Really love this pergola not easy to assemble but once up it great roof easy to open and close fits over my table and six chairs we had a shower of rain and everyone was sheltered great buy
This was very easy to assemble, delivered quickly, and packaged well. It looks great in the garden and can be easily opened or closed for shade or sun, great value for money
Looks amazing and such a good price – highly recommended. Good instructions for putting together too – you just need to watch which way the holes point to make sure you have the right leg in the right place. BBQing will be so much more enjoyable going forward now. Really glad I chose this.
This was delayed, but after contacting them it was quickly resolved. It is now built and I’m very impressed. Very sturdy and looks great in our garden. Would definitely recommend.
Took 4 hours to build. Two person job. Looks lovely. But it does move around on the patio on a normal windy day. There’s nothing to secure it to the ground.
How do people secure it to prevent it from moving around – what are you all using? I don’t think this structure will last long.
We installed this on our new build house, not as a garden feature at first but as a sun shield as patio doors are totally in sun all day and this makes it hard to keep cool or see TV and we needed dark thick curtains inside to stop being blinded by sunlight. It wasn’t as easy to get upright as others have said and we had to build concrete footings in ground and make sure we attached to house wall with ultra strong fittings and chains. The instructions are worse than awful for getting the canvas up and it took longer than it should have. However the top puuls easily together and the velcro to keep the two halves joined is super strong. The frame needed extra help to stop it moving so we also built planters on garden side legs, weighed down inside with sandbags. Our garden is narrow but subject to a lot of wind so we needed firm supports. We did not use the fittings supplied to tether it down as we used stronger concrete bolts. I painted all the fittings at the top with rain proof paint as one review said it might rust. All in all it was a pain to get right but is now stronger than expected and hopefully will last a couple of summers. It also matched perfectly our new builds windows and doors. The frame is so good that even if the canvas shreds we will consider putting a conservatory type solid roof on in future if it lasts.
Well built, straightforward to erect. Took me about an hour to assemble main units on my own and then just needed a hand to lift and insert bottom part of the legs. The way the fittings go together means you cant put them together wrong. Overall quality excellent. Quick delivery and good customer service.
Only negative is that rainwater can collect in the cover between the bars. I inserted spacers under the top bar to raise it and that has mainly solved this problem.
Looks and feels nice and solid, although it’s still in the box, straddled across my kitchen table at present. As I’m far too lazy to construct it myself and its been too cold to venture out into my overgrown jungle.
My mate, who’s a gardner, is also feeling under the weather so I’m using him as an excuse to not make a start on the back garden this year. Instead I’m spending most of my downtime lying around watching Sky Sports and listening to all the Lewis Hamilton fanboys getting super excited for his switch to Ferarri…
Good quality, strong and sturdy pergola. The canapy was tricky to fit as instructions were a bit sketchy. The only slight critism is the canopy doesn’t stay at the outer edge when it’s windy. It blows to the middle.
Extremely pleased with this product. Exactly what we wanted and good quality for the price. Sturdy and well constructed. Canopy was the only tricky part of the build but soon resolved after a bit of head scratching. Would recommend
This was a challenging & heavy task to build. However, that is because it’s heavy parts mean it’s strong and sturdy.
I’ve now been using this for a month. It provides good shade when positioned correctly. The fabric can be moved up and down each side – see pictures to track the sun.
It provides privacy from neighbours as well.
I’ve found I’m using my outdoor space so much more now I have this.
I highly recommend this product, although only similar ones are available now under a different company name.
My only criticism would be the fabric could have been a bit wider and go to the edges of the metal structure. I may yet add further fabric as time goes on. See how it lasts.
Considering similar things (not as good in my opinion) are available in B&Q etc for double the price, I think this is great value, for a good simple, functional design.
Has made my garden special & a more enjoyable outdoor space.
It is exactly what we wanted. It goes together very easily. Just make sure you measure correctly and measure twice. Otherwise it may not be square. It will still work, but it is going to be better if you measure properly. Love it. Highly recommend.
Great product, fantastic customer, easy to follow instructions and easy to erect. Would certainly recommend. Couldnt have been more helpful with a slight issue but sorted straight away.
Thank you
Excellent product, instruction perfect, packed really well, well made and excellent finish on all parts.
When opening the box and checking parts, some items are inside the legs so don’t think things are missing like I did.
My build was not straight forward, we have mounted it on our deck which is tiered, I had to shorten one leg and extend three (see photo).
Only one very minor point, the middle hooks (P2) needed a 90 degree twist so that they lined up with the canopy rods (H1 and H2).
Well designed and sturdy, has made a pleasant addition to my patio. Easy to erect with two people. Time will tell if it can withstand heavy winds or gales, but up to now, its perfect.
Great pergola. Very large make sure you do measure up first especially the height! Provides excellent shade. But the description says black coated finish and it is definitely brown. We may have to spray paint it as the brown looks odd in our garden.
Perfect, exactly what I wanted, could be a tad bigger length ways but large enough for a rattan sofa or small dining set. Lights work, blue tooth works, speaker buzzes which is such a shame, really ruins the highlight of the product. Delivery…….just awful! Tuffnells really are the Evri of large item delivery
Having read the reviews of others I decided this was exactly what I was after. I am not disappointed, it is a sturdy structure, gives great shade and ideal having the retractable roof. It was take 3-4 people to put it together and then walk it into position but fairly straightforward to erect. Would recommend!

Great value for money, fairly easy to assemble, although you will need help to move into position and a set of step ladders will come in handy. Sturdy enough when fixed using the pegs provided to secure to ground, I have added some weights (not supplied) around the feet for additional stability. All fixings fitted perfectly, no need for any modification, and supplied with a few extra bolts just in case, although I did not need to use them. Good size and will easily hold a table and chairs below. Very pleased. I did not rate the water resistance as the canopy can be retracted when not in use and it has not rained since I have had it in position, and I don’t intend to leave the canopy in position should it rain. I have also used some tie backs (not supplied) to securely hold the canopy in the open position when not un use. I intend to completely remove the canopy during the winter months and leave the frame in position. So far very pleased with the purchase and a good upgrade on my previous gazebo.
The 3mx3m pergola is made of metal box sections with pre cut holes for putting together with screwdriver and wrench. The grey colour has a clean modern and blend in to green space very nicely. I managed to put it together in around 4 hours on my own, it will be a lot quicker with an extra pair of hands with the canopy.
The metal structure is nice and strong, the metal plates at the pole going into the ground has holes for garden peg or ground screws. As long as all the bolts are fasten the structure will resists to wobble and will stand straight. The canopy is made of waterproof materials, rain will not get through etc. It block sun enough to create a cool shaded area in the summer.
When not in use the canopy can be split in two from the middle, Velcro strap to tie down to stop it from flapping around in the wind etc. The folds in between the poles will trap some water and in fully closed position it will squeeze most of the water out.
The canopy is not designed to be easily removed, each of the pole and middle section needs to be removed in order to take out the cloth which I am not happy about, I will have to make some changes to how the canopy is “hanged” as I like to take it off and put back on as and when needed.
Overall it is a nice low budget pergola, can be built quickly and can be taken down easily as long as the bolt threads are not damaged. Now I need some nice garden furnitures to finish the luxury look.
I was impressed by this gazebo/shelter, intended by me for use as a semi-permanent peahen day roost/feeding station. With its welded frame elements and bolted construction it appears sturdy, and the few ‘snap-together’ spring-loaded joints are robust. The instructions aren’t bad and construction is anyway fairly intuitive. The components were crisply machined and accurately drilled, so every bolt fitted perfectly. The roof is close fitting and looks to be more durable than the cheaper sort of woven polyethylene. It is also elegant and pretty good-looking. Time will tell how well, with gaffer-taped strut joints and heavy-duty ground anchors, it will survive the sort of weather it’s not intended for, but I have high hopes.
Update. Three years on, this product has far exceeded my expectations. Against the product advice it has stood out permanently through three summers and winters, surviving gales and snow. Aside from slinging cord over to tie it down in forecast exceptional storms (more to stop the cover blowing away across the fields than anything else), it has stood up to everything. The roof cover is now wearing thin, and small holes/rips are appearing at the six points where the canvas rubs on frame bolts, but the frame and paintwork is sound. A pity that it seems difficult to source a well-fitting replacement cover (I am contemplating making a solid roof from polycarbonate sheet or some other material.
