At time of review, this is priced at just under 14.50. I think it’s quite reasonably priced at that.
It can clamp onto pretty much any surface. From there, you can attach a camera or smart phone to if and get a 360 degree field of movement for camera angles.
It’s very easy to use and also is strong and sturdy when clamped and doesn’t move.
Great for filming static close up macro videos or also for clamping to a moving object for something more action based and happy to recommend.
If you often take videos or photos in different places so can’t have a proper camera mount setup, this clamp is a great, versatile tool to get steady images.
The clamp opens quite wide and can securely attach to various materials. Once clamped, you can easily mount a camera to the other end which has a standard tripod screw mount. The whole mount is sturdy enough to hold a fairly heavy camera steady in the place where you want it to be.
For around 17, I think this is quite a good deal and I would definitely recommend it.
I recently bought an insta360 x3 camera and it came with a selfie stick which is stitched out by the camera’s software and I wanted to be able to take this on a bike ride. This mount worked 100% perfectly and did EXACTLY what I wanted it to do. It is incredibly easy to use, there are two screws which are easily manipulated, which allow you to tighten the clamp around the desired surface (in this case my handlebars) and the other allows you to set your camera at the perfect angle. It flexes pretty much every way you need it to go, the clamp has two movable feet so you get a tight clamp but also not to scratch or damage whatever you’re clamping it to.
It has the standard fittings to screw camera equipment on and comes with a screw on top which will allow you to slide in say a standard go pro attachment.
It is actually just perfect and exactly what I needed it. I can see 100 uses for it and I know it’ll be perfect exactly for that.
This camera clamping mount comes in a plain cardboard box with an included GoPro attachment. I think it would’ve been a handy addition if it came with a storage bag, but if you’ve got a photography kit/bag it’s compact enough that it would fit without taking up too much space
I got this for my brothers to use when they’re out and about in their classic cars, and it was really easy for them to mount it to the bumpers on a VW Beetle and the window of a Cortina. They had a blast using it with their GoPro, it stayed firmly in place and didn’t cause damage to the cars
This is a very strong photography clamp, suitable for table or pole mounting. The clamp body has two inch sockets threaded onto one side and 3/8-inch sockets on the other side, useful for attaching accessories directly. The clamp made a really good first impression with me, which is half the battle.
A standout feature is that the ball mounts are machined so that they grip very well within the joint. I have a number of accessories with ball mounts that are just not up to the job and keep allowing kit to slip out of place. Once tightened, the mounts with this clamp are far harder to move. The clamp kit includes a GoPro Hero mount, which I don’t use but will definitely be important to many.
Another great feature is that the hinged clamps swing out of the way so that the clamp can be secured to a pole. All contact surfaces are rubberized to protect whatever you are mounting the clamp to, which is important for a table surface, but also to protect the chrome finish of your equipment stands.
I have a slight concern that the paint does not extend to the threads, which does not effect the threads themselves but may indicate that the paint coat is quite thin. Hopefully the paint will stay on, but it depends on the surface before paint application at the factory. Treat it carefully, I suppose.
Back onto the plus side, I also liked that the clamp contours are rounded, which means that the clamp is easier to operate around other equipment with a reduced risk of any damage should they come together, again preserving the paint finish, but more importantly, your delicate camera, which is never going to be as robust as this clamp.
To round up, I am going to get a lot of use out of this clamp, both in photography and also with my music, as I have a surprising number of bits of kit clamped to my music and microphone stands. The value for money is so good that it is easy for me to recommend this clamp.
I am really impressed with this little unit, it is light but well built and sturdy moving parts. It can be attached to tables, doors, fences, railings, etc.. The head has a thread which fits most cameras (like a tripod mount) and there is also a Gopro attachment if you have one of those. It holds my compact camera very steady and I think it would hold an SLR as long as the lens isn’t too big or heavy.
The unit can be adjusted to any angle and is now an essential item I carry when I’m out and about.
Of course you can have situations where there is nothing to attach it to and a tripod would be more suitable but this thing is brilliant.
I was expecting a more flimsy product but this one is sturdy and of good quality.
Smooth and reassuring in operation. It clamps well, it has rubber pads in key places and it can easily be tightened in place and keeps your setup up firm.
It does what you would expect it to do without problems. Nice quality overall.
I do a lot of land sailing and have tried several clamps for mounting my GoPro with limited success. The yacht is made from stainless steel so the bars are smooth, therefore clamps have to be very grippy otherwise they gradually slide down due to vibration and gravity.
I tried this new clamp in various different locations, including side, end and handlebar mountings and it was very solid with minimal movement. I think that the rotating heads on the ends of the clamps helped a lot, providing extra grip.
The main thumb screw is a good length so it’s easy to get it really tight, and the rotating dual ball head is very firm when fully hand tightened too. There are a good range of mounting positions available within the limitations of the length of the arm.
At 17 this is good value, I rate it highly and it will get plenty of use over the coming months.
In a nutshell:
Things I liked:
+ Great little clamp. I have a few of these. This is one of the smaller ones but is also one of the the cheapest. Crucially, it’s just as good as the others.
+ I would trust it with an SLR with a short lens attached. Maybe not a longer lens though.
+ Cleverly designed – loads of different mounting points and the two double-ended adapters give you lots of options.
+ Clever jaw allows solid clamping on flat surfaces or around bars or other cylinders too.
+ GoPro adapter included as well as standard 1/4″ and 3/8″ screws.
Things I didn’t like:
– Somewhat smaller than I expected. Pay attention to the max weight for cameras (3.5kg) and lighting (1.5kg!)
Do I recommend it?
Absolutely. These clamps are an absolute godsend – they’ve got me out of more than a few pickles – and this one is a smaller version at a really reasonable price. Great clamp.
The thing I find most impressive about this is that it is very smooth.
All of the threads on this are very clean, and smooth, they spin easily, and tighten very well, and I can be a touch heavy handed at times and over tighten things, and thus far, I haven’t once felt like any of the Threads are going to strip or fail, they have in fact just tightened well.
The whole thing seems to be very good quality in my opinion, the finish is very nice and consistent all over, and I like how smooth and easy to use the mechanisms are.
I really like the fact that the siliconised pads on the main legs are on both a “Rounded” edges, and “Flat” edges, which means not only can I attach this to my desk, but I can also add this to any of my tripods, monopods etc, or and flat edge or rounded pole, it just gives this, or, me using this, so much versatility in the ways I can use this to mount either a phone or an action cam, which is great for me as I use both regularly.
Something that surprised me quite a lot about this is how lightweight it is, it’s far lighter than the previous ones I’ve used, which I find impressive, because it means I can carry it easier. I even find this lightweight enough to pop it into my trouser/jeans, pocket and carry it that way, which I usually wouldn’t do.
All in all, for me, this is a well made, nicely designed, very functional unit, that adds good versatility to my mounting options.
Using this to hold up an iphone on a photo mount to an 8020 channel rig. Yes, I could use t-nuts but I find that externally clamped holders tend to be a bit more stable and flexible. I’m happy to say this clamp, replacing an older one using tension, is great. The adjustability of both the clamp and shoe side are extensive — it’s very easy to move the position and lock it in place. Granted, I’m not using anything as heavy as an SLR but I feel confident this could be torqued adequately to hold something that hefty in place. Great clamp.
I am really impressed with this clamp. It seems to be solidly built and a good quality item. The clamp opens to well over two inches and has a rounded section to clamp over round poles and pipes plus each leg has a hinged flat section so it can clamp firmly on something flat like a desk or door. A neat trick I found and I dont know if this was intended is that the hinged flat sections will turn 180 degrees so the clamp can be used “in reverse” and lock into a gap. Limited use for that maybe but it adds to the flexibility.
Another aid to flexibility is that one side of each clamp arm has a standard 1/4 threaded hole as is standard on photographic items so it can be used for various other items of kit. The opposite sides have 3/8 holes for professional kit.
The universal joint screws into a 1/4 thread on the base of one arm and the other arm has 3/8 threaded hole. I can imagine the it would be easy to just unscrew the ball joint for the camera attachment and then the clamp could fit s tripod and the clamp itself used to hold items that dont have standard screw attachment.
Now on to the universal joint and another example of the maker thinking it through. The two ball joints on this section have distinctive rings cut into them rather than being a smooth surface. That means that without putting a high pressure on the locking screw the joint holds even heavy items quite firmly. Finally there us a standard 1/4 screw to hold camera etc. and a standard action camera adapter to screw on if needed.
I am actually using the clamp for a heavy Pro iPhone and a phone clamp easily screws on and gives s solid platform.
This arrived in a simple box wrapped in a plastic bag. I was interested in this clamp/mount as I often need to mount my action camera at different angles when recording 3D prints or side view assembly videos.
First impressions: the clamp appears well made with two main adjustments having a t-bar end to them, making them easy to open and close. The holding clamp has rubber on the internal parts for holding to a round fixing, and rubber on the feet for a square surface. The top section adjusts in two parts with the single t-bar to release and adjust.
I have been using this since it arrived, and although it looks a bit strange I have been really impressed with the fine adjustment you are able to get with it, and different angles. The adjustment is really quick and easy with the locking system so you can adjust by tiny amounts to get the exact angle you want. This holds really solidly with the bottom clam to both round and square surfaces, and can be manipulated into virtually any position you want.
Overall I have used multiple stands and snake neck holders, but have never found a device like this that can get the positions I require, and not suffer from wobble or movement easily. This device looks a bit odd but I have been more than impressed with the unique design that gives precise control, and that easily locks solidly into the desired position. I have no hesitation in giving this five stars.
I’m very pleased with this extremely well made clamp. There’s a lot of adjustment and I like the novel idea of having rotating “feet” so you can cope with square piping as well as round piping that you clamp onto.
The magic arm integrated into the clamp gives plenty of flexibility as to angle of whatever you attach, such as an LED light. I have another clamp that I’ve just made a review on and that one has spigots that do not allow such angle adjustment.
This is well made and very versatile. You can see more about it in the video I made, but I’m very happy with it and definitely feel it’s worth the 5 stars.
It’s not just for action cameras, by the way. You can mount LED lights, microphones or even a very small camera would be fine.
Nice and easy to adjust the various locks as well and you get a very secure lock when you tighten everything. Well made. Very pleased with it.
This is very sturdy and well made.
There is a tripod screw so you can use it with any camera that has a tripod attaching thread.
You get an adapter that screws onto the tripod screw to allow action cams such as go pro to fit.
The clamp part is sturdy and the camera holding bit has a ball and socket adjustment that tightens down very securely to keep it from moving.
The ball and socket is at both ends so there is a lot of angle adjustment but you do have to adjust both and tighten with the same tightening knob.
This is perfect when you want to record yourself demonstrating various techniques or for fitting beside something you want to time lapse or stream live.
We got it to video ourselves jumping rope outdoors and it will fix to a fence post or edge of a door so we can then look back and see where we go wrong on difficult jumps.
In the round .this will tighten down to hold onto 12mm round shapes and up to roughly 2 ” poles and posts
The flat jaws allow it to tighten onto anything up to about 2 1/4″ thick so it will tighten onto sheets of metal if they are strong enough to hold the weight of the bracket and the camera.
It easily tightens onto a desk edge.
I think you could use it on a handlebar of a bike , push handle of your shopping trolley etc though you would need to check it for tightness due to vibrations.
The jaws are round section with a picoting flat sectioned extension so you can push the flat bit out and use just the rounded surface for fixing on poles or push the pivoting parts inwards to hold firm on squarer shapes
This doesn’t have a way to use it with mobile phones
This camera mount has great versatility – being able to support a DSLR (or compact camera), or action camera (using the enclosed attachment), or accessories like lights and microphones. The clamp is all metal and has two ball joints (both tightened together with a single knob). The jaws of the clamp open wide enough to grab a table top, or can grab onto a pole. I really love the all metal design, and it looks like it will last a good long time. There are rubber grips on the jaws and on the 1/4″ screw mount. The action camera attachment is all plastic, and feels a bit like an after thought compared to the main clamp. However, it works just fine.
The CAMOLO Action Camera Super Clamp is amazing. The product is all constructed of aluminum so it’s very robust and a sturdy clamp.
We can adjust the head of the clamp to multiple angles, and it allows me to mount various accessories such as video lights to my tripod, or create some overhead lighting the video like clamped to something overhead.
We also get a GoPro mount, which is a nice addition to the kit.
Overall, this is a fantastic super clamp! And it allows you to clamp various accessories where you wouldn’t normally be able to.
It’s an awesome produc
I’m always looking for a good quality clamp as I need to position my 360 cameras in some precarious places, often with less than optimum surfaces and at odd angles. Along with the clamp I received a double ended ball mount with 1/4in thread and a plastic gopro adaptor.
The quality of the CAMOLO mount and the double ended ball mount is great and it does exactly what it supposed to and does it well. I have no concerns using to attach my camera to some oddly shaped surfaces or even to my bike. The extra “feet” on the clamp do a great job of providing flat surfaces to supplement the traditional jaws, especially where the surface is thin.
The clamp is primarily of metal construction with all surfaces well finished and rounded/ coated so not to scratch whatever I’m clamping to.
All in all, a great clamp at a decent price, very happy with it so far.
This is a very handy ball head clamp and is really well built and sturdy.
The screw action of the clamp is smooth and tight and the ball head moves and stops nicely too.
It’s definitely robust enough to hold an action cam, led panel or flashgun.l, if using for a 360 cam on a long pole be sure to add a second point of attachment as the screw will snap on rought terrain – no fair of the clamp, it’s just physics!
Handy bit of kit for the camera bag.
A decent enough clamp for getting a solid hold but not as good as some. Would be nice to have at least one stud to screw into the camera/clamp
This ‘Super Clamp’ with Action Camera Mount arrives well packed in a plain brown, unbranded cardboard box. Inside the box is the clamp and an action camera adapter.
The clamp is well made and has a reasonably good finish, although there were a couple rough edges here and there. Made of aluminium alloy, it feels robust and should prove durable.
The arm section and two ball heads work well together, and allow you to position the clamp at a variety of different angles and orientations. A single nut is used to tighten/loosen both joints at the same time. The 2.5cm plate has a 1/4″-20 thread, and also has a silicon pad which helps to grip and protect any equipment you attach to it.
The clamp system on the whole works well. The pivot tips allow the clamp to clamp onto flat surfaces such as tables, shelves, window sills, etc. without damaging them. These tips can fold back out of the way so that the curved ‘V’ shaped grooves in the clamp, can clamp onto pipes, poles, rods, etc. Both the pivot tips and the ‘V’ shaped grooves have silicon rubber pads to help with grip and protect the object being clamps onto. Despite this, when clamping to flat surfaces, although the clamp held in place securely enough that your equipment wouldn’t fall, I was still able to twist the clamp to the left or right. Whilst this shouldn’t be a problem for many, if you want to use the clamp to attach your equipment to a flat surface, so that it will lock in place and won’t ever move even if brushed against or knocked, it won’t be suitable for that.
The clamp has several mounting sockets built into it, but there are none in the arm section. On one side of the clamp are two 1/4″-20 sockets with Arri compatible locating holes, and on the opposite side there are two 3/8″-16 sockets also with Arri compatible locating holes. On the rear end of one of the clamp’s ‘claws’ is a 3/8″-16 socket and on the outer edge of the opposite ‘claw’ is a single 1/4″-20 socket. These allow you to attach additional equipment whether directly, or through the use of extension arms.
The action camera mount is basic but does the job. It is mostly made of plastic, with a stainless steal thread and nut, and a metal 1/4″-20 socket in the base.
In conclusion this is a well made, versatile, easy to use clamp. However, its usefulness is hampered by the fact that whilst the pivot tips aid in allowing it to grip to flat surfaces, due to the pads/size of the tips used, they are not able to prevent the clamp from still being able to twist when locked in place. Whilst this might not be an issue for some, for anyone who needs a clamp that they can rely on to keep their equipment locked in place and lined up, it will be a deal breaker.
