I didnt think this toy would be such a success with my 3 & 4yr old boys ! I bought this toy 1 month ago thinking they would lose interest like their other toys & stop playing with it after a few days but they’ve been playing with it everyday. It keeps them occupied and they love watching the car change colour.
The only downside is you have to keep refilling the container with warm water and it’s best to place the carwash inside a bathtub or a tray as water does splash everywhere. A good outdoor toy too. Overall a good toy.
My little boy loves this, it was easy to set up and for him to play with. Very clever idea of how this works and what it does, packaging was nice and bright, although a few bits were hard to get out the packaging.
We’ve seen a few videos of it before but the toy in real life is just really cool.
Only advise I’d give is to use ice cold water and lukewarm water as this makes all the difference to getting the really sharp colour changes!
This is an amazing car wash not only does it wash your car but it also changes the colour of the car. Very happy with this and product is made of good quality and is durability is good too.
My two year old loves playing with cars and water so this is perfect combination of two of her favorite activities. It is a bit expensive but you get a color changing car which is something. Mine doesn’t turn complete red and I expected it to be red initially as it is in the movie and maybe turn yellow when in cold water. It doesn’t bother me but it is something to consider.
Also make sure the water containers are closed when pouring water by pressing the shower button or else the water falls on the surface this is placed on.
The car is good quality and the whale car wash is also good.

My almost 3 year old loves playing with this. Even before we put water in it, he had a good time role playing, and “washing” Lightning McQueen and his other cars. It’s very sturdy and durable. Once we filled it with water, he had so much fun, and played with it for quite a while. It did get a bit wet and messy, but there isn’t enough water to be a problem. A little on the expensive side currently at 30.66, but it’s very fun and engaging, keeping the little one busy and happy.
This is such a cool and fun addition to any other sets you have but just as much fun on its own and love the element of the water and getting a bit messy – reminds me more of the toys we used to have in the 80s from themed cartons etc like He-man where there would be good and mess etc and really fun and interactive for any young Pixar Cars fans. In a weird way it never gets boring with the replay factor especially when mixed in with other sets in the range and its actually a really decent size for the price so would fully recommend.
I got this for my nephew who is a huge Lightning McQueen fan. He wasn’t disappointed at all! The play aspect is pretty limited but the idea is fun and playful which any young children would enjoy. The set only comes with one colour changing car but more can be added to add to the theme of play. My nephew did enjoy it which is what counts

This colour changing submarine car wash play set looks well made and not cheap. Has a smooth finish and has no rough edges.
My son’s favourite is the Lightning McQueen toy car that changes it’s colour from yellow to red. Warm water will change the car to red and cold water will change it back to yellow!
It costs 30.66 at the time of this review. The toy is nice however, price point for me is quite steep.
This car wash is a nice gift for any car movie lover. you put lightning McQueen at one end and then move the forklift toy to move lightning McQueen thru the car wash. As the car moves thru the car wash, it changes colour according to the water temperature. Then the car goes to the dying part and in the end, you can fuel up at the pump. it does provide some hours of fun. My only niggle with this toy is that because it involves water, things can get messy so better to play outside or put a waterproof sheet underneath.
This was fun toy that my youngest loved. It is a whale shaped car wash that you put the toy in and it changes colour as it goes through. The set could be improved by having more than one car but others will fit in also. It is meant as set that can join together with others and that would really extend the play but it could be quite costly. Otherwise it’s a fun toy that’s easy to use even for a two year old.

Can fit any die cast / plastic cars, but for full enjoyment you’ll want more colour changers. It only comes with Lightning McQueen.
That’s the main down side, I guess.

My 4 years old daughter really enjoys playing with this toy. It is very easy to set up, a little messy as she always drops water everywhere when carrying this play set around. Beautiful design, colourful, sturdy and durable material.
My little boy loves this as it combines his tow favourite things – cars and water! Easy to assemble and play with and provides plenty of engagement and fun. Would recommend this product, ideal for a gift too!
This is a fun toy for any little person who loves to play with cars not just an interest in Pixar cars. The fun element is how my little boy was magically able to turn the car from one colour to another. He really did think it was magic.
We decided it was better to play this toy outside due to the messy water element. This made it more fun as we could spread lots of cars out on the garden and use our imagination to create a theme.
The playset is made well and is durable to lots of play. It is easy to wipe down too.
This is a fun Disney cars themed play set that is well designed and it is a little messy but it is only water so there is no serious mess. So this is a tie in to the upcoming cars series on Disney plus called cars on the road, it is not out yet but us and our son are very excited for it and this toy is hyping us even further.
The toy comes with a large submarine, similar to the ones seen in cars 2, it has a path through the middle which is where you place lightning McQueen to change his colour. It is designed as a car wash and you use hot and cold water to change the colour of McQueen from red to yellow, it is a nice effect and our son loves to see it. I also like that it connects up to other sets to form a big play area.
My youngest loves those random colour coding videos for kids so I knew this was something he’d like. Combine that with his infatuation with vehicles, he immediately added this car wash set to his daily use list.
The general build quality is quite good and the gimmick of the included car changing colour interests him greatly.
All in all, I think we’re both happy with this playset and I might even look to collect the other associated playsets.
This toy is definitely one for Pixar fans. It is quite gadgety with water and cars involved and kept my youngest entertained for a while. I will say it is aimed at the younger audience’s the under 5’s. It’s well made and birghtly coloured and should last a good while.
This cars whale car wash comes nicely boxed and would be a great gift for a cars fan. You load Lightning McQueen in, then slide the forklift attendant to move the racer through the submarine-shaped car wash. A spray of warm water changes the Color Change vehicle’s look; a dunk into the icy cold water tank changes it back. Send the car through the “drying” foam rollers and you can fuel up at the pump. It really is like “magic” watching it, but it does provide limited fun, especially for such a big plastic toy.
Although Disney Cars is becoming a bit dated, I know some kids still really like it including my cousin’s son so I got this for him to play with. He liked it and loved that Lightening McQueen changed colour in the car wash but play with it is a bit limited but he still liked playing with Lightening separately with his other Cars.
It’s for age 4 plus. It’s quite messy to play with using the water but I’m sure most young kids will love it.
RRP is currently 29.85 which seems reasonable for a themed toy.
my grandson loves disney cars so we got this for him to play with. the set is really well made and he absolutley loves playing with it .he really likes the lights on it too
I have lost count of the times I have watched the Disney Car films with my grandchildren so this was a perfect present for them.
They love playing with cars anyway but this set is so much fun with the added plus that is contains one of their favourite character Lightning McQueen and also that there is a little magic along the way.
This is a very attractive toy, a submarine car wash that changes the colour of the Lightning McQueen car. The car turns bright yellow when it comes into contact with the warm water and then back to red as it goes back to normal temperatures.
My grandchildren enjoyed playing with this toy, especially operating the car wash with the forklift attendant. The car is sprayed with warm water which changes the colour of the car and then changing it back again when dipped in the cold water.
Ideally suitable for 3 year olds but my grandchildren are slightly older and loved it.
Although Disney Pixar Cars is getting a little dated now, kids still love watching it and playing with toy cars in general. This whale wash set is another fun way for them to play with Lightning McQueen and can easily be used alongside other sets.
You only get 1 car included, however others are available to buy separately. The included Lightning can change colours between his traditional red and yellow by dropping warm water onto him from the top of the whale wash or by dipping him in ice cold water.
You also have Guido the forklift that acts as a sliding handle to move the conveyor along inside the whale wash. It’s a shame that he’s not useable as a stand-alone toy, but at least it’s more interesting than a blank handle.
This is a fun set that kids could even play with in the bath. If used in the house, I’d definitely recommend a play mat down as your floor is going to get wet.
This is certainly recommended for any die hard Disney Cars fans that love water play.
i wasn’t sure my son would like this, I thought he’d get bored quickly but I was wrong. He loves it and I’m so lucky I was able to get it for him! He is a big fan of cars. My eldest (8) wasn’t as interested though.
It’s a lot bigger than I was expecting but no complaints about that. It came nicely presented in it’s own packaging, it would make a lovely gift for children.

A disney car wash, in the shape of a whale, there are easy instructions, ice cold water to turn the car red and warm water in the top tank then sprinkled on top of the car by pressing a red button on top of the car wash, making sure you are using warm water to turn him yellow. In the warm weather we put him in the freezer for a few minutes.
Inside the car was sits on the track and is moved along by a little truck which you pull back and forth. Feels well made, and nice and bright.
It entertained my grandson for a while, and he really enjoyed the water play, but soon got fed up. In the description it is advertising more playsets and cars, making play a bit longer, i feel it would have been better if there had been more track, making it more playable.
The price is about average
This has proved to be a big hit with our kids and their friends! Tiny amount of assembly required and the kids were able to figure it out for themselves!
The set comes with the car wash and Lightening McQueen. They way it is supposed to work is you put warm water in the top set Lightening up on the carwash and as he goes through push the button so the warm water turns him yellow. You can then place him in cold water to turn him back to red. The heat we have had recently has turned that a bit upside-down! He came out the packing yellow and we put cold water in to turn him red! There are 2 trays in the bottom one to fill with warm water and one with cold. Adding ice to the cold water works best to get Lightening McQueen fully red. I’m sure the colours will return to normal once the weather cools!
The kids had a fantastic time playing with it. I would recommend playing with it outside or on a surface you don’t mind getting wet as excitable kids will get water everywhere! The kids were all so excited to have a turn and after a whole day playing with it they never got bored! As a tip I would suggest keeping a bottle or jug of water at the ready to keep topping up the car wash unless you want to get your daily exercise by walking forwards and back to the taps! I highly recommend this toy. Colour changing is magic to the kids and playing with water is always a win. The car wash looks really nice. Everything works smoothly. If your kid likes Disney Cars or any kind of cars it’s a great buy that is sure to be loved!
This is a whale shaped submarine car wash with Disney’s Pixar Cars. It includes a colour changing Lightning McQueen car. It involves warm water poured on the top and a lower tray of icy water.
Things I liked:
– colour changing is a brilliant yellow(when warm)
– changing back to red (when cooled) is vibrant
– sliding forklist mechanism is fun
Overall, this is not themed by the movies but the Disney+ Cars on the Road series. Therefore, this will only appear to a smaller audience (not a worldwide film release) for Pixar Cars fans who want to re-enact a scene. The only nit pick is this item quite large and not IMO a display piece. Also, get ready for some messy play. You will need a towel to mop up plenty of spilt water. Also, shaking off the water when not it use… can be a pain. Remember to thoroughly dry colour changing Lightning McQueen car… as any internal metal parts will rust.

What an amazing toy. The things toys can do nowadays always amazes me! We did have colour changing ones when I was little but the extend it has gotten to is truly amazing. Love that it is almost magic like in little ones eyes and seeing their entire face light up makes this toy so worth it! Really interactive and almost sensory like. Simple to follow and do. Although I would still place a water proof mat, towel or a table cover underneath to avoid any spillage. However, that’s all part of the fun, right? Love that you can expand on this and get other bits and sets. Reason I removed one star is because the packaging was half open and to give this to a child as a gift does not look good. Looks like someone fully opened it and placed the toy back inside. Not something you would like to see when ordering a toy nor when received. Other than that I have absolutely no complaints. Your child will definitely get their fun out of this. Anything to do with water is always amazing to them, but now add colour changing it becomes a whole new thing!!! So worth i
