Fun, bit of Tec very easy to set up I didn’t face any problems and very happy with it so far. Lots and lots of art available to display very cool
I saw this in use on a retro site and thought I had to try it. Snapped this up when on sale and as soon as it arrived I installed the app and had it running in 10 minutes displaying lots of cool custom pixel art.
The catalogue of content is big and should offer most tastes something to display
Works exactly as expected, looks great in the background in my streaming room. Can have live sport scores or social media view / sub count. A lot of customisation options if you want to be creative. Would recommend as the quality is very good.
I really purchased the Pixoo 16 and I liked it so much that I have also purchased the Pixoo 64 version.
I watched a number of YouTube videos prior to watching this that showed it having a micro sd card slot, however, this is a more recent version where the micro sd card slot has been removed to make the device more stable.
I currently have it running via my already installed Divoom app on my tablet and connected to wifi as well as my Pixoo 16 showing Christmas pixel animations in the windows of my house as part of my Christmas decorations. The app whilst kind of clumsy and clunky does work fine, though takes some time to get used to.
Once Christmas is over it will be installed on the wall of my retro room to display pixel animations and other data such as weather and time.
I really do love these little devices, and what they can do. So far I’ve had it running for two days showing my Christmas animation with no problems at all.
I did purchase both of my devices during the recent Black Friday sales for much lower prices than the current rrp which makes them much better value so it may be worth holding out for an offer before purchasing.
While this art display will definitely add a colourful touch to the room it is in, the app to control the displays is quite confusing. I would say that this product is slightly overpriced and should be bought if you love cool gadgets like this and have time to get used to the app.
I really do love Divoom products, I started with the Ditto and then got the Planet9, both of which I adore. I had been eyeing up the Pixoo 64 for a while, however I am disappointed with how unstable it can be. It loses connection a lot that sometimes isn’t resolved until going through the setup process again. It restarts and gets stuck on the start-up screen a lot, and also can’t seem to handle a lot of the art that is provided on their app. Once it is working correctly though, it really is a nice looking addition to my setup.
