This is a good cord to use, it is strong and has a nice texture to tie with. We tested the strength very scientifically by anchoring it around two trees and me and my kids hanging off it, it didn’t break. The cord has a nylon shine to it but it’s not cheap slippy nylon and has enough grip to hold a tent hitch and enough slip so it easily comes undone. It was out on the weather overnight and it didn’t lose its feel.
Comes on a small reel with a pin and it didn’t fray at all pulling it around a tree.
Very pleased with this cord, we use cords a lot for making shelters of all kinds, washing lines, toy zip lines and whatever else we can think of.
It’s not the cheapest chord, you do get 50m of it and it is good to work with. I can easily recommend this, we use it for all sorts of things and it’s not let me down.
Paracord is always handy to have as it comes in useful for so many things such as tying a tarp between trees to create a sheltered space when camping or for securing a cover over a trailer or even to replace guide lines on a tent.
This paracord is nice and vibrant so it is great if you are using it as guide lines on a tent or an awning as it is easy to see so it is not likely that someone will trip over it.
It comes neatly coiled on a cardboard reel so it’s easy to store.
It feels nice and strong and you can cut it to whatever length you need. If you do cut it you can use a lighter to melt the end of the cord and it will stop it from fraying.
Overall it works great and there is plenty of it so it will last me a while.
This has many multiple uses
Got this to see and try..
Ordered the black..you carnt go wrong with this colour
The only downside is the price..pretty experience
Other than that a great produc
This paracord has many use: crafts like macrame, outdoor uses and many more things. Personally, I ordered it for macrame, I’m someone who is obsessed with anything relating to textiles so I instantly ordered this item. Initially, I realised it looks just like macrame rope on the outside so would work perfectly well for the purpose (as well as being said to be able to make bracelets in the description), but annoyingly, the inside is filled with white string which is quite loose and I noticed that it came out quite easily and would leave the blue outside quite floppy. However, if tied once cut the quality should remain fine.
The colour is quite bright and vivid, I have a feeling that this bright colour would fade overtime when used outside, but i shall update the review if it does.
It comes with a fair bit of paracord and to be honest is was a bit heavier that i thought it would be, which isn’t a problem but is something to bear in mind if you took it out for something like camping and hiking. Overall, it is great for many purposes but if for crafts (like the bracelet) it may be annoying due to the inside, but if knotted at the ends it should be ok.
I’ve used this rope for camping and it performed perfectly well.
You can set the correct length with basic knots (many apps to learn) and keep things on the ground or attached to something.
I also used it in my boot to keep things still.
The bright colour is a nice addition and avoids people tripping on it.
When cut, a couple of seconds on a flame seals the end.
Despite being thin, it is very strong and it performed very well in high wind.
Very good product.
This paracord arrived neatly wound onto a spool that was wrapped in shrink wrap plastic.
It’s good quality and as described in the product description. I ordered black. As usual, the cut ends can be welded using an ordinary lighter to prevent fraying.
There are so many uses for this stuff it’s pointless trying to list them. If you’re reading this then you already know about paracord and its multitude of uses!
What I like most about this cord is that it comes neatly wound on a spool so you can just pull off as much as you need easily. Most of the paracord I’ve bought in the past has arrived as a loosely wound coil that can easily get tangled.
This is good quality paracord but at 19.99 for 50m it is expensive so I’m knocking off a star because of this.
I recently order this 50m blue paracord to use for different crafts. It comes on a sturdy spool great for storage and easy to unreel the cord.
I have looked up some sites and plan to make a swinging chair using this green paracord and a palette, my son also wants to my a survival wristband he has seen, we also got a green reel so we can make some nice patterns.
The cord is extremely strong when pulled, but pretty easy to cut with a knife or good scissors.
There are a lot of uses for this type of cord and it could be used for fun or practical uses when camping and for survival kits.
Great value and we are very happy with it.
Not much else to say about it, it comes on a cardboard & plastic spool wrapped with a heat-shrink clear plastic so it arrived without any dust or debris on it. I don’t really use paracord anywhere near the actual rated limits so I can’t comment on the max holding capacity of this cord, but for general purpose use I have no complaints about it. As usual with any paracord I receive, I did take a small bit off the spool to inspect the cores and strand count and it does indeed have the expected 7 cores and a 32 strand count sheath that would qualify it as a type III paracord. It melts like every other paracord I’ve used with both a standard lighter or a plasma one, making it easy to seal the ends up to prevent fraying.
The only minor complaint I have is the cost, you can get high quality 550 paracord from many stores and vendors that are US/EU/UK made for around 3–6 quid less than this 50 metre spool from EdcX. It’s good quality stuff, but the price is a little higher than I’d be willing to pay on a regular basis for the standard bright/neon colours. Otherwise, I have no problem recommending this as a general-purpose, camping and survival paracord.
This is nice quality paracord that I’ve chosen to lace airbags into a new canoe. It cuts well with strong scissors, revealing the multi-strand core which frays easily. By simply heating the cut ends with a lighter they can be sealed to stop fraying. The paracord knots well and and the knots tighten down well and do not slip. One hundred metres is a lot of paracord and it would be nice if the drum had a cord retainer built in, but you can botch one by cutting the cardboard end to provide a slot to tuck the loose end of the cord into.
I hope the colour doesn’t fade – the purple is lovely – but will only be able to tell that after lots of exposure to sunlight (and it’s raining hard now). I’ll update the review if that happens. At just 25 p per metre you can’t go wrong. Recommended.
The EdcX 4mm Nylon Paracord 550 50m comes well secured for transport on a single, 50m spule.
The cord I selected was called Sofit Yellow, and it is equivalent to a neon green/yellow.
After cutting the required length, remember to use a lighter or a soldering iron, to protect the end of the cut ! The core of the paracord is loose( not firmly attached to an outer sleeve ) so you have to burn/melt them together to avoid moving the core inside.
The color is great, vibrant, and highly visible – just as I wanted.
The paracord is strong and holds its weight well.
It’s great for DIY, building things, and some arts and crafts.
Nothing so far.
Excellent value for money. Highly recommended.
How do I review a reel of cord? Well it’s really good value to start with. Moving on from there it looks and feels to be good quality and have used it so far for two very different applications. It has replaced some worn guys on a tent and am currently weaving some into a watch strap.
Summing up. If you are looking for 4mm paracord this is a really good quality reel.
I can see from the other reviews that paracord has lots of uses and now I feel a bit reluctant to say all I planned was to make bracelets from it!
That said, the 50 metres will make approx. 20 bracelets and there are many, many YouTube videos showing you how to do this. The cord is lovely quality and does not stretch. It also comes in a range of colours (I chose grey as I am making bracelets to represent brain tumour awareness)
I would shop around though, because there are cheaper options available
High quality high strength cord.
So many uses, from tents, boot laces, strapping down gazebos etc.
Plenty of it and lovely quality – I can definitely recommend this for a multitude of great uses.
Well packed, arrived quickly.
Good quality and very strong, just as you would expect from decent para cord.
Made a couple of bracelets for the kids and used some to replace the guide lines on my tent and very happy.
Love the fact it comes on a cardboard reel so no more untangling it or dealing with a knot as you are working with it..
For the price i will be buying more.
Good value cord. Nice colour…if I am being fussy the inner strands are a little loose within the outside cover. Not a big issue when being used tort but you will probably need to look elsewhere if you want to use this to make paracord bracelets and the like. So great for normal use but not for crafts.
The quality is on par right across the board.. no issues at all with any of them. Very well made paracord and soft to the touch. Quite nice if you’re going to make bracelets to have as emergency cord on your at all times during hikes or camping. A good range of colours as well so you can take your pick for what you use them for.
A reasonable price as well, competitive and worth the quality of product you get here..
Not a lot I can say with this one. The package is correct this time (previous one had 100m on the sticker but 50m on the product roll) So for that this one gets a full 5 stars.
Supplied on a neat roll of 50m length, this 4mm diameter paracord is made from the usual 7- strand weave, which produces a lightweight, strong cord.
Although not a stretchy, shock-loading cord (i.e it shouldn’t be used in climbing situations) the cord is said to have a breaking load of 250kg which makes it ideal for straightforward tasks at home and outdoors, such as load-hauling or tying down awnings, gazebos, large tents and all sorts of outdoor covers.
We used a length of this cord for threading through the eyelets of a large cover of garden furniture and the cord proved to be smooth and easy-handling. as well as being supple enough to be securely tied and knotted.
Provided that any cut end of the cord is heat-sealed to prevent the inner strands from fraying, this cord looks well able to withstand stretching and straining caused by high winds and bad weather.
This is an impressive, thin and tough paracord, recommended as suitable for a wide range of handy uses.
EdcX 4mm Nylon Paracord 550 100m (330 feet).
Paracord has so many uses it is just handy to have a roll, perfect for your camping kit, fishing kit, bracelet making, gardening, boating and so on.
Years ago everyone had a ball of string in the shed or garage, paracord does all the jobs string or even thin cord does but with way more strength, 4mm thick and it is rot proof.
This paracord has a weight limit of 550lbs so it is incredibly strong considering it’s thickness, it is simple to cut and you can burn the ends to stop any fraying.
There are multiple colours to choose from EdcX.
Overall, this is great paracord and very good value.
Nylon Cord, 100m, Blue
=================
This surprisingly compact reel of nylon cord comes in a variety of colours. You do need a good sharp knife to cut it or do you get fraying. You will probably need to char the cut edges with a lighter or similar too because of the separate inner strands which make up the cord. Currently selling for 24.99
Hi, it might seem a few quid overpriced compared to others, but it looks solid enough, I have a wind sail canopy that all the cords that came with it snapped, they was like the guy ropes tents, this seems a lot strong and thicker, so hopefully will last a while longe
This is a lovely quality no stretch paracord. It feels nice and robust and comes in a range of colours. I have to say though be sure of colours before ordering. The one I ordered the camera really won’t do it justice. Of all the pics I took the colour which is closest to the colour itself is the picture which is closest to the light from the window. This was suppose to be a soft pink and it’s more like a vibrant neon pink. Lovely colour it has to be said but if your looking for pale or more muted pink then soft pink is not for you.
This paracord is great for my needs. I wanted to use it to replace the poor quality cord that came with my shade sail for the garden, but it will also come in handy as a replacement for guy ropes on the tent, should it be needed. I’ve handled a lot of paracord in my time, and in the hand this feels like good quality stuff.
I went for this hideously luminous yellow to make it as visible as possible. Our little one is becoming increasingly mobile and I’m thinking ahead about minimising the potential for any tripping incidents. While it may not be the aesthetic I want for my garden, his safety is more important, and this is definitely highly visible.
50m of this 4mm paracord is selling for 19.99 at the time of this review. After a quick search, I can see that there are equivalent options available for less. I can’t comment on their quality not having tested them personally, but that does indicate that this may not be the most value for money option.
This is a very decent sized roll of nylon paracord, 330ft to be exact. The rope is very strong and feels like it could withstand some pretty decent winds! I am using this to tie down my chicken run tarp, i did previously use bungee cords but these just rotted very quickly. I am confident that this rope will last a lot longer than them! This type of rope has endless different usage scenarios and will be a great addition to my gardening tools.
Paracord is one of those things that’s handy to have around for so many different uses, I’ve never been without at least a roll since I was in the forces many years ago, it’s strong, versatile and lasts well even outdoors resiting rot and degradation from weather and sunlight, definitely worth having a roll handy and this one is pretty good for what it is.
This is exactly what I wanted, the yellow is really nice and bright.
So I need something to use that is strong, and bright because I need it to be visible for safety, and this is exactly that.
The weave of the threads is nice, it has that slight cushion as I’d expect, and it feels very good in hand.
I’ve tied several knots in this because I wish to use this in an aquatic scenario, the knots stayed in well, and the strength is fantastic.
Very happy with this, it’s exactly what I needed.
This is the real deal! I have brought Paracord off this company before (EDCX) and I cannot fault it, hanging a serious amount of canvas up in the air camping with lots of tarps I’ve made out of canvas. This looks exactly the same quality and has the same core as my previous purchase from them. Great that it is on a reel and a pretty good price too! Made in the EU so the quality should be there and consistent. Great for camping, EDC etc. or just hanging your washing out to dry. Rot and UV resistant, very happy!
I ordered this 50 meter length of paracord in the orange yellow variety and to me it looks almost golden (in a good way) the cord itself is strong enough to support most things with a claimed breaking strain of around 250KG, I cannot test this however I feel it is plenty strong for 99% of your tying needs. there are 7 strands inside the cord which seems to be the standard you would get in mil spec stuff. I will be using this to make some key fobs as I like the color so much, recommended.
