I bought this for my own use and it was very helpful. This UK to European Plug Adapter with USB is a versatile and convenient charging solution for travelers. It has two USB C and two USB A ports, which means that I can charge various devices. The 20W fast charging via PD20W tech also allows me to stay ahead of time.
Another thing about this adapter is that it’s safe. It has a grounded wall adapter which provides a secure connection when charging. And also has a lightweight compact design so I can take it anywhere I want.
One of the things that you should know before buying this is that it’s not a voltage converter. So make sure you have devices that are dual-voltage or you’ll end up breaking them.
Despite its small size, it supports up to five different devices at once and ensures safe usage with flame-resistant materials and over-current and over-voltage protection.
Outstanding adapter! With the increasing demand for USB-C compatibility, I needed a dual USB-C port solution for my devices, and this one fits the bill perfectly. The 20W power output on one port indeed charges faster, and the included travel bag keeps everything organized. This adapter is high-quality and highly recommended.
I like this adaptor, I do a lot of travelling and am currently using it in Portugal, contrary to other reviews, it doesn’t feel cheap to me, nor do the USB ports seem loose. I don’t at present have any type C products to use in the smaller ports but I have read that we will soon all be using these smaller ports, so it seems extremely useful to be prepared for that. I also normally take my hairdryer with its British plug with me, so having the plug and the facility to charge four items at the same time, is excellent. I haven’t timed how fast the ‘fast charger’ is but it does seem pretty quick. The charger also comes with a small carrying case as per the picture, which is a nice little extra feature. I’m extremely happy with this charger and have no negative comments to make about it.
I recently took this adapter to Greece with me. It was the only adapter I actually ended up using – I had brought other ones with me in case this failed. I was pleasantly surprised with this adapter though. The main attraction is the usb ports – they work great and do provide quicker charging – i have not measured this against my other chargers though. I found the usb connections felt a little loose though and did not feel like other premium usb ports. I also used the actual plug adapter which worked as expected. I found some of the text on the box to be incorrect although I was pleasantly surprised to find it came in a little carrying pouch. I feel the build quality is a little sub-par and it did feel a little cheap in the hands.
Overall this is a good adapter for travel and I would recommend it.
Travel adapters are travel adapters. Right ? Well yes and no. Some are just travel adapters that plug into a European socket and allow you to plug in your UK appliances. If you wish to charge your phone with this basic type then you will need to plug a USB fitting in to the only available outlet, which will mean no other device can be used when your phone is charging.
This neat little device has two USB A slots and two USB C slots, one of which allows high speed charging, and so cuts down on at least one gadjet that you no longer need to remember to take with you. One thing to note is that the instructions state that this adapter is not suitable for Italy. This is because Italy does not have a standardised system of electrical outlets. You may encounter three different types of plug sockets in Italy and so it would be best to take an adapter that will cope with each type. Included with this adapter is a list of countries that it can be used in and it is quite impressive.
The adapter is not a transformer so if you want UK appliances to work properly in a country with a different supply rating then you would need a transformer to convert to the correct voltage and frequency. Of course the USB outlets are safe to use with your USB appliances.
On a recent trip to France I used the adapter to charge my iphone 7 in one of the USB A slots. I can’t say it was particularly fast but I didn’t notice that it was slow either. I would expect the high speed USB C slot to be quite a bit faster.
The unit is fairly compact considering that it has five outlets on the front and is of pretty standard quality of construction and should be durable as long as the internal electronics are sufficiently robust.
This isn’t the cheapest adapter you can find but the presence of the four built in USB ports makes it decent value and I really like the convenience of just needing one piece of hardware instead of two or even three to get the same versatility. For me it’s a must have travel accessory that even comes with it’s own little drawstring bag.
Adapters of this type are incredibly useful on trips to the EU; some friends took one on a trip to Austria where they found it was indispensable for charging watches, cameras, phones, torches and power packs. This is a well made, lightweight adapter, ideal for packing into your holiday luggage. It has CE and UKCA approvals and fits E and F sockets and so will fit the sockets with the round metal Earth pin, mainly found in France, as well as those with the metal side Earth springs, found in Spain, amongst many others. I also found that it was useful on the French cross channel ferries which have French sockets. There are four USB outputs, two USB-A and two USB-C, one of which has an orange insert; I tried them with my phone and all are standard 5V outputs, so no fast charging, (although you can plug in your fast charger to the 13A socket if needed). The adapter comes with a travel bag, which is a really useful addition to keep all the charging leads together in one place. Well made and useful.
