The pan is very big, but what a great size. We are a family of 4 and even when my daughter wants to help cook the food does not spill over the side. I love the depth and the conduction and dispersion of heat is great. I would highly recommend this pan to people. Great purchase at a brilliant price.
After purchasing an induction hob and down sizing our cooking pan requirements I went in the hunt for a pan that had to look good, had a good 5 star rating and was a fair price and had the build quality.
This french brand ticked all of these with a well weighted stylish pan that has the black ceramic coating inside and a glass lid with stylish wooden handles.
I only purchased the frying pan but now intend to buy 2 smaller pans as well for our downsized cooking pan requirements but if I was looking for a full set there is an excellent offer of just about every pan requirement for 89 as I write this review.
I have been cooking for 60 years.
I have used all methods of cooking, for a family of 6 for 35 years.
All types of food. This range of Cookwear is by far the best I have ever used !!!
When we retired we bought a Motorhome, we toured all countries from UK to Russia and everything in between over 6 years, 286,000 miles. Oh that I had known about this range of Cookwear then. They enable you to use all methods of cooking. All cookers. Induction, ceramic, gas, electricity. They clean in a heartbeat. Minimum washing up liquids. Just exceptional!!!
All Saucepans that I have ever used have been discarded and replaced with this range. Thank you for the opportunity of telling you my experience.
Very nice pan but the base of the it is not 24cm…or at least near to… hence I returned it. But looks a good solid pan plus a lovely colour!
Thought it might be a bit too big, but it’s great. Gets used 4 times a day. End of cooking, put a little squeeze of detergent into the pan, run it under the tap, wipe with a dishcloth, and ready to use again.
Using it for the past few days for a variation of pasta, curry etc, it heats up well on a gas hob, and does its job. I like the pouring extensions at both sides, perfect for adding sauce to the dish after getting more solid food onto the platter. The lid fits nicely.
My only concern is the visible wear and tear that has been done after about a week of use, there are scratches at the bottom of the dish even though only a wooden spatula was used when cooking, so hopefully, I can get at least a few months’ uses out of this…
Nice pan, not too big but good for saucy dishes as it has some depth to it. Not as deep as you the pictures make it out to be though. Looks aesthetically pleasing
This pan has great non-stick quality and it’s super easy to clean. It is q a lot bigger than I imagined- definitely more like a wok in size and depth than a deep frying pan which was what I was after. Still, it’s a great pan!
I originally bought this pan as a replacement for a steel frying pan (which absolutely everything stu k to)
The box it came in was huge, because the frying pan itself is huge! This initially put me off it as looking a couple of sausages in it makes them look like willy winkles. I have however repurchased it as a wok and it’s much better than my old carbon steel wok.
Nothing sticks to it so any type of stir-fry works great. I’ve also made curries and stews in it given it’s depth and lid.
All in all, this is a great pan but please check thr size before buying as it might not be suitable.
Wish I’d bought this years ago! It looks so great in white that I leave out on stove as I use it practically every day. So easy to clean with a soft cloth or sponge, no scrubbing, and never sticks. Very versatile, don’t use any other pan now. Cooks risotto, stir fries, casseroles (with lid). Hardly ever use oven now so save heaps on electricity. Great product and good value.
Bought this after my other pan wore out very quickly
I must say this is fantastic, to use & clean, no signs or wear or tear and I’ve had it months
Highly recommend!
A non-stick 24cm wok with lid is extrely rare; I have found 20cm and 28cm ones are extrely common but 24? No. Don’t know why not because 28cm is just too wide on a standard 4 ring hob of 600mm wide. OK, on an electric variant of hob ou can put it over a bit but on a gas hob, you can’t use a 28cm and 3 other saucepans without at least one of them falling off.
Thus forced to buy something like this as alternative.
Hve to admit not actually used this model yet but am still using its predessor model. The main reason of buying this brand is that having tried some of the others below 30 price mark, the handle come loose well before the non-stice surface gets worn. So am giving this 4 stars until I finally get to use it.
Bought to make casseroles on the hob instead of the inefficient oven and without the concerns of a slow cooker with many part to fail at their designed time.
After cooking some bacon for a bacon roll as a first test I failed to turn the heat off as I enjoyed the roll in another room. Coming back to the pan a couple of hours later it didn’t look good.
Turned off the the heat and let it cool slowly and once it was just added some cold water and let it sit for a day, I wasn’t hopeful. When I came back to it it took very little to remove all signs and it’s back to pristine condition. Perhaps the manufacturing process has it reaching higher temperatures than I can give it?
Working nicely now for it’s intended purpose.
Having seen this on Amazon, decided to buy. I particularly liked the idea that it was not Teflon coated. I liked this particular colour also. I’m now a convert, they are fantastic to cook with, I wipe the pan with a little olive oil before frying. All the foods do not stick, and if cooked on a low heat never burn. I now use to cook any steak meats and chicken breast, the meat is much softer than oven cooking. Mixed vegetable rice works well as does cooked pasta and vegetables. I like them so much have bought another saut pan and two normal pans. Washing them is a breeze with warm soapy water, definitely highly recommend, well worth the investment.
I bought this on a warehouse special. I knew it was going to be big, but I didn’t realise it would be this big. So I would advise customers to carefully check the dimensions before purchase. It is in fact A bit too large for the purpose I bought it for, but I won’t rate down for my mistake, and at the price I paid for it, I can use it for other things.
I bought this for toasted cheese sandwiches. They are my sons favourite food and I wanted to be able to make them without soaking them in butter. This actually does make lovely sandwiches. The finish means they turn easily and don’t need much butter to avoid sticking.
We have also made eggs, sausage and bacon. The first batch of bacon was made with no oil. It didn’t stick, but the bacon didn’t taste the same without a tiny drop of oil. Next we made sausage, which had more than enough fat. I wiped most of the fat out with kitchen roll before making the eggs, as I do not like greasy eggs. Again, they came out perfectly . You can cook nearly anything without oil with this type of surface, but You will find some foods just don’t get the same texture or taste the same without a drop of some sort of fat.
My only issue is that this is bit large for every day use. So I bought a smaller groan for eggs and sandwiches and will use this only for cooking large amounts of food, or something like soup or pot roast.
The heat was very even , the bottom of the pan completely flat, and the handles look and feel very nice. After cooking, it’s just a matter of filling the pan with water and setting back on the ring. By the time dinner is finished, the water will have heated up and you can just wipe the pan out quickly , rinse and dry. You can use a tiny drop of washing up liquid if needed.
It is not recommended to use a dishwasher as this can damage the non stick coating. And of course you are not meant to use metal utensils.
The handles on this pan look like wood, but they are a type of plastic. Whether wood or plastic though, neither goes on the oven.
In addition to be Far better than traditional non stick pans for low or no oil cooking, these pans also avoid the nasty smell that comes from Teflon type coatings. I am.extremely sensitive to chemical smells, so this is very important to me.
In addition, we own a parrot. It is not in the kitchen, but even so , the times from Teflon coated cookware can kill birds in small amounts. And if it is that dangerous for a bird, I would prefer not t have my children exposed to it .
There is no consensus on the safety of granite cookware with birds. However , because it is free of the chemical that causes the poisoning, polytetrafluoroethylene, it should be safe. Most of the sources I have found say as long the cookware has no PFOA or PTFE it is considered safe.
It should be noted though that even oil can emit some fumes that are not healthy for birds and it’s best to remove parrots from the kitchen when cooking and there are some reports that say fumes from other forms of cookware can be dangerous if severely overheated.
At any rate, I certainly feel it much safer than traditional non stick coatings for birds, and probably for humans and other pets as well.
