How does it charge?

The echo Dot fits onto the charging base which is then connected to the mains. Once it is charged you can disconnect from the mains and with the Echo Dot still fitted to the charging base.

Does this battery have a switch to control the battery work?

This battery have a button to control the switch, which avoid serious power consumption.

When we have the odd day when it is hot enough to go out the Wife likes to sunbath in the back garden. We have tried various bt speakers but this has worked a treat.

Over priced,it doesn’t come with it own charge cable and I struggled to get it to play in a group whilst plugged in,but it is good to be portable, so good when outside

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis battery pack sits below the Alexa 4th or 5th generation Dot, its is well made and looks like it’s OEM. This turns Alexa into a portable version provided it has a WiFi connection. The power lead from the device plugs in to keep the internal and sealed battery fully charged. There is a short fly lead which goes in turn into the Dot. I’m keeping this permanently attached so that when it’s time to go on the battery the Dot does not start to reconnect itself.

That’s about it, battery life is about 4-5 hours, there’s a row of blue leds to indicate charge state, there’s an adhesive metal disc which fixes to the bottom which helps keep the Dot in place. From discharge to fully charged it’s about 3 hours.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great little gadge

Absolutely love this. Well worth the money. It doesn’t add much to the size of the Echo, and makes it portable. We put it in the middle of the table when we’re eating. I’ve used it when decorating, playing BBC Sounds through it. Not having to plug it in is great. Battery life is very good. Lasted hours when I was painting walls! I’ve only plugged it in a couple of times since getting it, and it’s been used a lot. The magnet sticker underneath holds it in position, but pick it up by the base not the Echo device because the magnet isn’t very strong. There are battery bases which the Echo clips into, but they look more bulky and I think they were more expensive too.

5.0 out of 5 stars A brilliant thing.
