Very nice brushes! I needed some to finish an oil painting and they were smooth, pointy and pretty durable. I think with the variety of sizes I can even paint some miniatures I have. I also like the handle as it give a nice grip when working.
I’ve used them mostly for miniature model painting or detailed paint by numbers part and they have done a great job, the brush stays together nicely and feels nice to use.
Easy to hold and reposition grip. Good mix of sizes/fineness. Very happy. Beware, clean and store carefully each time so they don’t dry bent!! My bad, not the product.
Excellent value.
Bought these to paint warhammer miniatures and they are really great to work with tips stay pointy and grip feel comfortable in my hand.
4 star because the 00 brush was forked in packet as per picture and despite trying to reshape the brush would not form into a point.
I could send back through return process but all the other brushes were fine so decided to keep.
One of the best ones I have ever used.
Came in a neat package
Works very well
Easy to hold and use
Got 10 brushes, currently using just 1 of them and I am very happy with it.
Buying this wad a very good decisio
The point of the brushes are nice and firm providing a good work.
The only thing is 1 or 2 brushes on the kit are not very precise to work w fine lines.
I have had very expensive brushes in the past and I’ve bought cheap brushes in the past. So I was fully expecting these to do an ok job at best and not last long. But I was happily surprised to find these are actually great brushes. They have held their point extremely well and haven’t dropped any hairs, they are also very comfortable to use. I have recommended these to friends of mine as a good starter set of brushes, as their range of sizes and price point make them good for new painters who are trying to work out what brush sizes they like to use, without having to spend a lot of money. I would say, like all brushes you want to look after them. Don’t over fill them with paint – no more than 2/3rds up the hair. Wash them out afterwards. If you get dried paint on them, gently rub them with warm water and soap between your fingers. Don’t leave them standing in water or bash them against the sides when you rise them out. If you find they have got bent hairs, rub some hair styling matt clay into them while reforming the point, leave them to dry overnight and then rinse them out before using them – the point should remain.
I’m not an artist, but I bought these to use for small details on parts I design, so my thoughts are as more of a casual brush user rather than an artist.
First impressions of the brushes are that they are really nice to hold, the triangular “holder” part is incredibly ergonomic to the point it’s so perfect that I wonder if these had been custom made for me.
I’ve used the brushes on acrylic paints and varnishes and have had no issues and the brushes in my limited experience, seem very nice. The bristles are incredibly soft, and this is a trait I was after when I ordered these, I know where are various levers of stiffness, but these are very soft.
The pack has a good selection, although they are all on the finer end I guess, you wouldn’t use these for a large area, but if you’re modelling I think this pack has you covered.
Pleased with what I received and hopefully I’ll get quite a bit of use from them.
I bought these so I could do fine details on tops and jumpers that I paint on, the results are fabulous. I thought the hairs would be too soft on the brushes for painting on fabric and it would go a bit haywire but they are nice an straight and perfect for fine detail. Definitely worth investing for painting! So many options with size in this set and the smallest brushes are the perfect size for tiny details! Very easy to hold, and comfortable I was painting for 3 hours with these in my hand and had no discomfort! Very easy to clean off, I haven’t used them with oils only acrylics but so far it’s so easy to clean them and use them for a different colour!
They were all good quality brushes, however, I am not good quality carer and as a result I neglected a lot of these brushes. Thankfully they’re cheap and I’ll probably pick up another pack once I inevitably run the ones I have into the ground.
I use them to paint Warhammer miniatures and they work really well on them. Once you’ve gotten used to the feel of the bristles they can do a really solid job on them. I’d recommend you do what I didn’t and wash them thoroughly after each use, like run them under hot water once they’re used to get rid of excess gunk. Otherwise the bases will stick together and start shedding bristles rapidly, ruining the brush. The finest brush split after one use, can’t remember how, I don’t even remember using it but it was so small it barely had any use in the first place so I don’t really mind. Would still recommend the other 9 brushes as the two largest are a bit too large, but for 12 for 9 perfectly good brushes you really cannot complain much.
I love these brushes. I do a lot of Airfix and other models, so a good set of brushes is a must. I bought this pack on a whim to see what they were like. I was expecting them to be sub-standard and would only use them for rough painting and use the smallest 2 brushes for detail work.
But when they came and I tried them, I was blown away by how good they are for the money. They have fantastic ergonomics. You can hold them by their triangular grips or hold them closer to the bristles. The bristles themselves have been cut and shaped incredibly well, with no stragglers hanging off of the side, ruining your fine painting work. They aren’t quite as springy as I would have liked, but they do the job. I expect I shall buy another pack of these to use as my workhorses. After painting, a quick clean with either water or spirits depending on the paint you’ve been using, a wipe with a paper towel, and a twist of the bristles in the palm of your hand cleans them and sets the bristles back to a fine point. If you’re getting into model painting, whether it be Airfix, other plane/car/tank models, or warhammer, these are a great set of brushes to have. Much better than the ones that come with some airfix sets.
