I’ve been using the Eufy Security SoloCam C210 for a few months now and I’m very happy with it. It’s a great value for a budget-friendly security camera. The camera has 2K resolution, which is very clear, and it also has night vision. The camera is also very easy to install and set up.

One of the things I love most about the Eufy Security SoloCam C210 is that it doesn’t require a monthly subscription fee. This is a huge plus for me, as I don’t want to be locked into a contract. The camera also stores footage locally on a microSD card, so I don’t have to worry about my data being stored in the cloud.

Overall, the product seems to have several impressive features that cater to the needs of those looking for a reliable outdoor security camera. Here’s a detailed review:

    **Pros**:

    1. **2K Resolution**: The 2K resolution ensures high-quality footage, providing clear and detailed visuals day and night. This is crucial for identifying individuals and events accurately.

    2. **No Hidden Fees**: The absence of monthly fees and hidden costs is a significant advantage. This transparency in pricing is appreciated by consumers who want to avoid surprise charges.

    3. **Ample Storage**: The capacity to hold up to 3 months of local storage is a commendable feature. It offers peace of mind, knowing that your data is not only private but also accessible when needed.

    4. **Selective Alerts**: The on-device AI’s ability to differentiate between humans and other objects (like animals or branches) is invaluable. This minimizes unnecessary alerts, ensuring that you’re only notified of genuinely important events.

    5. **Weather Resistance**: The IP67 weather resistance rating is a crucial feature for an outdoor camera. It assures users that the camera can withstand a range of harsh weather conditions, which is essential for reliable outdoor surveillance.

    6. **Easy Installation**: The wire-free design and the option to install it virtually anywhere with just one hole to drill makes the setup process hassle-free. This feature is likely to appeal to users who value simplicity and convenience.

    **Cons**:

    1. **Size and Visibility**: While the tiny size is an advantage for discreet placement, it might also make the camera less visible. Some users may prefer a more prominent deterrent factor for potential intruders.

    2. **Limited Field of View (Not specified)**: The review doesn’t mention the camera’s field of view, which is a critical aspect for outdoor surveillance. A wide field of view ensures more coverage and minimizes blind spots.

    **Conclusion**:

The product offers a range of features that make it a competitive option in the outdoor security camera market. The emphasis on clear footage, absence of hidden fees, selective alerts, weather resistance, and easy installation are all strong selling points. However, potential buyers might want to confirm the field of view and consider whether the compact size aligns with their security needs. Overall, it appears to be a solid choice for those seeking reliable outdoor surveillance.

This camera is so simple to install and set up. No faffing about. The images and sound are crystal clear. There’s a slight delay which doesn’t bother me. Very pleased with this.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI have multiple Eufy security devices. In fact, my whole house and garage are all protected with Eufy security. From my doorbell, to external cameras, it’s all by the same company. I like it because I don’t have to pay any sort of subscription to access my recordings. I never understood why anyone would by a video device from a company only to have to then pay them for the privilege of accessing the recordings. It’s nonsensical to me.

Anyway, this camera totally compliments the existing system and, as such, is super easy to set up and connect. The images are very clear with a nice wide angle, giving full coverage from it’s location. It’s a perfect companion to Eufy’s other security products.

Oh! And one last thing that you might not read anywhere else, but may be of interest; from the base station to the cameras, there is a claimed 300 foot range. My property isn’t big enough to really test this, but I have never had any sort of connection issues, where other makes have failed. This was really important to me, I hope it answers a question you might not have thought to ask. Very highly recommended.

I always try to write an honest and unbiased review of all the products I order. My reviews are only my opinion, of course, but I hope they help.

Keeping an eye on one’s surroundings has never been clearer or more precise. This outdoor security camera offers vivid and detailed footage both day and night, ensuring nothing goes unnoticed. The alerts are highly discerning, eliminating unnecessary notifications from passing animals or swaying branches. With no additional fees and weather-resistant qualities, this camera remains steadfast in various weather conditions, though there could be improvements in its connectivity.

The camera came well packaged with good instructions. The setup was very easy and quick. Completely wireless. No drilling holes through a wall for power or wired signal! Daytime viewing is clear and the night vision isn’t perfect but is quite acceptable. It took me about half an hour to put up and ten minutes to set up by following the instructions provided. It has managed to weather extreme heat and rain and appears to be holding up nicely. Overall, High-quality clear vision and sound sets this camera apart from others.

A wonderful price value for this security cam. It uses WiFi to connect and has got inbuilt storage.

The clarity with 2K is not the best but still does the job and have also got a decent night vision too.

Setting up is pretty easy if you are rightly set on the WiFi too. Once set up, the movement though is very restricted unless you have a separate mount to improve it. The price is decent for the features available.

I really like eufy Security SoloCam C210 Security Camera.

It can withstand rain and other bad weather.

Its resolution is good at 2K.

There is no monthly fee! You can do local storage!!

It’s really pleasantly compact – stubby. I really like the form factor.

It has a little solar panel on the top, this is handy for topping up (as long as the sun is out). It’s neat that it’s built into the unit so doesn’t require additional messy cabling.

The battery lasts a good amount of time – it would last 3 months even if the sun stopped shining (for some reason)

I really like that you don’t have to use Homebase, you can just use it on WiFi. And even then, you actually still get some AI features.

It has an internal 8GB memory – this is handy for local storage.

It’s really good to be able to have complete control over your own data!

I think this is a good balance between value/money and spec

Simple to charge, install and set up.
Picture quality is good as is the night vision.
My only concern is how easy it would be to steal – so i have installed mine high up to prevent theft.

One of the standout features is its IP67 weather resistance, making it durable and capable of withstanding various weather conditions. Whether it’s rain or shine, this camera will continue to function reliably.

What sets the SoloCam C210 apart is its no monthly fee approach. Many security systems require ongoing subscriptions, but with this camera, you can enjoy peace of mind without the additional costs.

The 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi connectivity ensures a stable connection to your network, and it’s compatible with the HomeBase S380 (HomeBase 3), adding to its versatility within the Eufy ecosystem.

Is this the best security camera out there – Certainly not but when you consider the price and how spectacularly easy this is to set up and connect to your router then if its a choice of not bothering or using this then I think this is a great choice. The beauty is that it has its own infrastructure so you can add additional units as and when you want. Just bear in mind the easy installation means that you have to frequently recharge it so don’t place it somewhere really awkward to get at.

I’ve just installed this Eufy Solocam C210 to replace another cam that I had on my doorstep. Due to the rear mounted screw thread, I was able to install it straight onto my old camera’s mount.

This is simple to use, with a single button to connect and turn.

The camera image is nice and clear. Detection works well and it’s triggering only when someone is at my door.

I’ve now plugged a solar panel into the unit, swapped the settings around and it’s keeping it topped up.

The memory I side isn’t huge, but it’s fine for my needs as it will last several days. It seems to be quite efficient with its recording time.

My only issue is that, despite it having a trial for cloud storage, it’s not actually compatible with it. This would have made.it a 5 star product, but sadly it’ll only run on the internal memory.

Overal, I’m otherwise pleased and can recommend this.

4.0 out of 5 stars Compact design, easy to use and operate.

Can be used alone or with the homebase. Powerhouse with great resolution and is battery powered. The main feature is no requirements for a subscription. PIR motion detection and night vision means there’s always coverage. Extremely easy to installation and connection to my router, and the eufy app was easy to navigate to make custom adjustments. mics mean I can communicate with visitors from wherever. 10/10

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis is a good camera with some flaws which I will come on to. The build quality is excellent and it is really very easy to set up but only on 2.4 Mhz. The battery is supposed to last about three months on a single charge but that is dependent on what you set the camera up to do. So when mounting it bear in mind you are going to have to take it down to charge it up. Mounting it is simple and detaching it from the mounting bracket is just a matter of unscrewing the attachment which can be done by hand. No power cables though and that is just great. Weakness number one: easy for your burglar to take down too. Putting it out of reach, and then getting it down to recharge becomes awkward especially when the weather is not so good. To avoid this I have put the camera inside the house looking through the window but that messes up night vision. So night vision is disabled for now while I think of alternatives.

Weakness number two: The 8GB of storage is all in the camera so if the camera is taken, so is all of your recorded video. Now admittedly anything recorded can be downloaded but if the camera has been taken you are not going to be able to do that. The 8GB is really 7GB in reality. The manufacturer would say to buy their hub and have the video stored there. You cannot store it directly on a PC, a NAS drive, or your phone; that is a major letdown.

The quality of the video is good and the detection sensitivity makes sure you capture the action. It can be set to human only or anything which means I am capturing delivery vans which is what I want. That has revealed another flaw. Weakness number three: There is a 5-second delay between recording events being triggered. That has meant some events being missed. My drive is in a cul-de-sac and it gets used as a turning point much to my annoyance. Two vans used it and the camera recorded the first black-coloured van but did not pick up the second white one because it was less than 5 seconds after the first. There is no way of setting it at anything less than 5 seconds. So I have to set the video recording length to be longer and that is done in the “power manager” section of the app which is not the most logical of places for it to be. Video settings, please, are where they should be.

I am going to persist with this camera mainly because it is a quality piece of hardware, purely battery powered and I have not had to worry about a mains supply but it has been frustrating that I have had to find workarounds for what should have been thought through by the manufacturer.

It’s not like me to jump straight on and review after receiving something, and obviously time will tell how it goes but the set up of this item was so quick and easy it absolutely warrants it. So the security camera comes in a super tiny box complete with instructions, screws and raw plugs and a USB cable. And the bracket to put it on a wall. You simply drill the holes into a wall, screw in the bracket, add the camera and set it up using the app. The app is a bit of a overwhelming experience as there’s a lot of info coming at you, but once you’re ready, you are literally up and running, and you don’t need to subscribe to anything so it’s free. On the app you can watch the camera and even press and hold a button to talk to people outside which was unexpected and hilarious, there’s a bit of a lag though unfortunately. Was fun to say “up a bit, down a bit” during the set up though. I’m honestly really impressed and can’t wait to use this camera properly. That it can also be unscrewed and then charged via USB then put back up again is another bonus. Love it!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersVery impressed with this little camera, and a bit of research shows that there is a full eufy security ecosystem that seems as well thought out as this camera.

Set up through the eufy security app was very simple and installation is simply a case of attaching the base to a solid surface with a couple of screws. It was a bit tricky to tighen the nut to hold the camera at the angle I wanted, but after a bit of twisting and turning it held OK.

The camera has no cables whatsoever as it is powered by a built-in rechargeable battery and connects direct to your WiFi. Note, though, that like a lot of these things it will only connect to 2.4GHz WiFi so make sure you haven’t disabled that on your router!

Night vision, with IR LEDs in black and white or without the LEDs in colour, is very good and the image quality is very good for a 2K camera – though there is a bit of lens distortion at the edges due to the wide FoV.

A couple of things to note, though:

    – Movement detection is via a Passive Infra Red sensor (PIR) so is not as sensitive as video motion detection and does not really work through windows (the camera can be installed outdoors, though).
    – The mount does not allow a great deal of angling of the camera. Most camera mounts have a notch cut-out to allow the camera to be angled almost parallel with the mounting surface, but not this one.
    – Unless you also buy the eufy hub (called the Homebase 3), all video is stored on-board the camera. There is no option to automatically off-load to a NAS, for example. (There is no option of paid for cloud storage either, but that does mean that there is no monthly fee!)

One final thing to note, although you can download clips from the camera to the app, all storage is local so if a thief steals the camera they have also stolen your proof!
