These books are really nice, pretty illustrations, sturdy, nice songs. Unfortunately, the volume is very very high, uncomfortable even for me to listen to when the book is close to my face, as it is for my baby. I try to supervise him as much as possible, and muffle the sound with my hand or by having the book flat on a carpet, but it doesn’t always work. Would really love if the book was a little more quiet, as the sound level is quite excessive for a young baby.
Book was beautiful but when my grandson dropped it the music didn’t play through and started to stutter. I opened to check the battery thinking it might of shifted but I think it’s broken and he gets sad when the music abruptly stops.
Gorgeous little book for babies and young children – sturdy board pages and it plays classical music rather than the usual cheesy stuff you get on baby books.
A really nice gift and way to get little ears used to the sound of music, which is proven to have so many benefits from a young age.

It’s been proved classical music both stimulates and relaxes baby’s brains so this is a great choice for a younger child too. Ditty Bird books find a theme and run with it. As all the others this is made from thick card so easy to turn the page. Press a button on each page for the sounds linked to the themes. Fantastic gifts for one year old birthdays, there’s a whole range to choose from.
I love all types of music and feel it is important to introduce the classics to our babies too! So, this idea attracted me straight away. There are 6 double page illustrations of Ditty Bird and her friends , each one of which has a small sensor that you touch with your finger end (think child’s finger) and with the on/off switch set to on (on the back cover) then you get a lovely 20 seconds or so of Mozart played to you.
This is really a book, that just plays musical excerpts but they are worthwhile and are a good diversion for your child, as well as being a useful educational tool for them too.
I like this and so does our grandson!
I had never heard of Ditty Bird music books until this was offered for review but looking at the number of other reviews, they seem to be very popular. We have an eighteen month old toddler in the family so this has become a little present for him. His mum is thrilled and says he loves it. We are waiting to see how long the batteries last as many review suggest not long. We’ve bought a pack of spares but – so far – no complaints. She reports that the volume is quite low and that there’s no adjusting it, but that her little boy is enthralled with it none the less.
What an outstanding little, hard-backed book which provides an early introduction to classical music by Mozart. The illustrations are colourful and the information imparted is truly educational, if perhaps a bit beyond the comprehension of a 1 year old.
Instructions are provided and the battery to this book can be replaced.
I fell in love with this book right away. It’s never too early to introduce children to new things, and classical music is one of the most joyful things we can offer them. This book offers snippets of each piece of music and encourages children to get involved through movement, imagination, sound etc. It also encourages fine motor skills by way of pressing the buttons, and encourages creativity and musical appreciation. I just love it. Absolutely recommended.
Grandson loves these books, even has favorite song at 16 months! So much better than silly chirping birds. Educational. Classical music or silly noise…
He plays with it so much batteries run out quick.
This is the second
Classical Music Sound Book I bought for my 13 month grandson. The first one got lost after a couple months. He loved it so much that I had to buy another one. It amazes me that he can find the button to press on each page. ( I have to search for it at times.) He is a music lover and the music calms him.
Bought it for my niece who lives in England. LOL. This came from England originally but it was cheaper to order on Amazon here and send than it was to order on Amazon UK and pay their outrageous postage to England address and money conversion fees. My niece loves these books. She reads them by herself (nice thick cardboard) and has learned how to make the music start. I would say this has got to be the best thing out there for toddlers beginning to learn how to talk. We sent both the classical music (per request of her Mom) and the simple song rhymes (wheels on the bus, etc) . Of course, the simple songs are the biggest hit. She tries to mimic some of the sounds. Would never hesitate to purchase this again for a toddler.
Grandson really enjoys this book. We followed the instructions sent to us by e-mail from the manufacturer, which was very helpful. Highly recommend it. We’ll buy more of this product.
So far my 3-year-old loves this book. The musical segments combined with pictures and words keep engaged and asking questions. He says he likes Vivaldi now (which, as a former classical musician, I am very proud to hear).
My granddaughter is one year old and I was not sure she would figure out how the books work but it took her no time at all to find the little button. She loves to play the tunes and to dance along with the music. This is the third Ditty Bird book we have enjoyed together. Glad to have found these.
We love this book! So fun and educational! My 1.5 year old reaches for these books more than any other. And the music is realistic- not at all annoying. One thing though: one of our pages (the “”A little night music” page) now only plays the first few seconds of the song. All the rest are fine. It’s a little disappointing, since we’ve only had the book a few months and we’re relatively gentle with it (as gentle as a 1.5 year old can be).
These books are incredible! My son (2) and daughter (1) both will sit and page through these books multiple times through, starting and stopping the audio as they please. Great options in terms of different books and songs included. Definitely something for any kid! Easy to swap out batteries after many hours of use and customer service with the company has been top notch! I would recommend to any parent with young children to help encourage and develop a love for reading (and singing/dancing as well). Thanks Ditty Birds!
My 16mo loves this book! Great sound for an adult to hear as well. Just be prepared to buy backup batteries if your child loves it too as it probably only lasted ~2weeks with her rate of use and also make sure you have a very tiny screwdriver head because otherwise you’ll strip the screw to open the battery box.
