Protecting Your Family Wash
1. For high risk items, wash laundry at higher temperature.
2. Where this is not possible, or if you choose to wash at low temperatures, ensure you add a laundry sanitizer or disinfectant to your wash to help protect against potentially harmful bacteria that may survive at lower temperatures.
3. Launder items used around food separately from other items.
4. When washing re-useable nappies/diapers, remove all solid material with tissue and discard it to the toilet. Wash nappies separately using a prewash cycle followed by a hot wash.
5. If a member of the family is unwell, try to wash their clothes separately with a laundry disinfectant to minimise the risk of spreading any infection.
6. Dry laundry as soon as possible after the wash as any remaining germs may multiply.
7. To stop the build-up of bacteria and other germs in your machine, use Dettol Washing Machine Cleaner every 2 months. Leave the door and detergent tray open after every use to allow internal surfaces to dry.

I have bought this product multiple times as it cleans the washing machine leaving it gleaming.
I bought this to clean the washing machine when I left a rented flat. Its very cheap and does a fantastic job.
It will create a lot of bubbles when it starts so don’t be alarmed if you see that.
Considering I haven’t ever used anything to clean my washing machine before, this worked really well. Not a perfect job to battle the years of neglect, but I’ve bought some more because I think it did work well and a couple more cleans will get things back on track!
I didn’t notice it foaming over at all, like some other people mentioned…but I didn’t sit there watching the whole cycle. No puddles afterwards atleast!
This worked great on my washing machine after doing my husbands work overalls there was a horrible smell but this cleared it have told friends who have tried and said same .
This is a fabulous product, I use it every so often to freshen up my washing machine. As all machines get a bit smelly, especially when it hasn’t been used for a couple of weeks, like when you go away. You can really notice the difference with using this every so often.

I’ve tried a variety of home concoctions and commercial cleaners over a few months to no avail, the washing machine still smelt fusty. First go with this and, hurrah, the fusty smell has gone. As some other reviewers have said there’s a lot (a lot!) of bubbles. I paused my washing machine for 15 minutes and the bubbles subsided to a sensible level. I think the bubbles that suddenly appeared in the washing liquid tray probably did a good job in cleaning all those hard to reach places thoroughly. I’m glad I bought the multipack, regular cleaning is the order of the day from now on!
I bought this in March this year , one bottle at 3.00 odd , seems to do the job , so went to order more , but it seems now you can only buy 2 at a time !!!!!!!!
I use this every month or so to stop the washing machine getting smelly – although my machine is used several times a week, it gets a horrible mouldy smell over time (our water is very hard and high in nitrates etc. which may be a factor). This cleaner is better than some other washing machine cleaners I’ve tried, more effective than washing soda, and if used regularly, does stop it smelling. It doesn’t automatically get rid of the black mould that tends to form in the dispenser drawer, in the pipes, and round the door seal, and you need to scrub those areas manually if that’s a problem where you live. It leaves a mild fresh scent which fades quickly.
It is very annoying that I need to run a hot wash once a month to clean the washing machine (surely they should be designed to stay clean! They brag about how eco friendly they are and promote low temperature washes, but you have to run a hot wash regularly just to clean them!), but that’s not the fault of the product.
