aren’t as important). Great picture quality, I don’t mind the bad speakers as I have my own, separate ones, plugged in. Just wish Cust Support would guide people that never used these monitors and help them make the most out of these.
Overall an excellent and budget-effective product. The refresh rate is perfect and gives a tiny bit extra over 144hz, but not too noticably different. Doesn’t show much glare thanks to the matte finish, and looks nice when off for a clean aesthetic. On black screens, there is some light bleeding – however it’s only minimal and doesn’t detract from the overall experience. The menu is okay, but as with most monitors it isn’t the most intuitive. Not much of an issue though, as you’re probably only going to tweak a few things and then leave it for the rest of its life. The speakers aren’t great, but are bearable – in the menu they’re set to 50% by default so definitely crank it up to 100% and adjust volume in your operating system instead.
When i was looking for a new main monitor for my set up, I when through many different brands, sizes, refresh rates, all the Important things for a Monitor, and for the price i landed on the AOC CQ27G2U Now for the Sweet price 230, i Love the quality of the monitor, I picked up the 27in curved 1440p Monitor,
Now this was my first step in to 1440p gaming experience, and i must say that after using the monitor for about a month, i love the experience, the colours are vibrant, and going from 60Hz to 144Hz is Night and day, the smoothness of the monitor, No longer do I deal with frame tearing or Stretched Images, The monitor with its overdrive Mode makes sure that every movement and action I perform it clear and smooth, really allowing me to make the most of the games that I Play, I was massively happy when testing out FPS games E.G escape from Tarkov, The improvement that i had with the increase frame rate and the colours was amazing, being able to correctly identify things at distance things which were near impossible with my old Monitor,
Overall Great monitor for the price, My only advice is if you dont have experience gaming with a 1440p monitor, you are going to have to mess around with the colour settings in the OSD to get the Image look right for you!
I purchased the AOC Gaming 32 Inch QHD Curved Monitor when I was in need of a new display, and I’m absolutely thrilled with my purchase. This monitor is perfect for gaming, with its 165hz refresh rate and 1MS response time, it gives a smooth gaming experience even with the fast paced FPSs I enjoy. I’ve played several games on this monitor and noticed a significant improvement in performance and responsiveness compared to my old monitor which was 75hz one.
Setting up the monitor was very easy, couple of screws was all it was, and I appreciated the inclusion of a variety of connectivity options, including HDMI and DisplayPort. Options are always good!
If you’re in the market for a new gaming monitor, I would highly recommend considering this one.
Context matters so here’s some: I have had a 27″ Dell screen for a decade. It has served me very well, but I use newer screens at work that, while also just 60hz, have more vibrant colours and deeper blacks – everything about my Dell monitor seemed greyer than it should after having had it for so long. I don’t have a load of money, so a 32″ IPS was always going to be out of my budget range.
I looked at the competition and was almost tempted by a 300 gigabyte monitor with similarly good reviews, but at 250 and with a slight (and actually awesome) curved display, I went with this.
Right out of the box the display looked…disappointing. So I fiddled with the colour settings and very quickly had the brightness down and the contrast up and, well, it looks great. The blacks are deep and the colours rich (I am not into natural-looking colours) and my first game test was Crysis Warhead, a game that always felt washed-out on my old monitor). Looked great, very happy, so loaded up Firewatch, a game where the colours really pop and it too looked great. Finally, Dishonored 2, and yet again I was delighted…until I noticed some light/dark flickering. I jumped into the forums and there were a number of people complaining about this. Seems it’s par for the course for VA monitors. It was too noticeable to ignore and not fixed with a display driver update or the monitor’s own drivers installed via Device Manager. Seems it’s a g-sync thing, so I turned off g-sync and the flickering has gone. Read a lot about this – as it’s not an officially supported monitor it seems the flickering occurs when the framerate is adapting to big changes. I honestly can’t say I’ve noticed any great difference since turning it off – play your games at settings that won’t result in wild framerate swings and it’s really not an issue.
This may be a deal-breaker for you, but as someone who doesn’t do any gaming that requires stupidly high FPS in order to be a twitchy-shooter god, I don’t see this being much of a problem. The smoothness of 144hz vs 60hz is huge and as long as you’re not exceeding the power of your GPU the monitor will seem buttery smooth. My eyes do not notice the difference with g-sync off; maybe some of you will but I do not. This monitor does have Overdrive settings that I may play around with at some point but one quick setting change and everything is fine. FYI, my GPU is an RTX 3060.
